Fantastic Stay!

This property is in a great location - walking distance - from golf and country club amenities. The apartment itself is quaint with all the essentials provided. The outside patio has a great view and very few bugs. Would definitely stay here again if coming to this area!

Our stay was great. We really enjoyed the view which was amazing. The only other feedback I would share is there is a fruit fly infestation. I believe they are in the kitchen drain. We created 2 homemade traps and caught about 100 flies.

Great Views and Well Stocked but roof leak needs attention

There was a musty smell when we checked in and later after a rainstorm a significant mold patch appeared on the upstairs doors. Ove repaired I would recommend staying there.

Lovely but no tv in upstairs bedroom

Lovely and we would stay again but the electrical outlet didn’t work. We called the property manager but the outlet wasn’t fixed. Also there was a TV in the downstairs bedroom but no TV in the upstairs bedroom.

Nice place. Two things: 1) cable is incredibly difficult to activate Harvray remote. Cryptic instructions in the guest book insufficient. 2). Fix the floor in the kitchen. Trip hazard and hurts like hell if you hit it wrong.

July 2023 Getaway

Villa is in a beautiful, gated community and offers incredible views of tidal creek/marshland. Wonderful, peaceful time watching the water, dolphins and birds. Amenities in the community are pricey, except for the pool, which was beautiful, but was under maintenance for almost the entirety of our stay. We were never able to use it, and this was a huge disappointment, especially since it was part of the reason we chose this location. About 15 minutes from Hunting Island and 10 minutes from Beaufort. Villa was very clean and well stocked. We had an issue with the upstairs shower head the first full day and it was repaired within 2 hours. Very attentive/responsive rental company to that issue, as well as an issue with the trash pickup. Small amounts of mold in upstairs bedroom and bath. A/C struggled to keep up with the outside summer temps; the unit was set at 72, but interior temps hovered 76-82. Downstairs master king bed very uncomfortable.

Bait and Switch

We booked this bluff as we have stayed in this unit before as we come down a couple of times a year to visit family and never had an issue....until this last visit. When I searched for rentals, I was searching for a unit to accommodate 6 people (4 adults, 2 children). This listing was originally as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit. I signed my agreement where the unit description is for a 3 bedroom unit for 6 occupants. Leading up to our stay, I clicked on the listing to which it then only stated it was a 2 bedroom to which I put it on me for apparently making a mistake in booking and called Tidewatch Rental Company making sure it was okay to have 2 kids staying with us and we brought air mattresses for them. It wasn't until we arrived to where we did, in fact, see the 3rd bedroom with two twin beds only to have a lock on the outside of the door keeping anyone from using it. When I called the rental company, I received a lackluster response that the owner had decided to change the listing to a 2 bedroom and no longer allow the 3rd bedroom to be used for rentals, in addition, to not changing the price and there was nothing they could do about it. I never received a call indicating this change not did I receive a new rental agreement outlining the change from a 3 to 2 bedroom. The manager said she was going to call the owner to discuss this and call me back to which that never happened. Will avoid this rental and property management co. from here on out.

Dataw: Amazing Island!

The view out of the back of the villa is amazing! It was a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed fishing from the docks, exploring the island on a golf cart, and swimming in the pool. We wished we had booked for a longer time since there are many things that we did not have time to do. We enjoyed the local restaurants as well as Hunting island State Park.

Amazing Experience

The pictures do not do justice for this property. It is very nice and has the most amazing view across the whole kitchen-living room area. The host has given thought to everything making it comfortable. The kitchen was amazingly well stocked with dishes and pans for cooking any meal as well as equipment. We all loved the beautiful pool which has the most incredible SC backdrop of beautiful trees. All of the residents of the island were very nice and friendly. In our many travels we have never visited a more beautiful place.

Beautiful condo overlooking the river

Overall this was a beautiful condo and wouldn't hesitate staying here again. The neighborhood is a gated guarded community and people are out walking and enjoying themselves. Inside the community they have a beautiful pool great for kids with a large 1 and 2' beach like area for little ones and swimming for the older ones. Also the old homestead ruins are also neat to explore inside the community. So let me give a quick overview of the properties pros and cons as we have stayed at a couple condos all in saint helen island area over the last 2 yrs. Pros: ***Beautiful safe community ***Well cleaned condo ***Very well stocked kitchen ***Gas grill on back porch ***Responsive rental company ***Beautiful river views inside condo ***Great for families ***Updated home ***Open kitchen livingroom ***Convection oven in kitchen ***Games and coloring for kids on a rainy day ***Dvd player in living room ***Ozone air purifier ***Comfortable couches ***Soft close kitchen cabinets ***Large open windows to river view *** Beach towels and chairs included ***Step stool worked nice for our 3 yr old to wash hands ***convenient parking infront of each condo ***beautifully landscaped neighborhood ***back patio has a walking trail right behind it ***Tastefully decorated Cons ***Biggest problem for us was mold on walls and pictures upstairs especially the room with 2 twin beds it was very very musty and had mold covering half a picture next to bed on right...we learned about all the mold and took our kids out of that room... ***Upstairs bathroom also had mold growing on walls and light bulbs out ***Upstairs master bedroom also had mold growing all over pocket doors inside room ***Both king beds were very uncomfortable too firm, learned as we were leaving that they look like sleep number beds...stuff that should be communicated or remotes for mattress left onto the clean beds ***nothing is marked (find it helpful when a label marker is used and light switches are marked) ***kitchen was kinda messy as it was well stocked but each guest just seems to put stuff back without regard for tidyness ***Upstairs master bedroom only has white sheer curtains so if your want to sleep in at all on vacation you better pick the downstairs bedroom ***hunting island state park took us about 25 mins to the gate from condo not 15 like listed...minor details but it adds up I appreciate an honest review and hope this helps another family, this is a great property and would come back

Great location

This was place was nice and clean. It was a quiet neighborhood and everyone was nice that we came in contact with. Pool was so nice and clean. Convenient to go explore Beaufort, Hilton head, and Hunting Island.

Lovely Condo, Beautiful Views

We had a relaxing, long weekend at this wonderful condo on Dataw. The condo had everything we needed and the views are amazing. Many of the amenities are not open to guests right now but the restaurant at the marina is open and the food was excellent. We definitely recommend this place!

Peaceful island getaway

Bluff Villas was in a beautiful gated community offering many activities including a marina, club house, running trails, kayak, tennis and 2 golf courses. The villa was very comfortable, clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the views were amazing. Management was easy to work with and the entire process went very smooth. We would stay there again.

Wonderful experience!

What you see is what you get. The place was really great, very clean and comfortable. The view from the living room/kitchen and one of the bedrooms was my favorite, just wonderful. Loved sitting on the back porch and drink my coffee. The island is gorgeous, we didn’t want to leave. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Beautifully decorated!

Very nicely decorated condo. It had a comfortable feel and was light and airy. I appreciated that it was not cluttered with a bunch of knick knacks etc.
