Hermoso apartamento de 2 habitaciones y 2 baños ubicado en el centro de Manhattan. Ubicado entre 1ra y 2da avenida. Conserje y portero las 24 horas en todo momento. Una lavadora y secadora están en el condominio. A poca distancia del metro y todo lo que Midtown tiene para ofrecer. Además, a poca distancia de la ONU. Maravillosos restaurantes y espectáculos de Broadway a pocos pasos de distancia. Perfecto para un fin de semana largo o una estadía prolongada para obtener todos los lugares de interés de Manhattan. Suelos de mármol y escalera de caracol a las habitaciones de arriba. Excelente ubicación y excelente escapada de fin de semana. Hermosas vistas de la ciudad desde el balcón. Un paseo muy corto a Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral y Saks Fifth Avenue. Le encantará la ubicación y el edificio con un maravilloso conserje y porteros en todo momento.

The treasure of NY

We lived in this magnific apartment at Turtle Bay for more than 2 months. My family and me (two adults and two children) were welcomed even before the begin of our stay, with prompt, accurate and helpful replies to any of our questions and worries about running a daily life, that is, taking kids to school, grocery shopping, cooking, laundering etc. The arrival itself was lovely: Sophie and Eiilin left the apartment shining and tidy for us. They were so kind to fix a pizza waiting for us. Sophie explained everything about the apartment (appliances, lights etc.) and the building (trash disposal etc). The apartment’s location is amazing, with a 24/7 supermarket around the corner, great restaurants, lots of NYC’s landmarks at walking distance (the UN, Roosevelt Island, Grand Central Station, New York Public Library and Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Central Park). And it is just a few blocks from trains 6 (51st St. with Lexington Ave), E and M (53rd St. with 3rd Ave). There is also a Trader Joe’s and a TJ Max nearby (both at 59th St. with 1st Ave) for budget groceries and everyday shopping needs. The 6 train service is a fast link to the Mont Sinai Hospital at Madison Ave with 98th St., which helped us deal with my 6 year old son arm fracture. The apartment itself has a wonderful energy, it is beautiful and well equipped with everything that you need for a comfort life, including a washing machine and dryer inside, which is particularly handy. In the morning you have a beautiful sunshine going through the window and at night we have a moonlight in the apartment. The felling is just amazing. The building has a full-time concierge and doorman that are very polite and helpful. I can say that me and my family had the most wonderful time of our lives in this place. The welcoming and caring of Eiilin and Sophie made us want to live here for the rest of our lives.

Great stay!

I was in town for a major surgery and needed a place nearby the hospital to recover with my husband and mom. Eileen and Sophie made sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable during our entire stay! They were wonderful hosts!

Perfect Midtown Apartment

This apartment was perfect! Plenty of room - much larger than I had anticipated for NYC. And beautifully appointed. The location made it easy to get around Manhattan especially for a novice like myself. The owners are fabulous! They are responsive, knowledgeable, generous and gracious - truly concerned that our visit was perfect. Without hesitation we would stay here again. Thank you Eileen and Sophie!!

Perfect place to stay in NYC

This beautiful apartment is in a very wonderful location. It is safe and close to so many exciting places to walk to. You have your own doorman opening the door for you every time to enter or leave the building. Eileen and Sophie will make sure your visit is perfect.

Distinctive style in a great location, just a few fixes/upgrades away from 5 stars!

