Hermosa propiedad de dos dormitorios en jardines apartados cerca de Lessay y playas de arena

Esta casa de dos dormitorios fue bellamente convertida en 2011 de parte de una granja de 200 años. Está amueblado con un estándar muy alto en un estilo moderno, conservando sus características originales, como paredes de piedra y vigas. Las dos habitaciones están en el primer piso, una con una cama individual y una cama doble, la otra con una cama doble. La habitación triple es muy grande y puede acomodar fácilmente una cama individual adicional si es necesario. Una cuna y puerta de escalera infantil también está disponible. La planta baja tiene un gran salón con un sofá cama y una cocina-comedor separada. Hay dos baños, uno en cada piso. El alojamiento es ligero y espacioso y contiene todo lo necesario para su comodidad y disfrute. En el exterior hay grandes jardines con un estanque de vida silvestre, una terraza con barbacoa, tenis de mesa, una zona boscosa rodeada por un pequeño arroyo, todo rodeado de prados abiertos con vacas en pastoreo. Un granero contiguo alberga una sala de juegos interior con billar (tamaño pequeño), dardos, etc. Bicicletas para adultos y niños y un portabicicletas está disponible - GRATIS para nuestros huéspedes. Hay estacionamiento seguro en los terrenos. El establecimiento se encuentra a 15 minutos a pie de la histórica ciudad de Lessay con su maravillosa abadía, lago de pesca, Go-Karting, tiendas, bares y restaurantes, y a solo 5 km de las fabulosas playas de arena de St-Germain-sur-Ay y Creances.

Traumhafte Ruhe in wunderschöner Umgebung

Wir ( eine fünfköpfige Familie mit Hund) haben dort wunderbar ruhige 2 1/2 Wochen verbracht. Der Garten lädt zum verweilen ein. Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht. Lesley und Larry sind bemüht und stehen bei Fragen zur Verfügung. Die Lage des Hauses ist gut und man kann von dort aus viele Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichen. Vielen Dank für die erholsame Zeit.

D Day Lessay 2024

Lovely compact property in extensive peaceful grounds. Friendly and helpful owners next door. Only minutes drive from Lessay where there are plenty of shops and supermarkets. Easy access to beautiful sandy beaches. We had travelled to join in with the 80th anniversary of D Day and were within an hour or so of all the major sites and landing beaches. It was nice to return late afternoon and start up the bbq and settle back with a chilled glass of wine. A great and very memorable holiday.

Accueil parfait

Nous sommes venus en couple avec notre petit garcon de 2 an et demi. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce gite pour toutes les raisons suivantes : logement spacieux, avec un beau terrain paysagé, une grande dépendance pour ranger notre coffre de toit, des velos, etc...très bien équipé, et propre. La literie était de très bonne qualité, nous avons très bien dormi. Ce gite se situe à 10 min des plages, mais pourtant très au calme, dans un cadre typiquement normand, et à l'ecart de routes trop passantes. Larry a été très accueillant et d'une grande disponibilité, tout en étant très discret pendant tout le séjour. Bref, super sejour, nous recommandons chaudement cet hébergement.

Perfect relaxing holiday in Lessay

Since almost 8 years, I didn't feel more relax after our staying in Lessay by Larry & Lesley. The flair of that house is very inspiring to relax and shut down. The history of that house which was an old and most probably the oldest farm in Lessay is exceptional. The emplacement of perfect in the Contentin and Larry is a very interesting person to meet and know. Always helping not only by words but by action as well to support our staying and feel in holiday. The garden has little flair of Giverny "Monet". I was in my childhood often in Normandie living in Paris and I discover the Contentin and the people living there. Our two daughters and my wife + two dogs felt home in a really nice garden. Bike, billiard, table tennis, culture, weather really nice with some refreshment of nice light rain. Being near the seaside was very healthy and visit Portbail etc...not too far from the Suisse Normande, the D-Day Débarquement, Cherbourg, Sainte-Mère l'église etc... We will definitely come next summer if the time gives us the opportunity to be the guest by Lesley & Larry. Thank you again Lesley & Larry Sincères salutations & Liebe Grüße Famille Lee

