Casa de campo siglo 17 situado en 25 acres de jardines, con magníficas vistas sobre el río Duero, alcanzados por una pista de bobinado encantadora a través de los jardines. La propiedad, con sus naranjos, limoneros y olivos, ha estado en nuestra familia desde hace varias generaciones y las impresiones de muchos, bocetos y fotografías que cubren las paredes cuentan su propia historia de la región del vino de Oporto de Portugal. El establecimiento se encuentra a 70 km de la costa y Oporto (sede de las bodegas de vino de Oporto y con su centro de la ciudad designada como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO).

La casa ha sido totalmente modernizado conservando su encanto único y la atmósfera. Este es el lugar para la última escapada de relax, donde podrá disfrutar de total privacidad mientras disfruta de las mejores vistas. Cerca, también hay un refugio termal que ofrece tratamientos de spa.

Hay mucho que ver y hacer mientras explora la zona, incluyendo las encantadoras ciudades, histórico de Amarante, Braga, Lamego y Regua. Un coche es esencial para obtener el máximo provecho de su estancia en este entorno idílico, pero hay un servicio regular de trenes entre Porto y Pocinho, parando en Regua y Pinhao lo largo del camino, donde puede bajarse y disfrutar de un viaje por el río, o simplemente sentarse en un restaurante de la orilla del agua y relajarse. Además, su anfitrión estará encantado de organizar visitas guiadas o degustaciones de vinos en todas las plantaciones productoras de vino de Oporto del valle del Duero y también proporcionar información sobre los servicios locales, tiendas y restaurantes. Magical vacation

Wonderful place to stay. Francisco & Teresa are magnificent hosts. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Fresh vegetables & fruit were delicious. Assisted us with transportation, Phillip was excellent. The view from our rooms, the pool and from the outside table was spectacular.

Fabulous history and home

A Special Stay Despite the Weather

We may have had terrible weather, but we still loved our time at Quinta Do Loureiro. Our children adored picking oranges and making fresh-squeezed orange juice, and Francisco was a wonderful host and kept us well supplied with firewood for our stormy stay. The grounds and views were absolutely gorgeous rain or shine. This place really is something special.

Incredibly beautiful and peaceful place

We spent the entire month of August at this beautiful property. The house is lovely unique and has all the necessary conveniences, views of the Duoro incredible, the hosts are really helpful. The place is pretty remote and the road in is a little treacherous, so don't plan to go out at night, but staying home is delightful in this beautiful home.

Thank you for your review . The forest paths inside the large property are solid and safe and they have no other traffic , but guests car. Guests are advised to drive carefully at the Rules of the House. The owner provides a taxi service for low prices to the guests for all the needs during the stay . This service include the transfer from and to the airport , average needs such shopping trips to local supermarkets and per request to local restaurants , so our guests can enjoy a nice meal , drink our Douro wines and come back home and no need to worry about how to get to the house or negotiate unfamiliar roads , especially at night , this is the main benefit of this service . We offer this service at the booking as a package for average needs during the stay , transfer , one-day winery tour, one-day leisure trips or to our local train station. This way our guests can enjoy fully their stay , safer , no driving or parking worries . Thank you for your stay . Tell your friends there is a paradise , here . Welcome anytime.

We had a wonderfull time in Francisco`s and Teresa`s house. Both are very nice hosts, reserved but helpful in exploring the area around the Douro. 5 Stars isn’t enough to describe how beautiful it is!

House is absolutely stunning in a wonderful location. Truly allows you to get away from it all but yet keep modern conveniences. Relaxing stay with amazing views

We all enjoyed our stay at this beautiful old farmhouse - the views of the river Douro were fantastic to wake up to every day and the ample pool perfect to cool down in The owner is very helpful and friendly, Francisco can help arrange airport and local transport options and I highly recommend this option over driving yourself! This location is perfect for those looking to relax at the property, and whilst transport can be arranged there is not much in the way of restaurants that are in easy walking distance - stock up at the supermarket and enjoy al fresco meals! A very relaxing stay

Perfect Place to Vacation on the Douro

Views are stunning, home is comfortable and has everything a family would need, and the history of property is evident everywhere and adds to the enjoyment of the stay. The swimming pool was great fun. The host was extremely accommodating and attentive to every need. We used the transportation arranged by the host - the driver felt like part of the family. Our family of 8 (which included twin boys age 22 months) loved our stay and all adults highly recommend the property.

