Cortijo de piedra del siglo XVIII, piscina privada climatizada, terreno propio

Cortijo de piedra y granito del siglo XVIII al final de un largo camino privado. Ubicado en su propia parcela de 4 acres de tierra principalmente de pasto. Ubicado en una zona rural completamente privada, está a poca distancia de todos los servicios (a 7 km de Sees). La casa es espaciosa y, aunque tiene solo tres dormitorios, tiene capacidad para dormir al menos diez mediante el uso de un gran entrepiso. La casa, aunque totalmente restaurada, está amueblada con antigüedades en todas partes. Hay dos baños en la casa principal más una ducha adicional en el edificio del gimnasio y la sauna, clausurando la piscina. Hay una sala de estar de buen tamaño y un comedor separado con mesa y sillas antiguas para 10 personas. La cocina está bien equipada y tiene su propio horno de pan original. Con su calefacción central de gasoil, así como una gran chimenea en el comedor La Guelandiere es un lugar ideal para pasar unas acogedoras vacaciones de otoño o invierno.

Family holiday.

Lovely unique property. Peaceful setting. Unfortunately the photos are out of date. The lavender around the pool has died & the pots of herbs have met a similar fate. Weeds growing up between paving around pool were also unwelcome. We also experienced a problem with ticks not helped by a lot of the outside grass area having been left uncut . We tried going for a walk around the paddock but we all got ticks on us. Kitchen floor needed a good deep clean and I had to clean the front of the kitchen units on arrival. Despite this kitchen well equipped. Bedrooms a good size. Beds comfortable and bed linen good. We did enjoy our stay but felt the garden and plants around the property needed a lot of attention. Downstairs shower room needs a coat of paint. Mixed feelings from family members but overall a pleasant holiday.

Lovely host

House is in a lovely area with good amenities. We had a few issues with the house but Caroline (host) done everything she could to resolve issues in a timely manner. We would probably stay again if we were staying in the same area

Lovely, spacious, quiet.

If you want a place to chill with your family in a great house, in lovely grounds but still close enough to the shops this is it. The house is lovely inside and full of character. The pool is a great size and the sauna and gym are great extras. Caroline is a really good host and we hope to return.

The property was much bigger as we expected; the garden and the swimming pool and gym were excellent. Internet was 100%. Kitchen/ stove were very fine; the dishwasher had an errorcode but we managed to overcome the probleem with the help of Youtube. Powersupply was a problem due to some errors with the pool, but the owner Caroline and her French staff tried to to fix the problem. Caroline was very helpfull to us by refunding us a dinner in a local restaurant for the inconvenience.

Séjour très agréable

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce logement, l'espace autour de la maison est très plaisant. Malgré la météo, nous avons pu profiter complètement de la maison et son extérieur. La table de ping pong a notamment fait beaucoup d'heureux ! Je recommande et je reviendrai sûrement ! Merci beaucoup à Caroline & Emilie et son mari pour l'accueil et les coups de main apportés

Urlaub im momentanen Zustand nicht empfehlenswert

Das Haus ist okay, die Sauberkeit im Haus leider nicht. Überall Spinnenweben, in der Küche klebte alles, der Kühlschrank war nicht gereinigt, der Gastgrill verdreckt. Außen war überall Unkraut und der Poolbereich war mehr als reparaturbedürftig. Die Platten auf der Treppe zum Pool sind locker und die Umrandung vom Pool ebenfalls. Das Wasser im Pool war grün und schleimig. Wir sind nach einer Übernachtung wieder abgereist,, da es für unsere 5 jährige Enkeltochter zu gefährlich war. Die Eigentümerin war sehr kulant und hat uns den vollen Preis erstattet.

Mooi maar verwaarloosd

Het huis en de locatie zijn simpelweg prachtig, we hadden een geweldige tijd. Jammer dat het huis een beetje verwaarloosd is. Het was er erg vuil, de verwarming van het zwembad werkte niet (werd deels opgelost), en het warme water erg schaars. Al bij al toch een fijne vakantie

Séjour très agréable

Grande maison située au milieu de la forêt avec un grand terrain (au calme). Tout confort (cuisine équipée, piscine chauffée, salle de fitness, sauna, barbecue, lave-linge, sèche linge...) Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable en famille. Merci à Caroline d'avoir toujours répondu à nos besoins.