Lovely cottage in a good location

A very well equipped and clean cottage located in the countryside about 2km from the small town of Lessay. The cottage has a huge garden with wildlife and courtyard ponds. We had good weather but should the weather not be so favourable there is barn with a pool table, dart board, and table tennis. We took our own bikes but the owners also provide some bikes (and a bike trailer for small children) as the nearest Voie Verte cycle route is just down the road (this runs from Mont St Michel to Cherbourg). Loads of wildlife (frogs, hares, birds and stoats) to spot too. The owners (Larry & Lesley) live on site in the neighbouring farm house and were really friendly and helpful without being intrusive. They provided a lot of information on places to visit and things to do. The property is ideally located for those wishing to explore the beaches (Port Baie, Gouville-sur-Mer), WW2 sites (Utah & Omaha beaches), and countryside of the Cotentin peninsula (by bike and on foot) as well as for trips further a field to Jersey (there is a passenger ferry that leaves from Carteret about 30 minutes drive away), Mont St Michel, Granville and Cherbourg. The small town of Lessay has three bakeries and a good butchers shop, all of which are highly recommended. There are Intermarché & Lidl supermarkets located just outside the town. Highly recommended, both in terms of the property and location, and we would definitely consider a return visit.

A wonderful stay

Top notch. Not one thing to have a gripe with. Hosts were amazing, the property is very private, with a wonderful garden that works with nature rather than against. I have seen so many firsts here, its a stay we wont forget. The property is in an excellent location, with supermarkets close by, and within a short drive to many sights. Thank you for having us!! I hate to say this (as it will probably reduce the future availability) but couldn't recommend highly enough Thank you for having us.

Ein wunderschönes Anwesen!!! Das Haus und der Garten (schöne Gartenmöbel) laden zum verweilen ein. Erholung pur. Wenn das Wetter passt, kann man zum sehr leeren Strand fahren. Hunde können dort fast überall und immer mitgenommen werden. Die Gastgeber: Super nett!!! Sie wohnen vor Ort, aber die Bereiche sind völlig getrennt. Danke Larry für die Tomaten, Trauben, Pflaumen… ein Wohlfühlort

Excellent hosts and an excellent house

We were there together with our 2 teenagers (and a dog) and had 2 lovely weeks. The house was excellent furnished in a lovely environment. The garden was very romantic, especially with the flowers and also the small pond. The environment was quite, but it was not too far away to go to Lessay. Leslie and Larry are excellent hosts, very helpful and supportive (e.g. we forgot our air pump, no problem to borrow one :-).) Finalising as said in the beginning we had fantastic 2 weeks, the hosts and the house are - without any doubt - highly recommendable!!!!

Ganz tolles Haus, eine kleine Oase. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten 2 Wochen super Wetter, daher haben wir besonders den superschönen Garten genossen, und konnten so manches Tischtennis-Turnier spielen. Wenn wir von unseren Ausflügen zurück kamen, war es wie nach Hause kommen. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter (noch einmal vielen Dank für die Montage des Fahrradanhängers, Larry!). Gerne wieder!

Happy Place

This house with its wonderful garden and surounding is a great place to be. Kind of a happy place hard to find somewhere. Our host welcomed us warmely and showed us around. The house is well equipted and has a nice interior design. Maybe the stairs are a bit steep. The beaches are close by und there are lots of day trips possibilities. But also staying in the house and in the garden playing table tennis or BBQ is absolutely no waste of time. We would be lucky to come here again.

Peaceful cottage, beautiful region, wonderful hosts

My husband, toddler son and I spent a wonderful 3 weeks in the cottage. Lesley and Larry were the perfect hosts - always communicative and easy to reach. They were in the main house next to the gite during our whole stay and provided useful advice when needed on multiple occasions and were always lovely to chat to, but we also had complete privacy in the house, and full use of the beautiful garden. The house itself is a clean, modern and pleasant living space, with comfortable beds and everything you might need for the stay (Lesley and Larry provided a stair gate and travel cot for our son). We did not know the Cotentin region before our trip, but will certainly be coming back, if only for the many magnificent beaches in the area, with at least 3 within a 10-15 minute drive of the house. We were lucky enough to have a heatwave during our stay and spent a lot of time at the beach, and swimming in the sea. The tides are huge, but even at low tide the beaches are good places to be, with smooth sand and rockpools to explore, perfect for our toddler. The Cotentin feels like a well-kept secret, and we thought it was quiet with not many tourists (which we thought normal for during a pandemic) but our hosts told us it had never been busier. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, close to many areas of natural beauty and away from the crowds, then I highly recommend staying at this gite.

