Convenient to train and restaurants

Good kitchen. Listing is accurate. This is an older home with old-time narrow stairs, but was great for 2 grandparents and 2 grandkids. Easy keypad access. Stocked w needed amenities.

A hidden gem!

My family and I had a wedding to attend in NJ. We loved this place. It was clean and comfortable. We happened to meet Tracey, the host, when we arrived. She was very personable and we enjoyed talking with her. The neighborhood has lots of cute shops and places to eat. Everything is very close by.

Graduation stay

We rented this home for our daughter's college graduation. The home was lovely inside and very comfortable. Communication with the owner was excellent, she was readily available when we had a few questions. The home could use an additional outside trash can. Overall very good experience.

Dated home

Had a wonderful stay in Milburn. However, the home is charming and quite dated. Bathroom is in dire need of some updating. Queen bed is futon with mattress. Communication with property manager was pleasant.

Wonderful Host, Space & Location

If you are looking for a place in the Millburn area, this is it. Great quiet location, within walking distance to train stn (about 8-10 mins), coffee shops, yoga, restaurants, grocery stores and so much more. Hostess is amazing - took the extra time and care to draw a detailed map out for me as well as connect and make sure everything was ok. Super friendly and caring. Also had a guest book with more information about the area. The house was also well stocked with dishes etc for cooking at home. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Home Sweet Home

What a cute little house with a lot of history. I was a Millburn High School 1983 graduate and lived in town for many years. Being able to stay in a home in the heart of the town was so incredibly nostalgic!! Seeing my High School out the front windows and the row of homes my friends lived in was a real treat. The home was so clean and cozy and made me feel like I was living back in town!! We walked everywhere. This home was cute, clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. I am so grateful we found this little gem. I’ll be back for sure!!

Quaint and comfy in a historic home!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in Milburn. It’s about a 45 min ride into NYC via ride share and about an hour 15 mins via NJ transit. It was a perfect place to decompress after the intensity of the city. The host was welcoming and responsive. Millburn is adorable and the accommodations were just what we needed after our busy days! The place is stocked with extras, which was appreciated, beds were comfy, good internet, and beautiful kitchen! Please be warned, the staircase is steep and slippery. Take them with care. We will stay again next time we are this way!

Should not be rented in current conditions

It took a long time to receive a response from the owner/contact person. She said she was away out of country. The house needed some cleaning. Notes from the previous guests to the owner/manager were still on the counter when we arrived. In my opinion, this house should not be rented before some fundamental cleaning is done and done furniture are replaced.

Not what we were expecting

The photos on the listing did not match well to what we found on arrival. The bathroom window was open with no screen and could not be closed, resulting in insects in the room. One bedroom had a window open (with a screen) but it could also not be closed. Same for the kitchen window. The home is outdated overall, especially the kitchen appliance and the spaces are darker because of missing light bulbs in multiple rooms. Thankfully, we brought toilet paper and paper towels because none could be found in the home. We were thankful for the proximity to the train station and the town is nice but I feel like the house needs some improvements.

Needs a comfort upgrade

The owner was wonderfully attentive, but the overall comfort of the house needs an upgrade. The queen sized bed is a queen mattress on a futon frame so you fall off the edges and it has no support. The single bed had no top sheet so kiddo sleeping with just the comforter (didn't realize until stripping the beds) that everyone else uses. The window coverings are paper, so you literally have to take them down if you want light upstairs or need to open a window. Toilet paper was less than 1 ply. The TV offerings are great, but the couch is very old and the cushions are shot, not comfortable. Kitchen nicely stocked for cooking. Lots of very steep stairs, so not a house for knee problems or older folks. Location is great -- quiet and tucked in. And the town is darling. Note: You cannot park in town if you are not a resident! The house is close to downtown (just a few blocks) and has off street parking, but just be aware you cannot drive and then park anywhere in town. Truly would be an ideal little rental if comfort was upgraded

Millburn stay

If visiting NJ, can't beat the location. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, supermarket, park and NYC train. The house is neat with all necessities and has a nice deck and backyard. Tracy the host was great. Made the check in easy, even offered to unload the shopping bags. Left her number in case of emergencies and then stayed out of the way.

Milburn House walking to Train to NYC and town

My 2 siblings and I enjoyed staying at this property during Christmas. The house was large and spacious compared to a hotel room. The house was well stocked and had a beautiful deck. Great parking and hidden off the main road. We could walk to the pleasant town of Milburn to their great bakery and many restaurants. The house was both convenient to my families home and the excellent train service to Manhattan. The check in process was flawless. I highly recommend this house and will stay here in the future when I am visiting my family in New Jersey .

Wonderful Stay

What a lovely weekend getaway in New Jersey! Tracey was a gracious and communicative host that made our entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The house is cute and very comfortable, we all slept SO well! The location is great as well, so many restaurants and places to go in walking distance (and a track to run off those calories a stones throw away!). I would 1000% recommend this property!

Basic but unclean

Friends and I stayed at this home for a weekend. It hadn't been cleaned recently. There was a musty smell, dead spiders and cobwebs in nearly every room and a general lack of freshness. There was no AC on the main floor and we were very warm. The master bedroom bed was no larger than a queen which was disappointing since it was stated that it was a king bed. We did have a pleasant stay overall. It had enough room for the 4 of us and the house was pretty similar to the pictures.

The owner appreciates the feedback, and they wanted to follow up with you on the items you mention: - A professional cleaning team prepares the house for each new guest, and the owner then personally inspects it as well - They did their walk-through the day before your arrival and did not find any cleanliness issues, cobwebs, or mustiness - They would have been happy to provide a window A/C unit if you had let them know that you weren't comfortable with the temperature - They have also corrected the bed descriptions on the listing and apologize for any disappointment The owner is glad that overall you had a pleasant stay - they try to improve the comfort of their guests whenever possible, and they'd love the chance to host you again the next time you're in Millburn!

Nice, cute and clean place

We had a very nice weekend stay in NJ as a getaway from NYC. The place was clean and quiet, and the location was convenient to Downtown Millburn with lots of restaurants. We also were able to walk to South Mountain Reservation to go for some nice hikes.

Great location

Wonderful location near NYC train as well as walking distance to restaurants and shops. And plenty of parks near by for the kids. House was comfortable and well equipped.
