We are very saddened that our house did not live up to your expectations, and that you did not enjoy yourself. We have been hosting holiday makers here for over 13 years and in that time we have had, on the whole, mostly people come and have a great time with loved ones. We do appreciate any and all feedback as we are constantly working on improvements in the house and on our guest experience. When issues do arise we always do our utmost to address them without delay and we would have much preferred the opportunity to address your issues in person and while you were here. Our mobile phones are always on and it would have taken 2 minutes to switch on the heating (which had not been on all summer and is rarely required in early September). It was an exceptionally rainy weekend when you stayed, TV'S and internet are very hit and miss in this area especially in wet weather, a call or text and we would have immediately got you re-tuned to the strongest service. Likewise bulbs would have been instantly replaced. We don’t usually allow such a large number of dogs in a booking. There is an additional charge for dogs and we always make sure we are clear on the phone about how much there will be to pay, it is unfortunate this information was not relayed to you. During your stay, the pool house changing rooms unfortunately flooded - this was due to 3 dog balls making their way into the guttering. These have been removed. The pool is hired twice weekly by a professional childrens’ swim school and is usually popular with guests. The house has not had a cinema screen for 3 years, we replaced it with a large TV as guests had difficulty using the screen set-up. We have removed all mention from our own advertising but have no control over 3rd party websites. Our 'awful' garden with BBQ, firepit and secluded terraces is usually a hit with guests. We have hosted over 50 weddings here with couples choosing the garden for their ceremony after viewing it. Although it does come into its own in fine weather. Our cleaning service is a professional local company and we have reported the comments to them, they sincerely apologise if you found the cleanliness below parr. Thank you again for your feedback, it’s a shame we didn’t get the opportunity to make your stay better.