Lovely stay in the Douro Valley

We were visiting the area for a wedding. Francesco was a wonderful host. The house dates from 1680 and is full of character. The views are amazing. Francesco took a lot of time to welcome us and had thought of every comfort, He gave us great advice about the local area. Thank you!

Beautiful house with a beautiful view

We loved the Quinta do Loureiro ! The location is a challenge to find but no fear, Francisco will guide you there no matter the time of day. The view from the Quinta is breathtaking and the property is spectacular. The house is fully equipped with everything you need and is charming all around. It was too cold for us to use the pool but we did sit and enjoy some wine and the view of the Douro river. We highly recommend the Quinta do Loureiro,

Quinta do Loureiro - wow

A beautiful family-owned property, with stunning views and grounds on the banks of the river Douro. I stayed with 4 family members and we had a very special 10 days. You need a car to navigate the area, and we often stocked up on goods in Marco de Canaveses. On Francisco's recommendation we travelled to Quinta do Pacheca, which was stunning. Boat trips need to be booked in advance. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and found everything clean and tidy. I hope we can return one day soon.

Beautiful views and property

This place had the best views I have ever experienced. From all bedrooms, lounge, patio, and swimming pool you have stunning views across the valley and of the river. The house is large, good size rooms. V large pool to relax by and enjoy the vista. We were here with my kids and mostly visited the local area in the mornings and lounged by/in the pool in the afternoons. The host was great with suggestions for trips. Kids loved going around picking lemons and figs. Overall this was a stay to remember and an astoundingly great property.

A Perfect Stay

Thank you Francisco for looking after us so wonderfully - especially your help with the car. A finer host is surely not to be found. A wonderful house and grounds with stunning views over the river it really felt very special. Being able to pick fresh oranges and lemons was a bonus! The pool was perfect. My first time in Portugal and I could not have hoped for better. All the people were exceptionally friendly and our 2 children had a great time. We will be returning. Thank you Francesco.

Great Duoro Views

We stayed 3 nights and were looking for a place that was a bit off the 'beaten path' of most tourist locations. The Hosts were a delight and we totally loved all the oranges they delivered. The house itself is a centuries old stone home with modern touches. Outside spaces are lovely. It rained so we couldn't take advantage of them as we would have liked. Beds comfortable. Kitchen well appointed and Livingroom comfortable with a lovely fireplace. Will return

Amazing

Beautiful property with awesome Douro Valley views. The lack of a major road nearby means the property is challenging to get to, but is not troubled by traffic and hence the only noise comes from the river (!) and the regular trains trundling up and down the valley. We made use of these from nearby Mosteiro which has a full service. At night there is almost silence. Lovely pool and eating areas. Amazing cellar rooms that have museum type information on the Douro (and a table tennis table). Excellent supermarket in nearby Cinfaes. We loved everything about this place.

Paradise

The property is quite difficult to get to with a dirt road at the end of the journey (which was made at night giving it an extra difficulty rating). However, the view is spectacular and made lounging by the large pool even more relaxing. The owner speaks English but there was a slight language barrier which dis result in a misunderstanding that marred the stay slightly. There are cafes, restaurants and supermarkets nearby that are very cheap so makes it worthwhile eating out regularly.

It is not a host fault you arrive at the house by 2 am . The description and location of the house are fully described . The property is located at Douro valley a mountain area of Portugal where you must negotiate unfamiliar roads . Also as described the paths inside our large property are solid and safe forest paths . Of course by night all unfamiliar roads are more difficult to use to anyone . The days after your nightly arrival we got a stunning surprise : you double the booking people from 8 ( 4 ad. + 4 ch. ) to thirteen without any communication / allowance from the owner !!! Another surprise...after all , your parents came with you , not a word from you about this . They are not part of the booking as others . The full capacity of the house are just 8 people as your booking . As i confirm to you by 2 th February , i found a place for your parents out of my house and i secure the booking with a 50% payment of 200 euros . Not even a word from you about this during your stay !!! You told me " they are not coming "........ All the best . .

