Bienvenido a nuestro paraíso en el sur de Grecia. Una casa de piedra de 350 años bellamente renovada con muchas características originales situada en Pyrgos, un pueblo griego tradicional. 7 minutos en coche al mar / playa. A 45 km del aeropuerto de Kalamata (KLX).

El espacioso apartamento principal tiene una gran cocina / salón de planta abierta con techos altos de madera y cocina hecha a mano. Un encantador dormitorio abovedado con chimenea. Conectado a través de un pasillo está el segundo dormitorio con muebles antiguos de pino, artefactos orientales y vistas al mar. Finalmente un hermoso cuarto de baño con azulejos italianos. Al aire libre, la gran terraza cubierta de enredaderas es un punto culminante, perfecto para apreciar la vista sobre el mar o disfrutar de cenas relajadas en una noche templada.

Los propietarios viven abajo (a prueba de sonido entre los pisos). Tiene total privacidad, estamos aquí para que sus vacaciones sean lo más cómodas y agradables posible.

Beautiful house in a very little village on a mountain, 10 minutes from the see and beaches. The house has everything you need. Beautiful terrasse with flowers and a good view on the see and valley. Very private and peaceful Lovely welcome from Sophia, she is very kind and helpfull. Every grocery and horeca you need very nearby. The surrounding is stunning. We had a very good Holliday. Thanks for the nice house and good care Sophia and Mogens

Beautiful home with great floorplan! Six luxurious bedrooms each with their own bath allowed for privacy and great sleep. Kitchen and dining area open and spacious with plenty of seating for large groups. Two minute walk to Inlet Beach beach and quick bike ride to shopping and restaurants in Rosemary Beach made it an ideal location. We had a great week!

Everything we expected and more. Sophia and Morgens are wonderful hosts. Wonderful hints for places to eat and things to see and how to avoid any driving problems. We were there for two weeks and wished we could stay longer.

Relaxing days guaranteed at Casa Sophia

We spent ten days in mid-May 2023 in the well-equipped house of Sophia and Mogens who received us very friendly and provided us with good tips, interesting information and small attentions. We don’t miss anything. The house is very individually furnished with a lot of love. Highly recommended.

My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay at Casa Sophia. It's a setting where time slows remarkably and you feel a guilt-free pleasure in having an equally slow pace to your days.I first discovered Casa Sophia back in 2017 while searching the internet for places to stay in Europe. We elected to go to Italy that time but I kept an eye on Casa Sophia. As the years went by I continued to check the VRBO site for the listing, hoping to take advantage of it sometime. There was one year I couldn't find the listing and panic set in. Had the property been sold? Had the owners retired? The next year I found the listing again and I relaxed.We made our decision to go to Greece in November of 2024 and shortly after I made our booking for Casa Sophia for September of 2025. Our hosts, Sophia and Mogens, were very good about keeping in contact with us prior to our visit, answering questions that only hosts could answer. Some people might be concerned that the hosts at Casa Sophia live downstairs from the rental property itself. Not to worry; church mice would be louder than the hosts. Seriously. And when you do want to interact with them, they are right there to answer your questions and assist you in any way that they can.If there are times when you want to add a little action to your day, the coastal towns of Stoupa and Agios Nikolaos are less than a ten minute drive away.

