We usually don’t respond to reviews, but felt it was needed to have potential future guests to have a complete view based on comments by Gary. Overall Gary and Suzanne were great guest who left the rental very clean and were good tenants while here. We always try to give our guest their own space so we don’t like to hover with questions. Jane & I take pride in having a clean and well kept rental. That said, just like any home there can be issues that pop up here or there and we try to resolve as soon as it’s brought to our attention. In this case, we responded quickly to requests such as when we were told about a burned out light bulb. The other issues like minor cleaning misses and propane running out could have easily been taken care of, but we weren’t informed about them until after the couple decided to leave which was 5½ weeks later (of a six week stay). We originally got a message stating “We’ve arrived and are unpacked. This will be perfect for our stay.” So items like cleaning we assumed were fine. We hire a professional cleaning service after every stay so could have easily had them return if anything was missed. Another example is we have two extra LP tanks for the grill which could have been changed in minutes. As for garbage, we usually handle for normal weekend/week stays. For extended stays like these guests have handled often as it’s only a couple minutes from the cabin. We also are willing to take garbage when we run down and did when asked by these guests. All we ask from guests is if you have a problem let us know and we’ll fix it. Previous guests can attest to how fast we respond to questions or issues. We can’t afford to issue full credit for someone who leaves early when we weren’t even aware of the majority of issues mentioned, nor given any notice of their plans for early departure. We had already turned down another guest’s request as their stay overlapped and we honor our stay agreements. It should be noted in this case that we did issue a partial refund for any inconvenience Gary and Suzanne incurred during their stay. We have communicated with Gary multiple times about the stay and we truly appreciate their feedback so that we can add to our checklist going forward. The description and photo’s on the site are as complete and accurate as we can make them, but feel free to ask any question or for more pictures/videos of the place as needed. We want to have a fair representation for our potential guests.
