Clean, well furnished, lovely beach view. The listing states washer, dryer, and coin laundry. It needs to be clear that coin laundry is the ONLY option. The listing does advise that you won’t get to take advantage of the resort amenities, however it doesn’t advise that the unit doesn’t have any beach equipment. No chairs, umbrella, or other items. Be aware you will have to rent these separately. Lastly, while you have direct beach access, the resort does have a portion of it blocked off for their guests only. This was not clearly marked at the beach entrance and led to awkward moments of being reminded by the staff and other guests that we weren’t welcome to sit between their chairs. The walk to where you can setup isn’t far, but being aware of this, and being treated kindly by the resort staff and guests, would have been appreciated. Overall that set a bad tone for the week. If you are aware and prepare for these things, the beach is wonderful, the unit is amazing, and the booking process and check-in was a breeze.

The Best Beach Villa Rental!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family had the best week in Captiva! The rental has an amazing ocean view and is just steps from the most beautiful beach. It is clean and perfectly furnished for 6 guests, with everything you need to be comfortable. It is also just steps away from the Starbucks, Doc Fords, and the convenience store at the entrance to the South Seas Island Resort. They had beach essentials for our long days at the beach, including a boogie board and sand toys for the kids. We sat in the screened porch every evening watching the most stunning sunsets, after a full beach day where we would see dolphins, manatees and manta rays swimming just steps from us. We will absolutely be returning to Captiva Island and will stay again at 2424 Beach Villa.

You won't sleep much here

The property was dated. Furniture was stained, curtains were paper thin, old and dingy. Mattresses were terribly old and uncomfortable. The unit had a horrendous smell. We literally had to plug our noses for days. It made me feel sick. We were so excited to come on vacation and catch up on sleep, but instead we were very sleep deprived every night because the curtains didn't block out any light. There were huge bright lights outside the bedroom windows so it was literally like sleeping with the sun shining in your eyes. We found several dirty dishes with a lot of caked on food. Some of the "clean" towels had big ugly stains. I think it is just time to update some of the lines. Buy real curtains, make some cosmetic changes, and the place could be nice again. But I guess if people keep renting, it will not get updated and I can't blame the owners for that. I was surprised by the relatively good reviews of the place. On the positive side, the unit is nice for walking to tennis or restaurants. It was surprisingly quiet at night despite it being the height of spring break. Mostly all young families.

Great Location w/basic accommodations

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location although guests are not permitted to use resort amenities, which we knew in advance. For us that was not a problem. Unit was very clean w/exception of bedroom windows and shutters which were filthy and difficult to use. Sliding doors to balcony did not close properly and wind always came through which made it noisy and cold. Very noisy unit - voices and sounds came through the walls from other units and the street. Extra towels and starter items (TP, Dish Soap, Etc.) were provided which was nice. We did find ants in kitchen. We were super careful not to leave any food out but still had tiny ants. Very poor communication from owner & rental co. It took several weeks to get an answer to my question regarding beach supplies. We were told there was a storage unit under the bldg which held beach chairs & umbrella but it took us 2 days to find the unmarked door. Best features: Great ocean view from unit and a short walk to the beach. All kitchen appliances were very basic but functional. Master bed and linens were good (I'd give them a 'B'.) Beach towels provided. I think the unit was over-priced compared to many entire houses for rent on the island but I guess the location added to the price. We had a great vacation although the weather was just fair for 5 of our 7 days. All local vendors (boat rentals, restaurants, shops, bike rentals, etc.) were very friendly and very accommodating. There are not many shops and only a handful of restaurants on Captiva but that is part of the charm and why we like the island. Every restaurant we tried was excellent, especially Mucky Duck! Bike trails are good. Beach is nice and clean with many shells but the sand is not sugar white or soft. Captiva is a beautiful gem and we love the lack of "chain" stores and restaurants and high-rises. We will return to the island but will rent somewhere else next time. I have had much better communication from other rental companies over the years.

Fantastic Vacation!

We loved having the pull out sofa so that we could spread out and have plenty of room for our family of five. Beach was beautiful and our kids enjoyed the pool. Select Vacation Rental staff was extremely responsive and helpful when needed...like when we wanted to extend our vacation and extra night because we just didn’t want to leave. We had a great time in a great condo.

Condo was as described, excellent location. We have been coming to South Seas for 15 years and love the resort. This is a convenient location to the Starbucks that we frequent and walking distance to many restaurants! Condo was clean and well equipped.

Property could have been cleaner. Living room tv was having issues. Not enough trash bags or dish soap for the length of stay. No cleaning supplies in villa.

An Excellent Place to "Disconnect".

The management service was very attentive. We inquired about beach chairs and umbrellas in the morning and we able to enjoy in the afternoon. The beds were very comfortable. Slept better than at home. The weather was absolutely perfect!

Perfect locartion
