Oh my, what a view!!
Unbeatable view. Perfect location, I suggest unless you're a hiker, you'll need a car. Lenno ferry port 5 minutes, supermarket 7 minutes and so much more. Lenno just lovely, great market on Tuesday for clothes bags shoes and a real Italian atmosphere on the Lake's edge. Ferry boat to Bellagio, Como and Vareena so simple. We rented a self drive boat, in Lenno for 6, for 4 hours, just 150 Euros.....best day ever. Outstanding views and swimming in Lake Como. Villa nice, well equipped. The double room downstairs was not my favourite with a steep narrow spiral staircase and no natural light but it was cool and decorated attractively. Shared pool a real bonus and so quiet. Would have loved to give 5 stars but for a few points that could easily be resolved. The beds were not the most comfortable, maybe OK if you like your bed very firm. The pillows and duvets, stored in the wardrobes, had no covers which wasn't pleasant and not hygienic. The rubbish situation was a real downer for me. Como is immaculate and stunningly beautiful and for this there are strict rubbish regulations. That's good. You had to recycle and put the rubbish out on set nights, no problem. However on check out we had to take all remaining rubbish, including smelly green food bags...….everything......2 bin liners full. Our cars were already bursting with luggage and people and we could not believe that the £125 cleaning fee did not cover this. Checking out is a stressful day, packing and cleaning and I found being told we needed to remove all rubbish to get our 350 Euro deposit back a sad way to end a lovely holiday. 4 cleaners arrived to blitz the villa surely they could take the rubbish, especially as no bin bags, or which there were 3 different coloured bags, were available at the villa. This could easily be resolved. Julie and Barrie text' us with ideas of what to do to make the most of the holiday which was invaluable meaning we saw lots and always on the best days. What would really help is a little map pointing out to you all the important locations, like supermarkets, ferry port, skips for rubbish, that way we'd know exactly were to take the rubbish and where to get the ferry, boat hire etc. Julie also at the end of the phone for any advice/issues. Will you have a lovely holiday? Yes. Will the view blow you away? Yes. Would I return....not sure you'll beat the view but the rubbish was no way to end a lovely holiday.