Ours was a 9 night stay and you will find as we did that the apt. is well equipped and stylish especially downstairs. We did not cook- hey it's New York and there are 3 gazillion restaurants in walking distance- but if you want to, everything will be there for you. Due to weather we were not able to get much use of the balcony on 49th Ave but it will be a welcome feature very soon, maybe today? You will not rent from a more responsive and caring owner than Eileen. She contacted us a couple of times to make sure all was well. If there is a downside it would be the disparity in infrastructure between the bedrooms. It goes from overboard spaciousness on one side (very nice!) to bare minimum on the other. We drew short straw and aside from about 2 feet of hanging, I basically lived out of my suitcase on the floor for 9 nights. One tiny 2 drawer vanity (again ground level) was it for folding storage. If its kids you bring then they won't mind that there is not an adequate partition on the loft side, adults will miss the privacy for sure. Pics do not capture the lack of privacy, period! We had to cover ourselves to access our one person bathroom from the bed area. There were only those long hanging plasticky blinds from the 80's that were always broken/open between you in bed and full view from upstairs and downstairs as well. The same blinds in the living area- inadequate for such a nice apt. Eileen, honey, ask somebody! You are a few grand and some labor away from tightening it up considerably. Call me, we can talk about it if you want. Mind you our friends, who drew the long straw, would probably give their experience 5 stars. Tons of storage on their side and a bath you could hold poker night in! If it's 2 couples like we were, then maybe it should be 60/40 on the rent! But a lovely building in a central location in a Great City. Ciao, jim

Not as advertised

Even though this is a large space with an upstairs and downstairs, it is not a two bedroom condo. Second bedroom is really in a loft with a very flimsy curtain and no privacy. The bathroom faucets were leaky and construction right outside our balcony dominated our first two days in the condo. We woke up to jackhammers right outside our balcony, which prevented us from enjoying the balcony. The air conditioning in the master bedroom did not work and therefore we had to open a window which led in a lot of street traffic noise during the night. All said, I want to mention that the doorman were extremely helpful and friendly and we enjoyed their welcoming assistance. We were extremely disappointed and would never return again to this condo. Home away from home

We had a great stay at this spacious apartment on East 49th Street. It felt like home and was a great base for our stay. Lot’s of extra touches with food and beverages. Complete kitchen for cooking in and convenient neighborhood shopping and restaurants. Very clean. Highly recommended! Hope to return.

This location was close to wonderful restaurants, plays and shopping. A great neighborhood feel. The apartment has all you csn ask for : elevator, washer/dryer, comfortable beds, a beautiful living area and kitchen and it was very clean. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place. We will be back!!

Perfect location with style!

From the very comfy beds to the friendliest doorman we had a great stay in New York at this Midtown spot. The owners were extremely accommodating with our schedule and it was great to get "home" after making the most of such a great city. I highly recommend booking spot.

Spacious! Clean! Great Location!

Enjoyed our stay in New York and absolutely loved staying at this location! Great restaurants all around you! Short walk to Rockefeller center and all the shopping you could imagine! Host were amazing. Doormen were incredibly accommodating! Will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Super clean and great location

2 couples stayed 4 nights in October. The apartment was super clean and walking distance to everything. We found traffic noise (everywhere in Manhattan) disturbing, but the a/c unit helped block that at night. Eileen checked in several times to ensure that all was perfect. We were very happy all around!

THE PERFECT PLACE!

I've never been more compelled to write a review! If you are trying to decide between Turtle Bay and another rental, hands down Turtle Bay should be your choice! You'd be hard pressed to find more gracious hosts than Eileen and Sophia. I coordinated our stay through Eileen and she is a delight to work with. Any amenity you can imagine is available. The beds are so comfy after long fun filled days in the city. If you are hot- natured like me, don't panic when you walk in, there are air units in every window that keep the place a perfect temp. The neighborhood is quaint and safe with a variety of restaurants to choose from. There is even a market right around the corner. East 49th runs right by Rockefeller Plaza - there is no need for Uber, Lyft or taxi - we were in walking distance to all on our list with the exception of the Battery but with Grand Central Station just a few blocks away the Battery seemed close too. Choosing a VRBO is such a shot in the dark. We were in New York to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday and wanted everything to be perfect. Thanks to Eileen and Sophia our lodging was the icing on the cake! We filled the rooms with laughter and love and invite you to do the same! Thank you, Eileen and Sophia! We'll definitely be back :) xxoo

