Great Appartement in the Center of Sarlat

Spacious Appartement in an Old Building in the City of Sarlat with perfect views out of every window. Many Restaurants, Shops and Bars in the area. A small but nice Park only 100 Meters away. The Owner Emmanuel was very kind and helpful. I only can recommend this place.

Spacious apartment

The apartment was spacious and very well situated and, luckily, a very short walk up a rather steep hill from the cathedral. The beds were comfy, there was plenty of hot water and a good shower. The apartment had lots of character and a great outlook across to the cathedral. Its courtyard location was reasonably quiet, even though it was close to all the action of central Sarlat.

FANTASTIC!!

This lovely apartment is everything you could want in a beautiful village in the south of France--well decorated, clean, comfortable, lots of space, steps from the old town, romantic evenings with the large windows open and the stars and moon visible. Emmanuel was a most gracious host with ideas for day trips and very responsive to any questions. The apartment has many of the small touches that one often does not think about, but does indeed miss while traveling--Emmanuel has thought of it all! Hoping to go back soon...

Perfect Stay in Sarlat

Located in the heart of the historic center of Sarlat, this apartment met all of our needs, and we're so glad we chose it. There was plenty of space to relax after busy days exploring the Dordogne region. The kitchen was well-equipped, including a coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and washing machine. The location was perfect -- so close to restaurants, shops, and the amazing Saturday morning market where we bought all the makings of a complete meal including wine and charcuterie -- all with local products. Emmanuel, the owner, responded quickly to my initial questions and met us upon arrival, providing helpful information about the apartment and the town. An overall wonderful experience!

Perfect rental in Sarlat!

The location of this 2-bedroom apartment couldn't be better. As the name says, it's right by the Cathedral, which means it's right around the corner from the amazingly helpful tourism office and from cafes, restaurants, bakeries and patisseries. And the twice-weekly market starts at the foot of the street. The recent update of the kitchen and bathroom are well done. The 15-foot ceilings and generous room sizes are wonderful.(The conversion to square feet on the VRBO listing is incorrect--it's about 1000. The owner is looking into getting it corrected) Emmanuel was very welcoming and helpful. We arrived during a cold snap and he quickly arranged a space heater for the back bedroom. The wifi was consistently strong. Thank you so much for a great place to stay in Sarlat. We highly recommend it!

Even better than it looks.

Hard to believe, and I half expected to be let-down when we saw it in person. What the photos do not do justice to is the volume of space and all the windows looking at a fabulous Sarlat. Very nicely appointed, everything you could possibly need, and then a few extra blankets and pillows just in case. Extremely comfortable, and warm, even in the worst part of the winter (which is great because there is no traffic and no tourists. But most restaurants were closed - we managed to pick the off-season and vacation week for businesses but we stayed in and cooked. It was lovely.) Easy to get to (steep streets but you can get close) and parking not a problem. Not a city to visit without a car. The Dordogne Valley is 15m away, and Sarlat is more interesting and larger than the valley towns. (Stayed in Domme last time, much more to do in Sarlat.) Emmanuel sweet, easy to contact, and very nice. Highly recommend.

Amazing view, apartment, location and host!

Our group of three (grandmother, mother and daughter) stayed a week in this characterful, spacious, well-decorated, well kitted-out and well-situated apartment. What a privilege to stay in the heart of medieval Sarlat, with an incredible view from every window and be a stone’s throw away from everything. All this was made even better due to the warmth and kindness of Emmanuel, the owner. He met us personally at the apartment ( no impersonal lock box for him), carried our suitcases and showed us around the place, explaining everything. He gave us his contact details before leaving and then said that he would meet us again, the morning of our departure. Emmanuel arrived Saturday morning and promptly helped me, my elderly mother and my child bring our suitcases and other belongings all the way to our car. He also told us the best and easiest way to leave Sarlat, given that it was busy Saturday market day. We so enjoyed our week’s holiday, staying in this beautiful apartment and very much appreciated the genuinely kind and helpful host that Emmanuel is.

