Cabañas Watauga River- Cabaña Sycamore

Esta cabaña (Sycamore Cabin) es parte de nuestro 'lodge rústico'. Nuestro 'hotel rústico' se encuentra a orillas del hermoso río Watauga, a medio camino entre Johnson City y Elizabethton. El albergue fue diseñado para parecerse a un establo de caballos y se encuentra en 5 acres con más de 600 pies de frente al río y consta de 3 cabañas.

La cabina de abajo Sycamore tiene más de 800 pies cuadrados de espacio habitable. La cabina tiene una cama queen y baño completo en la planta baja. En el loft hay una cama queen, tres camas individuales y medio baño.

Todas las sábanas están incluidas, todo lo que tiene que hacer es recoger algo de comida y traer sus artículos personales, ¡todos los demás artículos se le proporcionarán! La cocina está totalmente equipada con vajilla, utensilios de cocina, tostadora, cafetera y microondas.

La cabina tiene calefacción / aire acondicionado, ventilador de techo, TV de pantalla plana vía satélite (Direct TV es el proveedor), DVD / VCR, servicio de lavandería central y parrilla de gas.

También hay una plataforma de RV completa con servicio de 50 amperios, ubicada en el río. (costo adicional) El lote de RV tiene una terraza privada con vista al río.

Muy conveniente tanto para Johnson City y Elizabethton (10 minutos) como para las estaciones de esquí Roan Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain y Hawksnest (45-60 minutos). Inmediatamente adyacente al albergue se encuentra el río Watauga, que mide aproximadamente 100 pies de ancho y alberga algunas de las mejores pesquerías de truchas en el este de los Estados Unidos. Las especies de truchas en el río Watauga son Rainbow, Brook y Brown, así como varios tipos de Bass y varias especies que no son de caza. Esta parte inferior de Watauga ha sido designada como la "Zona de Trucha de Calidad".

The property was well stocked and up to date. Plenty of space for our family and pet. Warm and welcoming upon our arrival. It was also nicely decorated for the holidays (we stayed in December) which was beautiful. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been an updated heater in the downstairs bedroom as the one provided did not stay on and the room did stay cold, however with lots of layers and extra blankets it wasnt that bad and we didn’t need to address it with the hosts as it didn’t really impact our overall stay.

We had a great getaway weekend! We throughly enjoyed the fire pit and wood splitter on site. Out boys enjoyed hunting for “River treasures” each day. Lots of fun things to do! The only appliance missing was a toaster. They have a toaster oven- works just takes a bit longer. We will definitely stay again!

very nice, tranquil setting right on the river. quiet, clean and accommodating. we had a great time playing in the river, playing horseshoes, spending time with family. the outdoor areas are so nice and relaxing. we will certainly be back when we can!

What’s great place to stay! We had so much privacy and direct access to the river. The place was very clean, the grounds were also very clean well maintained with so much to do. We were just a short drive to downtown Johnson City and the surrounding areas. We had such a great time fishing and hanging out by the river here, we hope we get to go back!

Relaxing

Perfect family getaway

This is about the 8th time that we have stayed on this property. We always stay with many family members and we appreciate that the “campus” can house all of us. We love that we can make our own meals, eat them all together and also play on the property (we had some heated wiggle ball games going) and fish and relax with the river backdrop. The place holds many dear memories for us. This time we had 13 of us staying with 4 extended family join us each day for food and fellowship.

I owned a retirement mobile home park in Florida & sold it in 2019. I am happily retired! My wife is a happily retired Biology teacher. We live in Tennessee from June to the end of October. We winter in a small town in Florida, Frostproof:) We call it chasing the 70's.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The river property came into my mother’s family in the 1890’s. My great grandfather built the family homestead. In 1901 (pre-dam) a flood came and damaged the home. With mules and logs they moved the 3,000 square foot, 2 story home across the creek and placed it on higher ground. Before the dam was built in the mid 1940’s, the river would sometimes look like a creek, at other times it would rise and come out its 50 foot banks. In the winter, the river would freeze and my great grandparents would cut squares of ice from the river and bury it in their home for later use. Before the bridge, there was a natural shelf that allowed the horse and buggies to cross the river in front of the cabins.

The ground was farmed until I received it in 2003. My mother was raised on the property, until she married my father in 1947 and moved to Florida. We vacationed here every year, so I have always loved this place. I wanted a place of my own but hated the idea of having it sit empty most of the time. I am in the rental business in Florida so I decided to build something that could be rented when we are not able to be here. At that time, there were no buildings on the property so I was able to start from scratch. I really like the character of horse barns and thought, why not build one that could house people. So, in 2004, we built the cabins and it has been a great adventure! This past winter, we completed our retirement cabin. The cabin has three bedrooms, three baths, and an apartment on the lower level.