wonderful

So.. Eileen and Sophie meant it when hey say ‘make yourself at home’. I have stayed in numerous pricey Air BnBs and the owners tend to be lunatics with cameras, automatic alert systems that go straight to their phone and 1000 different rules. This place was just as nice as the other places I have stayed but I felt at home and not like I was walking on egg shells. I went my my parents (65yrs old) and my sister who is 30. The apartment is older but has great upgrades- ohhhh the kitchen! And it quite comfortable. We are used to a lot of space, so the 2nd bedroom and bath was a little bit cramped but it was still perfect for anything else in NYC. The balcony is massive and great for breakfast and pre dinner appys and drinks. Thank you so much to Eileen and Sophie who were prompt in answering our questions and who just the most lovely people to rent from. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful Manhattan Apartment with balcony. Easy access to everything.

This large, two bdrm / 2 bath apartment is exactly as described. Our group consisted of two couples in our 60s. The apt was very clean with great location on tree-lined street in safe neighborhood less than two blocks from the United Nations bldg. Having a 24-hour doorman available for assistance was a plus. The apt's cozy balcony is great for relaxing with your morning coffee and evening "beverage" after a long day exploring NYC. There is a large super market just around the corner that has everything you need for stocking up on supplies. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Time Square is within a 15 minute walk and subway stations are within 3-4 blocks that can take you anywhere. Eileen, the apt owner, is absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. She truly cares about making sure guests have a memorable NYC experience. We highly recommend this property!!

New York at it's Finest!

We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. Within walking distance to everything, the house was clean and perfect for the four of us. The kitchen was well stocked, including water and other goodies. The doorman were beyond nice with lots of suggestions on what to see and where to go. Great apartment in a great location!

We had the pleasure of spending a week in this wonderful mid-town NYC apartment this summer. We loved the location (within walking distance of just about everything) and surrounded by dozens of great restaurants. Our hosts were wonderful and truly made us feel welcome and at home. The location is in a modern building with doormen, a gym, air conditioning, and all the modern amenities you would expect. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone planning to spend time in NYC.

Perfect location - and wonderful apartment

We stayed here with some friends while celebrating my husband's birthday. Everything about our experience was wonderful. We loved how easy it was to explore the neighborhood on foot and were in close proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, and bars. The main living areas of the apartment were spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed spending time on the balcony. Eileen was a gracious and responsive host. We hope to stay here again. Magnificent!!

My sons and I stayed here for a few days to attend a family reunion in NYC. It was a wonderful accommodation, served as a great base for us and everyone thought it was incredible. (I had many years ago lived across the street, so it was also poignant for me.) The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s both elegant and comfortable. Outstanding Apartment and Location

This was our first VRBO. We loved it! For our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 larger teenagers) the space and utility of the apartment made it so much more comfortable than a hotel. The apartment itself was great. It was spacious, spread over 2 floors with a beautiful spiral staircase connecting the living / kitchen areas to the sleeping and bathroom arrangements. Downstairs the kitchen was modern and well equipped. The living room was well appointed with high quality furnishings including a fabulous sectional where we could relax after a hard days sightseeing. Upstairs the master suite was large with a queen bed and good-sized en-suite. The second sleeping area (also with a queen bed) was a loft type arrangement open to the first floor by day and partitioned off at night by vertical blinds. The second sleeping area also had its own bathroom (a big benefit for our family). In addition all of the living areas had dedicated a/c coverage (essential when we visited 90deg+ over the 4th of July). In addition to the generous indoor living spaces the apartment also has a balcony that we appreciated in the evenings. The building also has a 24hour reception / concierge. They really could not have been more helpful with advice on directions, attractions, etc.,. Location-wise (near the UN) the apartment was great for us. We could walk to wherever we needed to go (20mins to Times Square) or to the nearby subway (<10mins). There are also lots of great restaurants nearby on 2nd ave. Finally, our interaction with the attentive owners really made us feel welcome. We were greeted by a bottle of Prosecco on the dining room table and a welcome note. Eileen in particular regularly checked-in with us by phone/text to make sure everything was perfect. They even prepared a list of recommended restaurants nearby the apartment that we used to our benefit. We will definitely stay here again, and again, and again!
