Perfect House for a Wonderful Stay

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this wonderful house that had everything we could’ve needed. Perfect location and a quiet street made for a perfect pairing. We loved the amenities and the wonderful fireplace at this house and we couldn’t have been happier.

Shower curtain rod was rusty Shower curtain was moldy Internet initially did not work but was resolved House had a smell like curry. Opening the windows helped somewhat.

Did not know a renter was living in barn in back, and was a little uneasy sharing our privacy. Other than that we were very happy!

Everything you need!!

Wow - you never know what you're getting. The Getaway Cottage was perfect. Everything that we needed was there. Clean and cozy. We were in town for a wedding at the Homestead that is less than a mile away. Three adults stayed but there was room for more. Of course we saved a bundle of money staying at the Cottage. We ate several times at Cucci down the street. Reasonable good food. Of course the kitchen was well stocked so that we could have cooked and not went out to dinner. The Jefferson Pools about 10 min away. One suggestion is to put an air freshener or keep a window cracked to get rid of the light "cottage smell" But otherwise PERFECT! So much better than a hotel room. Great communication with the owner. Thank you for a great weekend!

This was a very pleasant, quiet place to stay with everything we needed and more! Comfortable home.

We enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable charming getaway cottage on a quiet street with a great fenced -in front yard which our dog found quite fun to sit out in. The house was quite large and had everything we needed. We liked playing with our dog in the expansive backyard which had a charcoal grill that we used to cook our veggie burgers on. The kitchen was perfect to prepare the rest of our food. The den with the TV was homey, as was the largest of the 3 bedrooms which we slept in. We were very glad that our landlady had the TV hooked up to regular TV instead of just DVDs and Netflix like some of the places we've stayed do. The neighbors were very friendly as they walked by and spoke, making us feel very welcome. Our landlady had left us a bottle of Merlot wine called "Kickstand" with a bicycle on the label. We found this very thoughtful since we're bicyclists! The cottage was close to a grocery store, gas station, and "The Homestead." It was very convenient for us to go to these places. The renter who occupies the garage apartment at the back of this property was very friendly to us too. We felt very nostalgic when we stayed in this cottage. It made us feel like we were visiting an aunt or uncle's house back when we were children, or a friend's house during our younger years. It was a great stay; we'd stay there again if our travels ever bring us to this part of the country. The front porch with the rocking chairs was fun to sit out on. Our dog, Berkeley, even sat in one of the rocking chairs for a little while one morning. We would recommend this nice cottage to our friends to stay in as well. The only thing negative about this entire stay was that we ran out of toilet paper since there were only 2 partial rolls in the bathroom when we arrived. This was not a problem since there were plenty of facial tissues available to use, and we hadn't run out until right near the end of our stay. We used the washer and dryer to do a load of laundry while we were there since we'd been out on the road for 27 days when we arrived and needed to wash our bicycling clothing. Our landlady was very gracious to let us use the laundry facilities. We had brought our own detergent with us in hopes that we'd be able to do laundry somewhere along the way. This was a great place for us and our dog, Berkeley, to stay! Many thanks to our landlady for making it so wonderful!

Great location

My kids and I very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage has everything you may need and I loved the fenced in yard for the dogs. Its walking distance to a gas station and right down the road from a grocery store. I will definitely be returning.

Great vacation get away

All communications with the host was pleasant. Very clean , we will definitely be back. Lacks nothing. Bring clothes and food and youre home. GREAT EXPERIENCE.

Comfort at a reasonable rate

Comfortable home with all that you need. The grocery store is an easy walk away. We did experience a challenge, but the owner was very responsive and addressed it right away. We all enjoyed the home and surrounding areas and will definitely stay here again

Wonderful Vacation

My family had a wonderful vacation. The cottage was perfect for my family of 5. We had enough room for all of us spread out. Our Westin loved the fenced in yard. The cottage was in a perfect location to the Homestead, downtown Hot Springs, and Lake Moomaw. Thank you for your hospitality 😊

We enjoyed the little house but we encountered ants in the kitchenand the tv room

We also had a noise fan in the first bedroom which I could not run at night. The toilet was small for adults and slightly lose . Overall I would consider using this facility again with some improvements

Great Location

The property was well stocked with anything you might need. Easy check in and great location. We loved doing the scenic drives around Bath and the surrounding counties.

Thanksgiving weekend

Property is ideally located for visits to the Homestead and area hiking and fishing. It was not fancy but served our needs just fine. We had a nice stay.

Home away from home

This house was so well equipped. It had everything we needed. I felt more like I was visiting someone rather than it being a rental. We only brought clothes and that was all that we needed. Between the house being equipped and the little grocery store right around the corner, it was such a stress free stay. Jennifer was more than accommodating. I highly recommend.

Hot Springs Fall Color Tour

Thank you Jennifer for a great stay at your home. The house was spotless. Check in was so simple and the street was super quiet. Having a fenced area for our pups was so nice. The kitchen was well stocked. We travel on Can Am spyders so all the little extras we don't have room to haul made it so easy and convenient. Thank you again!

Very cute little home. Way out in the mountains

My only suggestion to renters is try to arrive during daylight if possible for the first time. The roads on the way are very dark (no lights) and lots of sharp turns through the mountains. I did it at night and it was okay, but I felt much better driving it during the day.

The cottage is very conveniently located to all the amenities of the town, Hot Springs. It is close to the Homestead Resort , the Jefferson Pools (natural springs), Jackson River which is stocked with trout though out the season and miles of hiking trails. For the skier, the sloops are less than 5 minutes away at the Homestead Resort.

Fenced in backyard with fire pit for privacy, convenient to everything and a very nice affordable cottage for your visit to Bath County!!!