Beautiful Environment

Nice house and beautiful setting. We had a lovely stay in a very quiet environment. A few points of attention: the house is described for 8 to 10 persons. But we think it is best for 6 persons. When we wanted to shower the water was cold after two persons who took a quick shower. We had nuisance from a lot of hornaars/big wasps, they were even in the house and bedrooms when we opened the windows. So it would be good to install flyscreens on the windows because we couldn’t open them for fresh air. But despite of these inconveniences we had a great holiday!

Séjour très agréable

Nous recherchions une maison au calme pour se détendre au milieu de la nature = cette ferme est comme posée au milieu des bois, nous avons même pu construire une petite cabane très rudimentaire avec nos enfants dans la forêt juste à côté ! La maison est grande, fonctionnelle, bien équipée et avec un décor très authentique français avec des meubles de grandes qualités, les chambres sont spacieuses, nous nous sommes très vites sentis comme chez nous ! La piscine est très grande, avec des transats tout le long offrant une vue et une sérénité tellement appréciable, c’est comme si le temps c’était arrêté ! Il y a également une salle de sport très bien équipée ! D’autre part, Caroline la propriétaire est très agréable et extrêmement disponible ! Très bon séjour :-)

A great place to unwind with family and absorb the local culture

The property is simply idyllic set in its own private grounds in the lovely Orne region. Conveniently situated near Sees in between Argentan and Alencon provides so many options for things to do and see that a week is simply not enough. The farmhouse has a lovely warmth and homely feel. It is equipped with everything you could need. We had a wonderful stay here and would not hesitate to recommend and or return next year. Thank you Caroline for sharing your beautiful home in France. It was our best family holiday to date and we look forward to returning again next year. Our only criticism is that we only booked for one week!

Fantastic family holiday

Our second stay in the last two years and again our family enjoyed our stay. The farmhouse location and facilities are excellent. Highly recommended if you want a quiet place to stay, but with easy access to roads and rail.

Relaxing break in beautiful surroundings

We had a lovely stay in this property. The property is in an idyllic rural location but just a short drive to Sees with plenty of shops and restaurants. The property itself was clean with an authentic French feel, the outside was beautiful and a real suntrap round the pool. As is typical to French farmhouse type properties it was a little chilly inside downstairs in the evening so pack a jumper and a pair of socks if the weather isn’t great but if it is you’ll hardly spend anytime inside!! Thank you for a lovely stay

Wonderfully Peacful Property

Our stay offered us time to relax in a lovely peaceful setting. The outdoor space offered all we needed to relax with plenty of seating to follow the sunshine with the bonus of the pool, well equipped gym and sauna. The BBQ was great for al frecso cooking and dining, eating and drinking at the lovely large patio table surrounded by grape vines. Sees was very close, providing all we needed from local supermarkets and a great bakery for our morning croissant whilst taking in the calm surroundings. As a bonus we were lucky enough to watch deer graze in both the morning and evening. The one problem we had with the pool was dealt with very quickly by Paula the local contact with no impact on our enjoyment whatsoever. Thank you for sharing your home.

Just what we wanted!

We had an amazing week, the place was in the middle of the forest sourrounded by lush green. The kids loved the pool, the grandparents loved the old house and the decor, and we loved that we could spend time with the family. In 2 words loved it!

Relaxing hideaway with great pool and facilities.

We spent a very enjoyable 10 days with old friends from the USA, at this well equipped property. The generous interior space and a number of terraces made for a variety of environments to spend time in as the sun moved over each day. The heated pool was a big hit. As it was very hot we made little use of the gym and sauna which would have been a good alternative for cooler or rainy weather. Outings to Sees and Alencon were good and we also explored other towns and restaurants in the area. Caroline responded promptly to all our enquiries during the booking process and the local house manager Paula was on call for any issues during our stay. A good overall experience. Thanks Caroline.

