Dear Steven, thank you for the kind comments and for your stay. Casa Marcelo was designed in a way that no air conditioning was necessary. The flow of air within the property keeps it cool at all times and the underfloor heating warm in the winter. Regarding the pool temperature, it is worth noting that we did warn that as it is an exterior pool, it is hard to achieve a warmer temperature than 25 degrees. Dear Akanke Hope all is well and I can see that you and the family arrived well. It is with somewhat dismay that I read your comments. I am really sorry that you felt so disturbed with the details in your comments. I can only but apologise for not making you feel 100% happy with your stay, however please allow me to justify some of the issues mentioned. Coincidence or not the dishwasher was working the morning prior to your arrival. When notified it wasn’t easy to get someone to repair it as there was a Bank holiday in Portugal and quiet a few people still on holiday. We did manage to get someone and it worked and then stopped again. As you will understand this is out of our control and we bought a new one soon after. Some clients decided that the toilet bins didn’t need cover which left some with and some without. However I can assure you that extra bags were in each bin and you could replace it every time needed. New stock was ordered in July and we are still waiting for the correct order. The bottles with soap are complementary as this is not an hotel, however you do our best to keep them full and they get filled every check-out. Unfortunately they might have missed one or two. There is 7 in the house, so I am sure that you would have had enough. We do not use shower curtains and in 5 years of trading you were the first person to mention it. We don’t use them as we don’t think that hygienic. Personal choice I think. Unfortunately you were right regarding the flies. Unfortunately it was an extreme hot summer and this was the cause of the “flies” issue in the area and not just Casa Marcelo. We did mentioned and advised to keep all doors closed at all times. We installed sensors and did our very best. Unfortunately out of our control. Finally, I would to still thank you for the first ever 3 star. Hopefully will be lost in the middle of all the 5 stars we hold and our clients will realize that it was just very poor judging if ever read.