Great site, needs some attention

This apartment was conveniently located in the heart of the old ‘cité’. It was large, comfortably furnished and because it is in a stone building, remained comfortable during 2 weeks of 95F weather. The bathroom was nicely appointed with bathtub and shower. The apartment had a nice washing machine and dishwasher and modern stovetop and oven. There were some features, however, that left us with a negative impression. There was no welcome gift, no notebook of the operation of various features of the apartment and the neighborhood. Certain aspects were sparse: No kitchen towel, placemats or tablecloth; one small roll of toilet paper, no shopping basket. The apartment is advertised as a two bedroom, but when we arrived only one bed had a sheet (we had to ask for a top sheet), the bed in the second bedroom had no linens. This second bedroom in the photos appears to be the main bedroom, but we found it unusable due to a musty (mildew?) odor. Also, when we arrived the Wi-Fi didn’t work and took three days to get it fixed which led to angry words with the proprietor. The television worked for 15 minutes and then lost signal. In summary, we feel the apartment has potential for a pleasant stay but needs attention to the needs and comfort of its guests and therefore we would not return.

Perfekt läge

Vi hyrde bil under hela vistelsen och det är många vackra byar som man når under 20 minuters bilresa från Sarlat la Caneda. Lägenheten ligger centralt i stan och det mesta fanns som vi behövde.

Lovely Stay in Sarlat

The apartment is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen has all of the necessities needed for preparing delicious meals. The apartment location is perfect. We explored the many byways, fetes and parks in Sarlat and were especially enchanted with the cheese cave close by. The Sarlat market held twice a week is around the corner and the source excellent provisions.. Emmanuel was a great help in getting settled and very responsive to any questions. I will return as soon as I can.

Perfect Week in Sarlat

Met and exceeded all of our expectations. Emmanuel was responsive to all of our questions before our stay. He met us when we arrived, helped with luggage and told us where we could park for free during the week. He thoroughly explained what we needed to know about the apartment. It was clean and the kitchen was well set up for cooking in if one wanted. The location couldn't be better - a 3 minute walk from the main tourist street with restaurants, grocery store and shopping. The single flight of stairs to reach the apartment was well worth it! We highly recommend a stay here; you won't be disappointed.

Sfeervol verblijf in het centrum van sarlat.

De woning ligt in het centrum van de oude stad op de eerste verdieping. Houd rekening met redelijk wat hoogte verschillen voor je er bent want je kunt niet de auto dichtbij parkeren. Er is wél een gratis parkeerplaats maar zeker 10 minuten lopen door het park. Vooral met zware bagage kan dat lastig zijn. Er is van huisraad van alles net voldoende maar is wel een allegaartje. De vaatwasser heeft maar 1 avond gefunctioneerd en ging toen kapot. Er is wél een monteur bij geweest maar die kon het niet repareren. Vervelend voor ons maar door de eigenaar werd geen enkele compensatie aangeboden. De badkamer is ok maar je moet wel douchen in bad waar gelukkig wel een douchegordijn hangt. Het appartement is wél erg gehorig, als er bovenburen zijn hoor je hen constant lopen en aan ons werd ook gevraagde om binnen zonder schoenen te lopen. Kregen daar bij vertrek wél een compliment van de beneden buurvrouw van, een religieuze zuster. Kortom een sfeervol verblijf maar wel met beperkingen.

Recette pour un séjour enchanteur= Prenez un très bel appartement spacieux, clair, confortable. Situez le au cœur du centre historique de Sarlat. Ajoutez un propriétaire fort aimable. A déguster sans aucune modération !

Urlaub im schwarzen Périgord

Wir waren begeistert von unserem Aufenthalt in dem malerischen Sarlat-la-Canéda. Das Apartment ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, es bietet einfach alles, was man im Urlaub braucht. Die Lage mitten in der Altstadt hat uns begeistert ,und Emanuel, der Vermieter, hat dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Jederzeit wieder!