Unique accomidation

The hosts for this property, Francisco and his wife, were very responsive and accommodating during our visit. The house was originally built in 1680 and Francisco has done basic renovation. The grounds themselves and the scenic views are something special. It is a large property with orange, lemon and olive trees, as well as beautiful flowering plants. We had problems locating the property and cannot thank Francisco enough for his patience in helping us find our way. The age of this house and the difficulty in providing modern heat presents a challenge when weather is cool. We recommended to Franciso that he consider upgrading the heat system when possible. He was gracious in providing firewood for the wonderful fireplace and brought some auxiliary heaters for us to put in the bedroom and bath.

We sorry you miss the location but waze can help very much just indicating the name of the property as above or following our driving directions to reach the house . The property has as major concern the well being of all guests . So we have at the fully disposal and without any restriction of working time or temperature level three air conditioned units at the house . Also without any kind of restrictions the house dispose besides the wash and dish machines a clothes dryer that can be also used without any restrictions of working time around 24 h / day . The pool dispose of solar panels to the comfort of our guests. We are fully open to your reviews , a working tool to improve our engaged compromise to serve our guests as part of our family and better each day ahead . I am the property owner and manager, now retired, 77 years old. I live at the farm estate in another property. I am available to welcome guests and offer assistance during their stay. Check in is quite flexible.
I will happily provide assistance during your entire stay concerning directions and other information which will help you to enjoy the area such as restaurants and places to visit. In addition, I will be delighted to arrange guided sightseeing or wine tasting tours throughout Douro Valley’s Port Wine producing estates with lunch and transport included. I can givr information on local amenities, shops and restaurants. There is also a possibility of transfer from/to Porto airport by previous arrangement and at low cost. We have details of local taxi companies and offer a package to our guests who prefer not to drive. Just ask for details.

This unique and beautiful property has been in our family for generations. It is the most wonderful place to relax and unwind. The farmhouse is set in large grounds of 25 acres/10 ha and faces south so it benefits from sunshine all day long.
The owner lives close by in a separate house on the estate, so check-in time can be flexible, just ask.
Sorry, no pets.
On request we can provide an extra single bed in one of the rooms.
Outside:
Large private outdoor, heated , swimming pool (10 m x 5 m) for guest use only. Heated by solar panels, depth min 1 m depth , max 2 m.
Sun loungers, parasols and pool towels provided.
Gas barbecue area with garden furniture, tables, chairs, sun umbrellas and pergola.
All weather table tennis.
Utility Room:
Ironing facilities, detergents for washing machine and dishwasher available for guests.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service:
House and pool towels and linen are provided. Full house cleaning, change of linen and towels once a week. Extra cleaning or change of linen/towels on request. Maid service on request.
Air conditioning/heating units in corridor ( 2 ) and office ( 1 ).
Special rates for bookings of 3 weeks or more, mid-Oct to mid-April.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

This is a spectacular location with stunning views, set in an unspoiled area with amazing food and wines. Good local restaurants, good wines and all at extremely reasonable prices for superb quality. It is a short distance to Porto, Braga, Guimarães and Lamego, (one hour drive). The house is served by train (Douro Line) to Porto, Régua, Pinhão, Braga and other directions. The nearest station is five minutes’ drive at Mosteirô. You will find local people in the village and surrounding area to be very friendly and welcoming.

In Porto you can visit the Port Wine Cellars, the Livraria (library) Lello, made famous by the Harry Potter films and step back in time at the Majestic Cafe. Visit the superb modern Casa da Musica and have wonderful seafood meals near the river at Ribeira Square. You can also take a boat trip from Régua to the Spanish border, a one day tour which is a very scenic trip.

We do not have a cancellation policy, but please be assured that if you need to cancel your booking for serious illness or another exceptional circumstance, and your travel insurance does not cover this, we will endeavour to refund your payment.