Paradise with a view

Our first impression of Casa Sophia was the description and photo on the website. Following our booking we received a wonderful description of Sophia and Mogens home and, the surrounding area. We drove from the North West of The Peleonnese using the descriptive guide from Sophia and Mogens and arrived, with no hickups, late in the afternoon. The surprise awaited us!!!!! We parked our car out of the village and walked slowly through the narrow, cobbled roads and lanes to the beautiful wrought iron front gates of Casa Sophia. Sophia greeted us with a welcoming smile and showed us through her gorgeous home. Once we stepped onto the terrace and, then inside, the peace came over us. The house offered us all we wished for, including some extra goodies! We made ourselves at home and sorted out our luggage as we had been travelling for 3 weeks. Sophia kindly washed our travel soiled clothing and offered us suggestions of the different possibilities of exploring the mountains or the coastline. We spent our days arising late, enjoying a delicious breakfast on the terrace listening to the birds and gazing at the azure Mediteranean Sea. Off in the car exploring the mountain villages was an adventure and great fun discovering the spots to stop for a Greek salad and coffee - one under a 100 year old Sycamore tree. The Bysantine Chapels and churches are very special in this area and well worth stopping to take a look inside. As it was very hot we always made it to the sea for a late cooling swim, headed back to Pygos, refreshed ourselves and then drove 10 mins to one of the seaside villages for a delicious Greek meal. Thank you very much Sophia and Mogens for our wonderful stay in your home and congratulation on making it such a special place. We will recommend Casa Sophia on the Mani in the Peleponnese to our friends, family and travel agent. Go well both of you. Warmest regards, Kerrie and Rob

Gemütliche Ferienwohnung mit einer phantastischen Terasse mit Meerblick

Sophia ist eine nette und aufmerksame Gastgeberin. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr komfortabel und gemütlich. Eine Grundausstattung mit Speisen und Getränken ist bei Ankunft vorhanden. Das Beste ist die Terasse mit vielen Blumen und Pflanzen. Von dort hat man einen phantastischen Blick auf den Messinischen Golf. Das Dorf Pyrgos ist etwas verschlafen aber mit dem Auto ist man in wenigen Minuten in Stoupa oder Agios Nikolaos.

Tolle Vermieter, immer ansprechbar und sehr umsichtig. Über den gefüllten Kühlschrank bei unserer Ankunft haben wir uns besonders gefreut: Bier, Wein, Brot und Käse. Wie wunderbar. Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig gelegen und liebevoll eingerichtet. Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Urlaub!

Haus mit Charme

Wir haben den Aufenthalt und die Ruhe in diesem geschmackvoll eingerichteten Haus sehr genossen. Die Küche ist prima ausgestattet und die geräumige Terasse lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das Dorf ist malerisch gelegen und hat seinen eigenen Charme. Sophia versorgt ihre Gäste mit Geheimtipps zur Erkundung der Gegend - sowohl das Meer als auch das Gebirge sind gut zu erreichen. Die Kommunikation mit Sophia verlief einfach perfekt. Als wir kurz vor Mitternacht endlich eintrafen, wartete noch ein Snack auf uns. Vielen Dank für alles, liebe Sophia!

Auf Entdeckungsreise

Wir wurden superfreundlich empfangen und Sophia hatte für uns sogar schon etwas eingekauft. Die Lage ist super ruhig und schön gelegen mit Blick auf das Meer. Man kann schön auf der Terrasse entspannen. Das wirklich historische Haus wurde sehr gut restauriert und liebevoll eingerichtet und dekoriert. Die Vermieter sind einfach total nett und jederzeit für Anliegen zur Stelle. Sehr herzlich. Also nur zu empfehlen. Wir haben hier eine sehr schöne Zeit verbracht.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in Sophias Haus. Sophia ist eine sehr nette, herzliche und ausgesprochen diskrete Gastgeberin. Insbesondere die Terrasse mit den tollen Pflanzen war ein absoluter Traum. Auch ihre zahlreichen Tipps für Unternehmungen, Strände und Restaurants waren toll und sehr hilfreich. Gerne immer wieder.

Super Apartment um sich zu erholen

Das Apartment ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Vermieter sind sehr hilfsbereit und haben unsere Fragen präzise und schnell beantwortet. Die Terrasse bietet eine gute Privatsphäre und man kann sogar frische Kräuter aus den Töpfen beim Kochen verwenden.

Altes, sehr gepflegtes Steinhaus für Pflanzenliebhaber

Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, sehr gut ausgestattet (Küche) und obgleich im Dorfverbund gelegen Tag und Nacht sehr, sehr ruhig; auf der Terasse sitzt man herrlich im Grünen. Sofia ist eine sehr zuvorkommende, hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Auto erforderlich, da es in Pyrgos selbst nur ein kleines Kafenion gibt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Kleiner Minuspunkt: Beim Kofferpacken für unseren 4-wöchigen Aufenthalt hatten wir uns auf eine (im Inserat angegebene) Waschmaschine eingestellt, die es dann leider nicht gab.

