Hermosa restaurada colonial en el centro histórico

Casa Serena tiene todo el encanto colonial que usted espera en una casa completamente renovada en el corazón del Centro de Mérida.  Se encuentra a solo unos pasos de la Biblioteca de Inglés de Mérida, un centro local para reuniones y actividades de expatriados.

Esta casa colonial está idealmente situada para explorar las galerías de arte cercanas, parques, iglesias históricas y museos, pero también está cerca de las tiendas, cafés y restaurantes culinarios locales por los cuales Mérida se ha hecho famosa.

Le damos la bienvenida al entrar en el vestíbulo de la casa: techos altos con vigas de madera, puertas antiguas restauradas, pisos de pasta alicatados y grandes espacios abiertos.  Encontrará esta cómoda casa decorada con buen gusto, con obras de arte mexicanas únicas que el propietario adorna en las paredes y mesas.  Justo al lado del vestíbulo, encontrará la primera de tres habitaciones bien equipadas con baño privado. La casa duerme 6 personas.  La siguiente es una cómoda sala de estar para relajarse leyendo, escuchando música o viendo la televisión por cable. Esto conduce tanto al comedor interior como a la cocina. La cocina forrada de columnas es el centro de la casa y se combina fácilmente con el patio exterior, la piscina y el comedor exterior que lo rodea.  La moderna cocina está totalmente equipada para satisfacer todas sus necesidades durante su estancia y cuenta con una barra de desayuno para reunirse o comer. Incluso hay una parrilla junto a la piscina para otras necesidades de cocción.

Los espacios exteriores de esta casa, que cuentan con flores tropicales y plantas frutales, son donde la mayoría de los huéspedes terminan relajándose cuando no están explorando la ciudad histórica o las pirámides mayas cercanas, museos y cenotes.  Además de la piscina filtrada de 6 pies por 15 pies en el patio central, hay dos terrazas adicionales en la azotea para disfrutar.  Encaramado sobre la cocina se encuentra un dormitorio recién terminado que da a la piscina y tiene su propio baño.  Más allá de la piscina, aislada en la parte trasera de la propiedad, se encuentra la suite principal y el baño.  Esta habitación es el lugar perfecto para ponerse al día con un sueño bien merecido.

Casa Serena tiene una larga historia de ofrecer a sus huéspedes un retiro céntrico en el centro histórico de Mérida.

What an amazing place. Incredibly close to everything, from convenience stores to restaurants, to little shops, bars, the cathedral, I mean… everything! The house is absolutely stunning!!!! Very family-friendly, too. The floor plan and architecture of this place were absolutely exquisite and felt authentic to Mérida. We are definitely coming back and actually can’t wait. The hosts are so sweet and attentive!!!

Superb location, good communication, plenty of space. Quaint, historic, and grand hacienda.Location: the casa is located just a few minutes to food, fun, and history. However, main bedroom can hear traffic from the street.Communication: property manager was communicative, detailed instructions were provided, all was as described.House: large space, dining, and courtyard. Rooms are separate enough for occupants to have their own space. Except for the main bedroom, all the others are accessible through the courtyard/pool area. Plenty of chill space, chairs, sofas. LOTS and LOTS of books with great information (found a Lonely Planet:Mexico book). The binder had great recommendations for food and things to do. Large doors! This place has history!

Beautiful home, AMAZING courtyard, and as a family with three groups we loved how the rooms were separated to have our own spaces when needed. There was a miscommunication during check in which resulted in there not being a way for us to initially enter the home. They were quick to respond and worked as fast as they could to send someone with the key despite it being late at night. They more than made up for that with their kindness and accommodation. The team went above and beyond by allowing us to stay an hour past check out after our van was damaged. Overall the stay was amazing and we would definitely come back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this place. It felt like staying at a family house, which added to the overall experience in Mérida. While not everything was perfect, it still made for a great stay. After each excursion, everyone had their own space to unwind and recharge. If I had to complain, it would be the keys. I would suggest having one set of keys for the front door and a master key for the rest of the rooms. But other than that, everything else worked well. We would definitely recommend staying here if you want to truly experience Mérida.“Flores Family”

Great place, great location, great hosts

We had a great weeklong stay. It was great to walk everywhere, the area and Merida in general is very safe. The house is very comfortable and well stocked with everything. There is a bar nearby that you can hear music from, but it did not bother us at all. The hosts are very helpful with clear directions.

