Excellent communication throughout, including whilst at the property. Accommodation was lovely, we had everything we needed and the welcome pack was thoughtful.Swimming pool was a well used, even in January! The pool room itself was toasty warm, wonderful.

What a Fabulous cottage - it is bigger than it looks in the photos. 9 adults stayed for our family celebration and there was loads of space and lovely warm accommodation in January. The kitchen was well stocked and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The 2 lounges were relaxing and the games room was excellent. Having a heated indoor swimming pool was the icing on the cake - a large pool too! Parking was easy for at least 3 cars. Location is amazing with lovely view over the fields and the atmospheric Wreckers Bar just a mile away overlooking the crashing waves. Jill was incredibly helpful and kind - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Jill and Chris for letting us stay in your amazing cottage. We hope to return.

Gill & Chris were great communicators and have a gorgeous thatched home. The pool was surprisingly large and at a perfect heated temperature. With a real wood fire, plenty of games to play, and brilliant location for coastal walks, it was the most fantastic setting for a long weekend.

We arrived with no trouble finding the property thanks to the easy directions provided. On entering we naturally started exploring and quickly found a welcome hamper that was very well thought out and much appreciated. The homemade bread and biscuits were delicious. The property is well laid out, clean and comfortable and lots of little touches here and there really added to our stay.The pool is great and there are lots of accessories to add to the fun if wanted.There is outdoor seating and we were able to have a few meals outside enjoying the peace and the view.Plenty of room for the dogs, although 2 of ours decided to go through the gate a couple of times to see the dogs next door, but this didn't seem to be any problem! This is a property full of character and you get a real sense of its age, but the bathrooms are modern, showers are great and we never ran out of hot water. The kitchen has all you need.The games room is good fun too with lots to choose from, pool and table tennis was our goto!!!All in all we had a great 2 weeks, the hosts are available if you need them, but we had no issues. Thankyou Jill and Chris, we will recommend Orchard Cottage to anyone having a holiday in the south west

We had a wonderful time in Orchard Cottage. The house was lovely and we loved the welcome pack. The pool was fantastic, the best we've ever had. It was so good to get into a lovely warm swimming pool without it taking your breath away. We had a dishwasher switch issue but once we contacted Chris and Jill they arrived within 15 minutes to investigate and the dishwasher was replaced with a new one within an hour. Thank you both for everything!

Perfect accommodation for our family of 9.Lovely peaceful location. Great walks across the fields and cliff tops without having to use the car.Hartland Quay Hotel ,excellent for food and scenery which takes about 30 mins walk from the cottage.Swimming pool was perfect. Best family holiday getaway

Wow wow wow. This cottage is outstanding.

Stayed in this quirky cottage for 10 days for a family celebration, 6 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs. The cottage is very spacious and we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen has so many utensils, plates, cups and a draw full of tea towels. More than enough room around the table so we could all sit down together. Beds were extremely comfortable and plenty of extra towels if we needed them. The heated pool was a big hit and used every day along with the games room. Arrived to find it very clean and the lovely addition of a welcome basket with the most delicious home made brownies inside along with wine and chocolates. The outside space had room enough for 3 cars and was very secure for the dogs. The surrounding area is gorgeous with lots of lovely walks. We even went to the church down the road for coffee and home made cake! The communication with the owners Jill and Chris was excellent and they kept us up today when a tree took out the internet. We can not recommend staying at this cottage enough. It's been an amazing holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Pool was a great hit

Excellent holiday to celebrate an 8th and 60th birthdays.Everyone loved the pool, gamesroom and the views were to die for.The welcome basket was a lovely touch and we even purchased some of the delicious eggs to take home along with some honey.A lovely relaxing week. Orchard Cottage Family Holiday

The property was very well equipped. Had lots of games to play should the weather not be great. The pool was lovely and clean and warm.Very good location, easy access toPubs and restaurants. A short walk to beautiful costal walks.

We had a lovely winter get away at the cottage, the pool was a HUGE hit with the kids and the place was perfect for us all, kids played in the pool room a lot and also had the separate living rooms for them to chill out in, place was great and Jill & Chris always responded quickly to any messages etc, will hopefully be back soon Thank you for a great week away

A lovely stay

The house was lovely and our multigenerational extended family and pooches had a lovely time. The house was very well equipped and well presented. The welcome basket of goodies was nice too. We only had two issues. The pool is lovely and a great size. However there is a very steep step down into it which makes it extremely difficult for those with mobility issues to access it. This was a real shame as one of our party was unable to use the facility. Otherwise everything was really lovely.

