It operates with a simple on/off switch located on the side of the unit. We also include step-by-step operating instructions in the home guide provided before and during each stay. As of January 30, 2026 (the checkout date of this stay), our cleaner personally confirms the fireplace is powered on and fully operational before every check-in to ensure everything is ready to enjoy upon arrival.

Nicely decorated. Very well kept up. Location close to Newport Pavillion and pier. Garage available, a little tricky to open and close. Condo was nice. Easy access to all the beaches and attractions…just a short drive to whatever you might want to do. Living room is small for a family to hang out in and couch was not comfortable but you’re likely not spending too much time in the condo while on vacation. Easy to book and easy to check in and out. Having a garage was nice. It says a SUV would fit but I’m not too sure about that. Just FYI. It was a nice stay. Condo was clean.

Great place in a great neighborhood
Townhouse had everything needed for whatever your stay requires - short term, long term , leisure, business. Every amenity is covered - WiFi, internet TV, coffee, cookware, linens, soap/shampoo, iron/ironing board, washer/dryer and detergent, beach gear. It was very clean, everything was in very good condition and in working order. Loved having a garage for 2 cars and it's in a great neighborhood (clean, safe and walking distance to shopping and dining). Communication from property manager was very timely and thorough. I didn't have to ask for any further information and we were not lacking for anything at the property. This was my first experience with VRBO and the bar has been set very high.

The highlights of the property were that it was accommodating for my kids and family and close to the highway. Although coming in off the highway, the area has a lot of traffic. Normal for California but in this situation you are funneled into one option and stuck. The host and his team were extremely communicative but even this had its drawbacks back as the messages they sent me were frequent and even as late as 11:30 at night. There was also extra paperwork and documents, even after we arrived I had to sign another waiver or rules form. I prefer less of all of that. The unit was clean but felt a bit dingy and outside there were cob webs everywhere and my kid kept getting them on his clothes. Parking was another hurdle as you can only park in the garage, but was given the wrong garage code. They were prompt with giving me the correct code but my SUV did not fit in the garage so I had to leave the door open all night. If you have a smaller vehicle and don’t mind being sent messages, then the place would probably work great. They were friendly and accommodating and everything worked out for my trip, so in the end I’m can say it was a good property.

For future guests, we would like to provide additional context regarding the points raised in this review.
Our home is not located directly alongside a freeway. While it offers convenient access to major roads and nearby Southern California destinations, significant highway noise is not typical for the location.
The identity-verification form is a standard security measure that is sent immediately after booking and takes less than 30 seconds to complete. In this case, the guest waited until shortly before check-in to submit it. Once guests have checked in, there are no additional verification forms to complete.
We contacted the guest at approximately 10:30 PM because their vehicle was parked in a restricted area and was at risk of being towed. We felt it was important to notify them promptly rather than allow them to face that inconvenience.
Regarding the exterior, our team inspected the home on July 1 and confirmed that there were no cobwebs around the property.
The correct garage code and clear keypad instructions were provided before arrival. During our phone conversation with the guest, we confirmed that the code they had received was correct and that the issue involved operating the garage keypad rather than an incorrect access code. The garage dimensions are also included in our home guide so guests can confirm before arrival whether their vehicle will fit, as the garage is the designated parking area for our home.

Mold, Mold, Mold! Stay Away from this property
This was by far the worst property I've ever stayed at for a short term rental. Please save yourself the money and headaches from staying at this place.
This property is located in an apartment complex that is a mix of long term renters and short term renters. The exterior of the property absolutely reeks of marijuana. Being in Costa Mesa you want to spend time outside and have the windows open but you simply cannot do that at this property because of the strong smell.
You are assigned a garage space that works great as long as other tenants from the apartment complex aren't blocking it. There were two separate occasions where we could not get out of the garage since other residents were parked in front of it. One time was around 9pm in the evening and I tried contacting the host but they were absolutely no help. This resulted in myself going door to do around the complex asking if it was that persons car. I finally found the person but it took me about 45 minutes to leave.
Now that the outside is covered I'll go into the inside of the property. When you first walk in you will be greatly disappointed in the cleanliness of the property. The pictures are obviously years old because the walls are completely beat up and the flooring is disgusting. If you look at the edges of the baseboard you will see tons of dirt, hair, sand and grime. It is really obvious that this place is not kept up.
We ordered food in the first night and grabbed a few dishes and they were covered in old food. It was really disgusting to see someone else's dried food on our "clean" plates. I decided to hand wash those so we could eat. After eating I wanted to run all of the dishes so we could have clean dishes and when I opened up the dishwasher I was greeted with MOLD all over the bottom of the dishwasher. After running a cycle to see if it would remove the host then asked if it could "be removed by a wet cloth" so she could share it with the cleaning team. If this place is actually being cleaned between residents it would be very obvious that there was mold in the dishwasher and needed to be remediated.
The AC unit they have inside works great when the hose is actually connected. The hose would disconnect every 10-15 minutes from the main unit resulting in hot air being blown in the house. Again, being in Costa Mesa we wanted to enjoy the breeze but you cannot open your windows with the marijuana smell.
Stay away from this unit, you'd be happier at a Motel 6.

We have notified the complex management of your feedback regarding the marijuana smell so they can address it directly. The satisfaction of our guests is of the utmost importance to us, so we are sorry to hear that your garage space was sometimes inaccessible. A full summary of parking details was included in the home guide provided to you in advance of your arrival and upon checking into the unit, which includes all pertinent information regarding parking. As a professional company, we take pride in the accuracy of our listing photos, which we update regularly to ensure they represent the unit well. We also employ a team of professional cleaners that are held to a high standard of cleanliness. We rely on feedback from guests like you to ensure that our units are up to par and we have addressed the reported issues such as the flooring and baseboards as well as the dishes with the cleaner to ensure these areas are paid special attention going forward. We offered to send our cleaning team back to the unit immediately to address your complaints regarding the overall cleanliness and dishwasher, however you refused our offer so we were therefore unable to rectify these issues during your stay. With regard to the AC hose, this is the first time this issue has been reported and upon inspection by our cleaning team, there was nothing wrong with the hose or unit.

Uncomfortable and unacceptable
This place did not meet my expectations. On the second night the water stopped working in one of the bathrooms. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. In the kitchen ceiling there was a broken lamp and the owners asked if they could send a repair man during our stay. In a moment where some pink lemonade was spilled, my daughter used some towels to clean it up. We cleaned the house and left it the way we found it and left the dirty towels in the laundry room. Despite leaving the house in good condition, the owners charged us $120 for “damaged” towels.

We take the satisfaction of our guests very seriously and aim to rectify any issues that are brought to our attention throughout a stay. Unfortunately, we were not made aware that the water stopped working on the second night, so we did not have an opportunity to fix it for you. We do appreciate your feedback and have assigned a handyman to replace the kitchen light light for future guests. With regard to the charges for the towels, these fees were assessed because there were several damaged/stained hand and bath towels, in addition to seven missing beach towels after taking inventory following your stay.