Great stay

This was our first time to Mérida. The home was lovely and very spacious. We enjoyed the pool in the warm afternoons. Each bedroom has an air conditioner as does the tv room. The house gets very warm (it was 100 degrees F outside) but there are fans and a cross breeze. We only used the aircon at night when we slept. We would definitely stay here again. The location was close to everything. We love to walk but also took a cab or uber a couple times.

This home is amazing. Having a pool to cool down in was great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals. The layout of the property was great for two couples. With plenty of space to ourselves and nice common areas.

Great Stay

We traveled as 4 adults, 2 couples, we really enjoyed our stay here, the location was great, easy walk to get to pretty well anything we wanted to do, restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. Close proximity to bars did mean a bit of music noise, but hey, you're on vacation, it did not bother us at all. The set up of the house would work perfectly for 2 or 3 couples traveling together, each would have their own space/bathroom plus an extra bathroom out by the pool for pool days which was definitely necessary with the Marida heat! Was very handy having laundry available on site and the place was kept clean, would stay again if traveling with other couples again!

LOCATION CLEAN COMFORT BEAUTIFUL

Wow, this was a great stay for me and my family of 5 ! Kids loved the pool and doing yoga at sunrise on the roof top, wife loved to be 5 min walk from the main square, great restaurants, massage, etc, mom loved the open kitchen with all appliances she needed and her beautiful bed room and great bathroom. And I loved the bar at the corner with live music every night, plus two more bars all in walking distance and super safe. I also used the bbq to do some carne asada while everyone was enjoying different parts of the house. Great also to be able to park the car in front of the house. As I said, very safe at any time of the day and night. Also, the communication and support from Gregory and the property management company was stellar! Did not have to wait 5 min for a reply and when we had a minor issue with an appliance they fixed it just a few hours later. The house was very clean and great pressure from the showers. We will certainly be back ! Thank you Gregory !

Incredibly Charming House

This place is even more charming than the photos. Our family of 5 loved staying here for a few days. The separation of the 3 rooms is perfect for privacy. The outdoor space is lovely and the rest of it is equally fantastic. Great location just a couple blocks from tons of restaurants and bars. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

Magical place to stay

Everything in the property evokes history. Gorgeous design, tiles everywhere, loads of privacy between bedrooms, three separate decks, birds singing in the trees, a well-appointed kitchen to cook in, A/C for when needed... utterly perfect. 10.minutes' walk from the main square, and 5 minutes from Santa Lucia park. Icing on cake if you are a jazz/ blues fan: a stone's throw from Dzalbay, where patrons don't say a word during the sets. Heaven!

Great property with some small caveats

Lovely property (with character!), ideal location, very clean. The location in particular was very convenient and walkable. While we did not have a car during our stay it appeared as though street parking would have been fairly easy. My biggest caveat is that, depending on your family, it may not be ideal for children. I was under the impression that two bedrooms were in the same building, and that the third bedroom was in a separate structure/level. However, all three bedrooms are very separate, separated by the courtyard and pool. Neither my son or I was comfortable with him being so far away -- in a separate building essentially, with a deep pool in between and we would not have been able to even hear each other from the separate bedrooms. No issue at all for adults (probably even ideal!) but most likely a problem for most folks with small children (my son and I ended up sharing a room, and the third BR went unused). Also, two AC units didn't work. It took a couple days for a response, at which point someone was sent who was able to fix one unit. They said they would have to return to fix the other but at that point we were near the end of our stay so I declined. The place is clearly very well cared for but would suggest they test all AC units during the cleaning process.

Historical, well stocked, comfortable--perfect!

Three adults--ages 38 to 79, each with an introvert's need for their own space, and a family desire to have time together. This house met our needs! The plunge pool is great after walking around this beautiful city all day, or after an excursion to Uxmal, or the cenotes of Mulkuyche, and the museums. The house is an excellent example of preserving the old--we hung our new hammock from hooks in the walls--to having an excellent kitchen, well stocked, where we cooked either lunch or dinner, because one meal out a day is our favorite pattern. We'd come again. Communications were great. The location is great for walking to parks, to the Gran Plaza, to museums, to shopping areas, to the Mercado. ¡Hasta la proxima!

Colonial comfort

This has been one of the most interesting experiences in my travels so far! The architecture, planning and how all works together just blows my construction mind in pieces. Simple solutions that work extremely well in this hot and humid climate. Aside from that the place is super clean, quiet, comfortable and close to everything. The semi outdoor kitchen is very well stocked up so you can create the most difficult meals after. No need for A/C but the pool is a blessing! Many thanks tho the host and super attentive DH team!!!! This has been remarkable experience!
