Moderna casa de vacaciones en la costa de Maine en un entorno precioso

Esta casa fue construida a medida en 2011 y se ve completamente nueva. Cuenta con un amplio y abierto salón y comedor, con una cubierta envolvente que da al río; una suite privada para invitados en el primer piso con dos dormitorios y baño propio; una inmensa suite principal en el segundo piso con vestidor, baño doble, mucha luz y su propia terraza privada; y una nueva sala de TV / juegos en la planta baja.

Situado en el corazón de la península Blue Hill de Maine, Camp Stream se encuentra en un lote de seis acres en un entorno rural justo en el río Bagaduce, que se puede ver desde casi todas las habitaciones de la casa. Tendrá toda la tranquilidad y privacidad que pueda desear. Hay un camino rápido desde la casa hasta el río donde puede lanzar su kayak, canoa o tubo flotante.

La cocina cuenta con electrodomésticos nuevos y está totalmente equipada con todo lo que necesitará, así como una gran despensa. Ofrecemos toallas y ropa de cama, y una lavadora y secadora están disponibles para su uso. Hay WiFi gratuito y TV vía satélite. Si te has alojado en Camp Stream antes, notarás algunos cambios. Somos nuevos propietarios, y hemos redecorado y amueblado completamente la casa, llevándola a un nivel superior sin perder nada de su encanto o comodidad. También notará que hemos terminado por completo la gran sala en el sótano, completa con sus propias vistas de Bagaduce, y la hemos convertido en una moderna sala de TV / juegos / familia.

La casa se encuentra en un claro claro y soleado justo en el río, con mucho espacio para divertirse al aire libre y barbacoas (hay una parrilla de gas). Más allá del claro hay gruesas maderas verdes en un lado y el suave Bagaduce en el otro. NUEVO PARA 2017: Hemos adelgazado los árboles a lo largo del río, para permitir una vista mucho mejor desde la cubierta, y hemos construido el camino hacia el agua para practicar kayak, etc. Encontramos la ubicación tranquila y hermosa, y las vistas cambian constantemente.

Beautiful Setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Sedgwick. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The views of the river and surrounding woods were absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend staying at this home.

Great retreat in a great location

This is our third time staying at this property, we love it so much. Owner is communicative, the house and grounds are lovely and clean with a well stocked kitchen and pantry! This location is perfect for quick trips to MDI, Ellsworth, Castine, Stonington, Blue Hill, and Brooklin!

Wonderful Week at Camp Stream

Wonderful stay!

This property was wonderful inside and out. We had wonderful views from the living room, bedrooms, and deck. The property was situated near the river and the yard was landscaped with beautiful flowers and bushes. It was a delight to use the kitchen which was equipped with everything we needed. Spacious and comfortable

This was our second stay in this house and it was just as perfect as before. There is plenty of room to spread out for privacy or congregate in the living room area to socialize (or just gaze out at the water). The weather was perfect, allowing us to take the mail boat/ferry from Stonington to Isle au Haut for hiking. We hope to be back again next year.

Vacation Gem

Gorgeous, quiet location right on the Bagaduce River. The lovely town of Blue Hill is a stone's throw away. We rented kayaks from the Activity Shop and went out every morning, then followed that with a hike on one of the Blue Hill Heritage Trust hikes nearby. The house is extremely well-appointed with everything you could possibly need for a pleasant stay. Our family has been renting this property for a week in the summer for a few years now.

Family Getaway

Wonderful newer Home well stocked with all the living items necessary for a great stay. Kayaks and spacious deck were a hit . Lovely Riverside Getaway

Modern well appointed home located next to the quiet Bagaduce river. Outstanding kitchen, stupendous master suite on the top floor, well set up entertainment room in the finished basement, lovely covered outdoor eating area just off of the kitchen. Our only dismay was the the need for a shade on the sliding door in the master bedroom (privacy is not an issue but the morning light would wake me). We would come back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful home on the Bagaduce River

Comfortable, clean, and the best-stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a rental. Beautiful views of the Bagaduce River. The host was immediately responsive when we had a minor problem. We enjoyed the deck, the grill, the hammock, and the outdoor dining area. Near to good grocery and fish stores. Ceiling and two tall fans helped in hot weather (no AC). The home is a little isolated; we enjoy being able to walk into a town.

Idyllic setting

We have stayed in several vacation homes in the Bar Harbor area before, and 1 Camp Stream was by far the best! Gorgeous view from the wrap around deck (that the pictures don't do justice) in a very peaceful and serene setting. This is a lovely, modern, well-appointed home, complete with every detail needed to enjoy your stay (loads of kitchen equipment, games, entertainment center), every modern convenience and super clean! We had never stayed on the Green Hill Peninsula before and found it to be much calmer than MDI with far less traffic and crowds. There are plenty of quiet places to hike, kayak, and all sorts of excellent eateries. We absolutely loved our stay here and hope to return sometime soon.