Yes, we do have a washing machine downstairs and we have offered our guests the use of this over many years. However, even with three large reserve water tanks, in this year of international water crisis we have avoided using the longest washing programmes.

After finding Casa Sophia, and restoring it with my partner and we now live permanently in Greece and it has opened up so many wonderful aspects to life. Apart from renting out Casa Sophia and meeting so many interesting and lovely people, we have accumulated some experience and good contacts throughout the years and also because we live here all year round, we are also able to offer other house owners close by, a variety of services throughout the year.

How I ended up in Greece doing what I do...

Having spent many years in the fast lane in I.T. , and spending all my holidays trekking and travelling, I decided that my love was discovering the beautiful places and people that make up this world. So I gave up work and planned a year travelling around the world. I never regretted one moment of my travels, and after a year realized that I no longer wanted to sit behind a desk in an office in a city. So I borrowed my sister's house in Greece to spend a little time deciding what to do next. I knew I didn't want to return to the UK, and 3 days before leaving Greece I found Casa Sophia. I sold everything I had in the UK, and have been here ever since – 17 years. And what an amazing journey that has been. Being here all year round, and deciding to rent out part of Casa Sophia, it seemed right to make Casa Sophia a home from home, and to spend time making the house, garden, and terrace as cosy as possible so that our guests can appreciate the tranquillity of this part of Greece and for them to have time out from their busy lives. Just as I found that peace on my travels. Also being here all year round we found that we could, unlike other rental homes, put time and nurture into Casa Sophia, giving our guests privacy but also support and help when and if they need it. So far a winning combination that we greatly enjoy.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

My sister had had a house here for 22 years and I visited her many times. It was only when I saw Casa Sophia, a village cottage in a very bad state of repair, that I decided to live here in Greece. My love of mountains, sea and history made this village and the cottage the perfect mix for me - all 3 loves rolled up into one package. The little country lanes around the village that can lead to spectacular views of the mountains or entice you to discover more – the quaint old villages in the mountains tucked away out of sight, or to wander down to the little village cafe where the views of the sea and coast are breathtaking and which make you want to dip your toe in the water at one of the many beaches nearby. The village is very old, and has its share of Byzantium chapels and history. It has been a labour of love for my partner and I to make it beautiful and to still retain its roots with all the modern conveniences we expect in these times.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Our favourite things about Casa Sophia. Waking up to the view out of the main bedroom window overlooking the terrace with the vine covered pergola, the arches of jasmin and all our flower pots filled with herbs and flowers, and in the distance the sea. Tranquillity. The garden also a labour of love, growing our own summer vegetables and the beautiful orange tree, a centre piece of the garden with it scented blossom in the spring and sweet oranges in the early summer, and being able to when we can, to share what we have grown with our guests and let them be reminded what old fashioned home grown food, like tomatoes with smell of earth, taste like. Because we are here all year round, we can put all our energy into the garden, terrace and house, making it a home from home. It is so easy here to walk out of the gate and wander through the little alleyways of the village and then perhaps take one of the little lanes outside the village and enjoy the wild flowers that are magnificent here in the Spring, a kaleidoscope of colour including rare orchids and brilliant red anemones. Or follow one of the kalderimis (donkey paths) that are everywhere here. Some lead to the sea and some lead to the mountains – such a choice. The seasons here provide so much diversity – from the colourful early springs, ideal walking weather to the long lazy summers where we watch the sunsets and night sky from the terrace with all the candles lit, and to the warm autumns where you can still swim until quite late in the year from one of the many beaches, each with its own character. Within Casa Sophia itself, we love all the things we have collected here in Greece and elsewhere. There is always something to look at with its own story and at night by candle light, illuminating the old stone arch in the kitchen and the high wooden ceiling reminding us of its past.