Lovely building let down greatly by the housekeeping

We stayed for a week in June and enjoyed getting out and about in the area; luckily, the weather was pretty good overall. The building itself is very nice but when we were there it was not clean......amongst other things, the shower was absolutely filthy, the French doors were barely transparent, the floors were grimy underfoot and there was a big pile of filled dog waste bags on the window ledge which we had to dispose of! We had high hopes and were very dismayed with the cleanliness of the property throughout. I sent the owner some photographs and the owner has apologised and said there's not been a problem before. The gardens are large and there is plenty of space, with a large seating area outside the kitchen. The pool is great. If you have a dog, be sure to use a tick treatment as ours picked a couple up........the spot on did the job. Unfortunately, due to the housekeeping, we would not want to return to this property.

Maison chaleureuse en pleine nature

Nous avons passé un week-end prolongé entre ami dans cette petite ferme située à 15 min d'Alençon. La maison est très bien équipée (salle de sport, terrasses, salon, salle à manger, grande cuisinière, et grandes chambres). Une piscine extérieure chauffée est également présente, même si nous n'avons pas pu en profiter à cause de la saison. La maison se situe au bout d'un chemin, sans voisins autour, uniquement une forêt et une clairière. A proximité immédiate de la voie rapide Sées-Alençon (pas un bruit!), son emplacement est idéal pour vsisiter l'Orne. Caroline est une propriétaire disponible et attentionnée. Nos échanges ont toujours été rapides et efficaces.

A wonderful retreat

We have stayed in several properties in the local area, while visiting family and this is far the best. The property is very spacious and well equipped, we all like to cook, so rarely eat out and there was everything we needed, particularly loved the pots of fresh herbs on the patio near the kitchen door. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds with nice linen. Everywhere was clean and the house was a pleasure to be in. The grounds are lovely and although not warm enough to sit out, we enjoyed he privacy and freedom. Our young labrador was in his element, We would certainly recommend this property, you will not be disappointed. Hope to return very soon.

Truly unique

Excellent value for money, amazing pool for kids

Family of 7 including grandparents and children aged 15, 10 and 5 years old. We have just unpacked after a very relaxing week that involved little more than eating, shopping and swimming!!! Caroline, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and offered lots of help in the planning stage including researching opening times for supermarkets and the best place to horsehide for a beginner. The property was clean and well prepared for our arrival with very clear instructions on how to use everything. The house is large and well equipped with excellent bedlinen and the kitchen contains everything you need. I made good use of the dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier and have just arrived home with only half a load of washing which is always a bonus. I would recommend taking more towels (pool and house towels are provided) if you have kids like mine that will swim three times each day as we very quickly used up the house supply. This trip was approximately our 15th to France and this is definitely the warmest, cleanest and most enjoyable pool that our kids have been lucky enough to use. The gym and the sauna are just an added bonus! There was ample provision for outside seating for all of us with plenty of sunbeds around the pool and the bbq and patio area were also used regularly. We only really ventured out to eat a couple of times and we took the kids karting which was great fun. Apart from that, we lazed around and enjoyed the beautiful pool and garden - a great week for all of us. We paid 'high season' prices for a week in August and I can tell you (as someone who has rented many, many times) this house offers truly great value for money. My only complaint is that the sun didn't shine a little bit more! Thanks Caroline - you have been a wonderful host.

Highly recommended.....our second visit!

Just returned from our second stay at La Guelandiere and it was fantastic once again! Very secluded and peaceful but close enough to the delightful town of Sees. First time we visited Paris and did lots of trips, this time we spent most of the time at the pool. Our kids loved the pool, keep and eye on them but with roman steps and shallow sides, even at the deep end, they will enjoy it. Remember this is the countryside, with wonderful wildlife to match, we saw wild boar, deer, dragon flies etc etc! Lots of room in the house to chill out and get away from the heat of the summer. Once you find the entrance to the long private driveway through the woodland, you will be taken in by the tranquil location. (Follow the owners directions to the entrance very carefully and you will be fine) I would highly recommend this farmhouse for families and for those wanting a base to discover the local area. Paris on the train, lakes just a short drive away, local towns and cities to explore......what more could you ask for. The owners are exceptionally nice to deal with and will ensure that you have a brilliant holiday! We'll be back.....again!
