Cold winter days but stayed cozy at this place for a quick birdwatching trip. I loved that the host had instructions and notes available to use. My best friend and I enjoyed their choice in decor and felt the place was overall clean for what we needed. Host was very responsive. The Vrbo instructions had said linens and towels were not provided but they actually were, Host was very apologetic and said would fix that for future guests. Generally, very nice to message with. Distance to Lake Lily and the lighthouse state park was wonderful.

The cottage was truly Cape May. It was so charming, and actually steps to the beach. Communication with the owner was 10!I absolutely recommend.

Location can't be beat

You are 30 seconds away from the beach, you hear the surf all night, the neighborhood is adorable, the cottage is adorable. It's not a "luxury" resort but it has everything you need and the owners are super friendly and responsive.

It's an awesome place for proximity to the beach and just simplicity done very well. The place was clean and provided bed linens, as well as beach chairs. It's a 5 minute drive to the heart of downtown Cape May. Very bike friendly area. I rode my bike to the Cape May Ferry (7 miles) and took the ferry to Lewes Delaware went riding the bike trails in Henlopen Park and beyond, awesome!! FYI - a round trip ferry ride with a bicycle and AAA card, 14.00. I love the beach in the early autumn, less people, good weather. Brained Beach Cottage is the place to be!!

Great spot!

The cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was clean and had a great beach vibe. It’s steps away from the beach and very close to all that Cape May has to offer. Would definitely stay here again.

Great vacation getaway spot

This is a bright airy house literally steps away from the beach. The beach itself never seems to have many people on it so you have it to yourself. We had a wonderful stay.

Cozy Stay

A lovely little place nestled on the edge of the dune. We loved being steps away from the beach and close to great restaurants and fun activities. Perfect trip to reconnect with our grown children and to relax.

Cozy Cottage, Perfect Stay

This is our second time staying at the Brainard Cottage and it is hands down our favorite house to rent in cape may. It is so cozy in the cool weather and breezy when it warms up. The location near the beach, park, shops, and sunsets is ideal. The house is clean and updated, well decorated and beach themed. Cathy the host is so gracious, easy to get in touch with, and always ready to give a helpful recommendation. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Peaceful haven

Quiet neighborhood, great beach access, divine sunsets. Cute cottage with comfy beds. We were outside all day each day so had no reason to watch tv. Beach chairs and cruiser bikes available. Could use a couple soft chairs in the house but absolutely loved our stay.

Wonderful little house in a wonderful location

Arrival was simple. We found what we needed. Loved being so close to the beach. We enjoyed the gas fired pot bellied stove. The beds were comfortable. The house had a very nice bathroom, it was beautifully renovated.

The Perfect Beach Cottage

This beautifully appointed cottage is literally steps from Sunset Beach. Every convenience is provided, including bikes (with locks and helmets), a grill, and a fire pit. The beds were the most comfortable of any beach rental I've stayed in. It felt like home. Property owners are wonderful to work with. The Cape May Point area is great for long walks, too. Highly recommend!

Lovely Little Cottage

This is a perfect getaway spot. Ideal for a couple alone or perhaps with one child. Owner was friendly and easily accessible. The cottage itself was warm and inviting. Exactly what I hoped it would be. A difficult place to leave. I look forward to a future visit. Thank you, Cathy.

Perfect trip down memory lane

My parents and i used to go to cape may point every summer, but its been over 20 years since weve been back. This wonderful little cottage gave us the full point expeirence, and the entrance to the beach being so close was wonderful. I drank my tea on the beqch every morning and we watched the sunset every night, without having to make any extra plans. Perfect stay! 10/10

Amazing

This is everything you would want in a beach house. The location to the beach was steps away. The house was fully equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes and fully stocked kitchen. Outside shower was great after a long day of playing in the sand. Cathy was responsive with any questions we had. I would and will definitely stay here again.

Lovely beach cottage in a perfect location.

My boyfriend and I travel to Cape May every year at the end of the summer season. This beach front cottage was perfect for the 2 of us! This home is in a perfect location. Steps from the beach and in the center of it all... There is a nice back yard & the house is clean. I'm so glad to have found this little gem as we are looking forward to our next trip! Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.

This cottage is perfect in every way, clean, cozy, and so beachy, the vibe is perfect for a beach getaway. This was our first family vacation in a while, and it was absolutely perfect. The location is unbeatable and priceless, and the cottage met and exceeded all of our needs. The owner is reliable, so kind, and super responsive if you have any questions at all. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet peaceful getaway, the weather for our trip was cooler than we wanted, but we spent three wonderful days bundled up on the beach watching waves, dolphins, and seabirds, and then cozied up next to the indoor gas fireplace to warm up. We will definitely be back!

Charming Little Cottage

The location of this cottage could not have more perfect!! Loved hearing the water crashing into the shore in the mornings and when falling asleep. However, the were no screen doors. Screen doors would have been great - the cross breeze would have been wonderful. It was quite small. Not a lot of places to put things. The kitchen left a lot to be desired, however it's quaint!!

Delightful. Excellent location on a beautiful beach at The Point. Very clean, well appointed, nice yard (beautiful landscaping) for lounging. Close enough to "town", ten minutes max., for restaurants etc, far enough away to enjoy the serenity, beauty and beaches of the Point. Kathy was proactive and responsive on the few times we had to communicate. First time in thirty five years the family home in CM was not available. This was a great first step into a new way for us to visit the Point.

This Lovely Cottage Is A Gem!

Imagine walking out your door, over the dune, and right onto a pristine, uncrowded beach. That's what you'll experience at this lovely little cottage in Cape May Point. Everything about this house speaks to the relaxing powers of a week at the beach. Caribbean colors inside and out. Sweet beach accents. A wonderful back deck with plenty of chairs for relaxing with family. It is small; sleeps 2 couples comfortably in 2 bedrooms. There is a pullout couch in the porch/living room. But, if you use that, there's not much common space other than the kitchen table. But with so much to do in Cape May Point & the surrounding area, you won't spend a lot of time indoors. We enjoyed Beach Plum Farm. A dinner out in Cape May City. Walks to the Red Store for ice cream. The nature trails at the lighthouse state park. We loved our stay and would definitely rent again. The owner is responsive and enthusiastic about sharing her property. She makes everything run smoothly!

We have been living in Cape May since 2007 and fell in love with it as soon as we moved here. My husband grew up in Philadelphia, and I in Mt. Laurel, nj. We lived in Palmyra for a few years, moved to Fort Myers, Florida, then Venice, Fl and found our way to Cape May! We have been looking at houses in Cape May Point since we have moved here and came across this one a few years back. At that point (even though the house was up for sale by owner) the owner was not ready to sell. October of 2015 we gave him a call again and made an offer. Through easy negotiations, we agreed on a deal and settled on April 7, 2016! Since then we have been putting nothing but love into this house.

This house was built in 1928 and owned by the same family from 1940 until 2016. That family put a lot of love, time and effort in the home and kept it in tip top shape!! Since we bought this property, we have felt at home since day one and have been putting nothing but love into this cottage! We are so in love with this little cottage and we know whoever uses it will love it also! In 2018, we have done some beautiful renovations and continue to do so every year! We have put waynes coating on the walls, restored the original hardwood flooring, and upgraded the bathroom to include a washer and dryer. We have also added a shed, fire pit and brand new windows!

This home is very small and cozy and demands relaxation. It literally is steps from the beach and you can hear the ocean 24/7! The hammock begs you to relax in the sun and listen to the waves. The swing on the tree invites young ones to swing away! There is plenty of outside seating and a large tree in the back of the house that provides massive shade!