This house is amazing - roomy, clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, beautifully landscaped and many items that you need for your stay are provided for. The views are fantastic and the area offers many wonderful opportunities for exploring nature, and shopping/supermarkets are within a 20 min drive. The only downside was seeing that the property has several surveillance cameras in the outer areas where you would expect to be hanging out (deck, hammock, front) which do not appear in the main property photo in the listing. I know for security purposes owners like to put these in, and I cannot say for sure they were connected/on but still, it felt invasive. Nevertheless, we had a great time and would love to visit the area again.

Another wonderful year

This was the second time we've stayed at Douglas' house. We love that the location has easy access to Blue Hill, Castine, and Stonington. The house is clean and has all the kitchen equipment you will ever need, and more. The lower level/basement has a very comfortable seating area for movie nights. The bedrooms are comfortable and the master is very large. The sun comes up early so bring eye shades! Douglas clearly takes good care of this home, and went the extra step for us when VRBO tried to over charge us. Thank you!

Outstanding

Loved it! It’s a 60 minute drive to Acadia Nat’l Park, and only about 30 minutes for all the other places we visited. Great hiking in Blue Hill, Holbrook Sanctuary and of course at Acadia. We had fun watching/visiting/purchasing pottery from Mark Bell at his Pottery studio. We enjoyed mornings and evening relaxing in the home and out on the deck! Watched deer each day, kayaked in the river, played new board games, cooked fresh lobster purchased from Greenhead Lobster, fresh off the boat in Stonington! The kitchen had it all! The owners have gone above and beyond. We’d highly recommend this property!

Magical

Of all the properties we have stayed at over the years, this one is a winner in the amenities, comfort, and kitchen categories. The amenities we used included a reliable WiFi, and streaming services, washer and dryer. We did not use the outdoor grill or kayak or hammock or games provided, but imagine a family with children would use these. As far as comfort, the bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and there were numerous sitting areas and dining spaces indoors and outdoors. The kitchen was truly the best stocked of any rental we’ve seen! This allowed us to prepare more meals “at home” and then dine on the outdoor covered deck with a beautiful water view. Lastly, the flower gardens were well maintained and delightful. I stay here again and again!

Excellent in every way

This is a well appointed and comfortable house in our favorite part of Maine, with a very accommodating host. With Lee (then a hurricane) barreling toward the Downeast region on our scheduled departure day, Douglas graciously allowed us to extend our stay. The house is spacious with everything a guest might need, and more. I'd swap my kitchen layout for Douglas' in a heartbeat. There are wonderful views of the Bagaduce throughout the house. The property is large and private while just a 10-minute drive to Blue Hill. Despite the unusually damp weather for September, we got in many of our favorite hikes (Blue Hill Mountain, Barred Island, Great Pond Mountain, and Crockett's Cove) plus a few new trails (Harriman Point Preserve is a winner). We were also pleased to find that the Barncastle restaurant is under new management with a wonderful menu. We enjoyed dinner there one night. If you have to work, the internet is strong and reliable. Or if you have a rain day, there are plenty of cushy chairs and sofas for reading and admiring the scenery, We look forward to staying again in 2024.

Camp Stream

We walked in and immediately felt at home - beautiful decor, beyond clean, and the kitchen! I can surely see why so many of the reviews are repeat visitors. I have a new solo Adirondack Guideboat - the Bagaduce was so perfect for rowing. Then there were all the hikes, exploring Deer Isle, trips to Acadia. All that and we were blessed with a week of great weather. Appreciated the prompt and helpful communication with Douglas. Still remembering little things like the neighbor that had her garden produce out every day on the honor system! Oh, and we did water everything and even weeded the flower beds. It was a pleasure! We live at the Jersey Shore, about 45 minutes outside New York City. Having grown up in Philadelphia and South Jersey, respectively, neither one of us ended up too far from home! One of us an a corporate attorney, and the other is a hotel and restaurant manager. We love to travel ourselves, and we take special pride in offering our guests everything we think they'll need to get the most enjoyment from their time in Maine.

We fell in love with coastal Maine many, many years ago (one of us first vacationed there in the 1970s!), and we are delighted to have our own little slice of the coast to call our own and share with others. We spent several summer seasons combing the real estate offerings in the mid-Coast region, and our minds just kept coming back to this house. Finally, we realized: Camp Stream was the place for us -- no need to keep looking! We hope you will feel the same way.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The setting of this house can't be beat. Nestled in its own little clearing, with the Bagaduce River flowing by just several yards away, the house fits in perfectly with its surroundings. Its open floor plan, emphasizing light and panoramic views, combined with a wrap-around deck (with still another deck off the master bedroom), works perfectly to blend the outdoors and the indoors. The previous owners took wonderful care of it and made many wonderful design choices, including two large 'walls of windows' in the living room and master bedroom.