Summer holiday

Our extended family really enjoyed their stay.Comfortable cottage although lay out of bathrooms not very convenient. Great location and excellent pool and games room. Bjørn the chef gave us a lovely meal. Some garden furniture in the lawned garden would have been nice - outside dining table was in the car park.

Home away from home, without the stress.

The property is stunning and has something for everyone. It was clean and the kitchen well equipped so we could happily eat in, although there are some nice places to go to if you drive. On arrival there was a lovely hamper and welcome note and detailed books listing places to visit and various pubs and eateries. As the weather wasn't the best toward the end of our stay it was made bearable by having the games room, indoor pool, card table and roulette wheel. Many a fun night had by all. Thank you Chris and Jill.

Amazing place

We had a wonderful 5 days here. The house is much bigger than it shows in the pictures. Jill was very helpful and the location is great to get to the beach and some stunning walks and of course the huge heated pool went down well with all. Would definitely come back.

Beautiful and peaceful

Amazing location. beautiful cottage equipped with everything you need. comfy beds. Very peaceful, view to die for. Grateful for the games room of an evening, or all the board games. lots of space lots of little nooks and crannies, A fab addition of the large heated swimming pool with lots of pool toys/ floats for any younger people . lovely kitchen, neighbours sell hunny and eggs, very welcome. Beautiful walks past the gorgeous church. enclosed garden for the dogs. loved watching the bats swirl around and the owls hooting. A lovely stay, definitely recommend. Hosts were amazing. A welcome pack was a nice touch. Remember to pick milk and bread / butter up before you arrive as shop is in Hartland. Clovelly was lovely, Bude beach, and Hartland abbey, hartland quay, all amazing. would definitely go again.

Lovely quiet break

Amazing cottage, lovely size indoor pool which was fab for rainy days. The owners catered for everything you can think of, with plenty of things to do inside. Pool, air hockey, table tennis and more. You do need a car to get to the shops as it’s quite a walk on foot. Great for large groups as there is plenty of room here.

Awesome family break

Would it work out? It was the first time we attempted a family holiday and were not sure how it would go? Bear in mind we are a mixed and lively group of 12 including two geriatrics and two babies under 5 months!! I had my doubts as to how it would work out but inwardly reasoned that you can put up with anything for a few nights. But, how wrong I was. This experimental family break was totally brilliant. This wonderful, superbly equiped cottage hit the spot with everyone and the fabulous pool and amazing games room transformed it into something beyond our youngsters wildest dreams. Afternoons on the beach were followed by swims in the poll and rounded off with table tennis tournaments! The host's, Jill's, helpful and accommodating can-do approach set the tone of this truly wonderful family break.

Beautiful cottage, endless fun

Me and my family ages ranging from 66 - 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the pool was amazing and well used by all, the cottage was clean and well equipped for all 10 of us and the games room was an added bonus. Although the weather wasn't on our side - the door into the pool room from the cottage was so handy! We would 100% recommend this cottage and nothing was too much trouble for the owners.

Amazing Cottage in the Countryside

Absolutely stunning property with everything you need, our extended family and Buddy the Spaniel thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We made great use of the lovely warm swimming pool and the local countryside walks. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing place to stay

Beautiful property. Clean, tidy and well though out. Communication with host was easy, helpful and friendly, and check in was easy. All guests absolutely loved the stay and the house itself, the pool was such a nice bonus. Probably one of my favourite NYE in recent memory, thank you soooo much for hosting us!

Orchard Cottage is perfect for the family holiday. You pool to keep the children amused, the games room if they’re a bit wrinkly from the water and the garden to relax in. Having the downstairs double bedroom makes it perfect for all ages and having a second lounge means the kids can be gaming in one room while the adults watch tv or chat over a meal in the other room. It’s charming, perfectly located and versatile. Many of our guests have been coming for over 10 years. Once you find Hartland, there is a certain charm about it that keeps you coming back.
