VRBO Owes me Back

The owner is gone.The property is in disrepair.There was no communication between VRBO and the onsite manager.The property was dirty and ill kept.I demand a refund.

It's a shame

We’ve been to Sand Dollar 5 previous times but we won’t be back. The location is excellent but this property should be removed from VRBO (and others) until serious upgrading and new property management. (We found out that the owner isn’t well and probably won’t return to the island). The “caretaker” was away when we arrived and apparently didn’t know it was rented. The gas was off! Unkempt, dirty, rodent droppings; appliances, fixtures, utensils all lacking and/or in bad repair (no hot water in bathroom sink, shower head corroded).Caretakers indifferent. Grounds and amenities neglected. Really a shame. Bill H & Karen B.

Dirty and derelict

We arrived at your place and found it dilapidated. it's too late to leave tonight so we have to stay the night but we are leaving tomorrow and want to cancel our stay booked to Feb 23 and want and expect a full refund. The outside steps are dangerous, the appliances are rusted, the carpets smell, the screens are torn, the blinds fall apart when pulled shut, the window sills are dirty, rusted refrigerator, there is no toilet paper nor even a complimentary ice cube tray nor potable water and more I have emailed you twice and not heard back. And the folks you have taking care of the property have not been paid in months. Shameful on both you and VRBO. Finally, the property is not as advertised in the photos.

Great Getaway

Chad's place is great for a getaway. Close to the beach (which is spectacular and not a soul on it) and close to bonefishing for my husband. Has everything you need and very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Get Debbie B to deliver dinner, outstanding food. It's set behind another house so not right on the beach but still a great place to hang out.

Basic, But Comfotable

Our group of four rented both sides of this duplex for a last minute getaway. The units were dated, but clean, and included all of the necessities. The shower was hot and the air conditioner blew cold! Chad is a very gracious host, but does not reply to correspondence. No directions are provided to the property, with the exception of a street name, which does not appear in Waze or imaps. Initially locating the property was more difficult than it should have been had directions been included. Most importantly, however, is that this listing included boats with the rental. After arriving, Chad told us the boats were not working. This should have been communicated before our arrival so we could have made other arrangements to secure a boat, or attempt to locate another property. This was the reason we chose the property, and it should have been made known prior to our arrival.

Online pictures are very old. Can't see the beach like the pictures show. Yard needs matanince. Boats broke, cable tv down, wi fi not good. I did see a lot of bonefish caught 9.

Gorgeous beach!

Just steps from the beach with barely anyone else there. The house is a triplex with 2 upstairs and one below. The 2 upstairs share a screened in porch. Accomodations are basic but comfortable. Chad the owner is right next door for any inquiries or questions.

Quiet, Peaceful and beautiful location

We were very pleased with the accommodations, however the pictures must have been taken 12 or so years ago because where you can view the ocean from the screened in porch, no longer exists, which was disappointing. Communication with the owner was extremely difficult. He did not reply to my email questions nor gave us adequate directions. Ultimately, we had a very nice experience and the location is beautiful.

Wonderful home away from home

We had a wonderful week long stay. Chad, Sharon and Sasha, the dog, are great hosts. The location is peaceful, beautiful and secluded. There are no restaurants in walking distance, but Pete’s Pub is a great place for a night out. We saw a lot of sea turtles, sting rays and fish while out kayaking. We LOVED our vacation here!!!

Great relaxing stay

Chads property is everything I would want for a tropical vacation. Near the ocean, nice accommodations and near a pristine beach. Chad puts a lot of thought into the accommodations and really does a great job at making you feel at home. We were there on a bonefish expedition and had lots of shots very close to the property. Already planning my next trip!

If you want a beautiful get-away, this is it!

Beautiful, natural, quiet, away from it all spot. Great host. Where else can you take a boat to a beach only accesible by water for a wonderful day on the beach that is totally private. Well worth it. We’ll be back!

Great spot for two. Clean. Exactly what we were looking for!

Had a wonderful week staying at Sand Dollar Cove. Everything was as advertised, clean and comfortable. Not fancy but exactly what we were looking for, Really enjoyed the screened in porch in the evenings when the no see ums were out. Also had a quest every morning when Shasha, Chads dog would bring her bone over to have it with our coffee. Had a great time bonefishing, Caught 9 for the week. Pretty good for DIY. We also used the boat with no problem and Chad responded to our every need . 20 minutes from Marsh Harbour.

Wonderful Stay!!

We had such a wonderful time at Chad’s cottage! The beach is absolutely stunning! Perfect for long walks in the morning, afternoon, at night, anytime you want! The water is crystal clear, warm, and calm. Chad was always available to answer any questions and was delightful to talk with. I loved sharing my mornings on the screened porch with Miss Sasha, as I missed my own pup back home. We spent our days exploring the little islands in the boat that Chad provided. It was great fun picnicking and fishing. We appreciated the serenity of Casuarina Point, but Marsh Harbour is an easy drive away for picking up groceries, restaurants, and day trips to the other islands. We tried bonefishing for the first time with JR Albury. He was very patient with us and it was a lot of fun. The wild boat ride through the Marls was fantastic! This was our first trip to The Abacos and I’m so glad we found Chad’s Sand Dollar Cove Cottages. He has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you Chad! Hope to return soon!

Peaceful - great location - great host

Chad and the dogs were perfect hosts - 4 days of doing nothing was great - great location - accommodating host and 2 perfect four legged companions - highly recommend if your looking for a quiet get away

I am a retired Airline Pilot. Which gave me the opportunities to travel the Caribbean and I selected Casuarina Point. Because it is only a 50 minute flight on a Commuter from Florida. Delta has just started flying from Atlanta to Marsh Harbour non stop and I expect to see Newark start up in the next year or so

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Casuarina Point is a small settlement 17 miles south of Marsh Harbour with one of the nicest Beaches on the Island of Abaco. There are only about 40 homes in Casuarina Point so you will see very few people on the beach with you. Shelling or walking your beach at low tide is a pleasure. The sand on the Cauarina Beach is very fine so it feel soft to the touch and because it is so white it reflects the suns rays and remains cool to walk on even at the hottest part of the day
