 De las 26 encantadoras cabañas dúplex en la cerrada colonia de Mokuleia Beach, solo cinco se enfrentan al océano; ¡Y este es uno de ellos! Te despertarás con el sonido de las olas, te sentarás en tu lanai abierto y no ver��s más que agua de color aguamarina y el cielo de la mañana. El océano está justo frente a ti, a pocos pasos de distancia. Este bungalow de playa fue diseñado en la década de 1960 y ha sido decorado por un artista nacido en Hawai, cuyas pinturas del océano, el cielo y el paisaje de Mokuleia cuelgan de las paredes..
- LA PLAYA -
 El Sand Dollar Cottage ofrece una vista impresionante de una playa que se extiende por millas en cualquier dirección; Ideal para nadar, caminar y bucear en el arrecife de coral. ¡Rara vez ves a alguien y tienes agua caliente, día y noche!
- EL VECINDARIO -
 Un viaje de doce minutos por un camino rural lo llevará a la famosa ciudad de surf de Haleiwa; donde puede cenar en uno de los muchos restaurantes y comprar ropa, arte local, raspado de hielo y pescado fresco, filetes y productos. The Colony tiene una hermosa piscina solo para huéspedes y cinco minutos por la carretera hacia Ka’ena Point, donde se puede practicar kite surf y paracaidismo..
- DE LOS PROPIETARIOS -
La casa tiene más invitados de regreso que cualquier otro en nuestro inventario, pero después de años de calificaciones de 5 estrellas, recientemente recibió algunas críticas críticas. Los propietarios han tomado estos para el corazón y han abordado todos los problemas de mantenimiento en la casa. A continuación hay una palabra de los propietarios:

Aloha a todos nuestros huéspedes de toda la vida. Quiero que sepas que pasamos un par de semanas en marzo renovación y restauración 13B. Se necesitaba. Encontrará una nueva cocina: mostradores, armarios, fregadero, grifo y una nueva estufa de tapa de vidrio. También hemos pintado la unidad, poner en un nuevo y más alto vanidad, fregadero y grifo, y el nuevo alumbrado del terreno. Hemos restaurado todas las persianas y celosías que lo necesitaban, e incluso agregaron una más potente para una mejor módem WiFi. Dejamos la vista del océano y los atardeceres solos, ya que nadie podía mejorar eso.

Fumar estrictamente prohibido en Mokuleia Beach Colonies, tanto en interiores como en exteriores. El estado de Hawai prohíbe fumar en los parques públicos y en todas las playas. No hay áreas cerca de la unidad designada para fumadores. Estas prohibiciones incluyen los cigarrillos electrónicos.

The view was five star! The outdoor shower was a treat. The property landscaping was another five star. I didn’t meet the host while there, place is set up to take care of yourself. Geckos were kind of a nuisance, not really them being in and out of the house, but it was they left their waist all over the house and on the bedsheets. The amenities were adequate but dated.. Overall I would stay here again. I gave it a four star if I was a picky person it would’ve been a three star.
Sound of the waves crashing against the wall was amazing (4 star)
There is no beach in front of cottage like the picture on VRBO (2 star)
Coffee spot every morning (5 star)

Superior location with stunning views, we loved relaxing on the lanai enjoying ocean breeze, meals and waves. The courtyard feel and size were perfect for us as we do not enjoy mega resorts. Beds were comfortable and also an enjoy ocean view. The location is perfect to be near enough to many attractions, amazing beaches , eateries, shopping and amenities but away from city chaos.The unit is well supplied, better than stated.The downside for us was overall cleanliness was disappointing and the bathroom is just in desperate need of updates, paint and scrubbing. Beds were nicely comfortable ( no headboards , rusty lamps) all other furniture worn way past reasonable but we spent our days exploring and we're mostly happy to bipass hanging in those areas and crash into bed. Somehow the unit is still lovable and we had an outstanding vacation.

Perfect beach front cottage. Only thing I missed was an access to the beach for walking. The cottage was clean, everything in place. The T.V.was a bit challenging, but with help, we figured it out. All in all, it was the perfect North Shore exerience.

It was in a very cute community that was very quiet and nice. The inside of the place was very run down with all the cushions having stains. I wouldn’t exactly call it Beach access. There is sand along the walkway that leads to a stone wall that has access to the ocean. There is no beach right on the property sadly, it only lead to very strong waves crashing against the stone wall all day. There were also many bugs in the inside. There were many lizards inside and a cockroach that had fallen on my husbands face while he was sleeping.

Sand Dollar Cottage

The place was clean and had every appliance needed. However, the pool was closed for repairs during our stay, and the manager was out of town. We were not told there were pay washing machines that took quarters, no credit cards and no change machine. A lot of people don’t have change readily available. In addition we were asked to wash the towels, really? Not the fault of the colony, BUT… there was a cricket outside the bedroom window that went non stop until about 4:00 am. The cottage was abou 10 feet from the ocean so the sounds of the waves were definitely very welcome and relaxing.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A great location on the shore. People there very friendly. Close to everything on the Northshore. Being a bit older we did not sleep well at all, The beds and heat inside the unit kept us uncomfortable . Can use another fan or two. Furniture very uncomfortable too. I’m sure the younger set would do fine.Staying the middle of the summer just too hot.

This was our second stay here at this magical cottage. The oceanfront location is amazing, the grounds are immaculate, the pool is refreshing, the proximity to Haleiwa and Wahiawa is so convenient. The peace and quiet is so relaxing. A touch of old Hawaii. Simply enchanting.

Beautiful and perfect!

I’ve been coming to Hawai’i for 40 years (about 15 trips). This was my favorite stay. The property was outstanding, the community was lovely and the location was perfect. The cottage was even better and more roomy than in the photos and exceeded my already high expectations. It was terrific and I highly recommend it!

Wonderful spot

We stayed for a week in April 2025. Peaceful spot where you can relax to the sound of ocean waves. Cottage is in a wonderful small gated community near the end of the Farrington Hwy. Beautiful nearly empty beaches near by. We did an oceanfront trail ride on horses right next door. Great place if you are looking for something more low key than staying in Waikiki

Beach at the doorstep

Whilst the property is aging a little, it is perfect for those who wish to get away to a peaceful and quiet location but still enjoy the sight and sounds of the ocean.The property has everything you need and we absolutely loved it!

Stunning view, just ok cottage

Wonderful view of the ocean, but the unit itself is very outdated. The shower leaks all over the floor. The grounds are well kept, but again dates.

Vacation get away

The property was very nice and all the people are friendly. Very quiet as well. The unit is right on the water so you get to sit and watch the ocean all day. It was perfect for us.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Always enjoy staying at MBC. The Sand Dollar lanai is my favorite place to hang out and enjoy the trade winds and ocean view. It's sad that there is no more beach access because of the water level and the neighboring homes being threatened to wash away. Hope the State can figure out what to do so that the water doesn't get under the seawalls. Just something to be aware of if you want beach access, you will have to drive down the road.

Hawaiian Paradise

Beautiful location! Can't beat the view. Comfortable furnishings. Everything we needed was right there in the cottage. We loved being able to sit on the patio and just take in the sunrise and sunset and everything in between.

The location, the fragrances of the land, the view, the turtles….Heavenly stay

We’d return in a heart-beat! Loved the outdoor shower, the sound of the ocean hitting the seawall as we slept. So unreal. And we live on the water in California.