Traumhafter Urlaub

Schöne und erholsame Tage in Lessay

Wir haben mit unseren Söhnen und unserer Hündin einen sehr erholsamen 2wöchigen Urlaub im Ferienhaus Les Tonneaux verlebt. Larry war ein sehr entgegenkommender und liebenswürdiger Gastgeber. Danke nochmal für die köstlichen Tomaten. Für Gäste, die Ruhe suchen, ein absoluter Traum. Außerdem bietet die zentrale Lage von Lessay einen guten Ausgangspunkt für viele Touren. Wir werden sicher gerne wiederkommen Familie Geulen aus Aachen

Wunderbar!

Wir (zwei Erwachsene, drei Kinder 10, 12 und 14 Jahre alt) hatten eine wunderbare und erholsame Woche in Lessay! Die Wohnung ist einfach schön, man fühlt sich gleich zu Hause. Es ist alles da, was man braucht, vor allem alles sehr sauber, und Larry war ein sehr angenehmer Vermieter. Die Flyer in der Wohnung waren sehr hilfreich für unsere Planung und wir haben viel unternommen, sei es ein Ausflug zur Käserei in Lessay, D-Day-Strände, Mont Saint Michel , Lait Douceur de Normandie (die gesalzenen Karamellbonbons und das Caramou, ein Karamellaufstrich, haben Suchtpotential!), Barfleur, nicht zu vergessen die beeindruckende Kathedrale von Lessay, tolle Strände,... Abends wurde Tischtennis gespielt oder ein Besuch bei den Kühen direkt nebenan gemacht, ansonsten ist es sehr ruhig, der Garten ist wunderbar, genau richtig, um abends draußen noch ein Glas Wein zu genießen. Wir können die Wohnung uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und würden auch selbst nochmal wiederkommen. Danke, Larry, für die wunderbare Woche! M. P. aus Münster

Ruhig gelegenes gut ausgestattes Feriendomizil

Abseits der Straße mit großem Garten und Grillterrasse fanden wir das gemütlich und gut ausgestatte Steinhaus. Unsere Kinder haben sofort das Schlafzimmer mit den beiden Betten in Beschlag genommen. Die große Küche ist sehr gut bestückt, genug Geschirr, Spülmaschine, Mikrowelle, Herd mit Ofen, Kaffeemaschine ect. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Leider keine Steckdosen in dem schönen Bad. Wir fanden Lessay war ein guter Ausgangsort für viele Ausflüge, sowohl nach Le Mont Saint Michel, oder in den Norden und an die vielen wunderschönen leeren Strände in der Nähe.

Week end au calme sur la côte normande

Harry est un hôte disponible et discret qui habite juste à côté, il ns a accueilli avec simplicité et convivialité . La maison est jolie, bien équipée et fonctionnelle (2 salles de bains dont une au RDC) Ns avons apprécié l'environnement calme et en même temps proche du village (1/4 d'heure de promenade à pied) Le jardin est spacieux et bien entretenu et ns avons aimé profiter des transats confortables après avoir expérimenté le barbecue. Une bonne adresse que ns ne manquerons pas de transmettre à l'occasion !

Best French rental in over 25 years!

The restoration/conversion of the old farm buildings has been carried out with great care and the result is a beautifully comfortable and peaceful holiday home. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped - my wife says it's the first French rental we've stayed in where the knives were sharp. The bedrooms are similarly spacious and light and the excellent bathroom is augmented by a downstairs shower-room. My wife and I, our eldest son and his partner, their 18-month daughter and - with the owners' permission - Irish lurcher Riley all had plenty of space and could relax in the comfortably furnished lounge.. The established garden is a delight. Adventurous dogs are probably best kept on the lead in the garden - the main temptation for Riley was to visit Larry in his kitchen. There are walks very close and the former railway line is not far way and runs through Lessay. All towels and bedding were provided, as was cleaning, which made our short break very easy. Hot water was constantly available and all electricity usage covered in the rental, so no meter reading rituals at the end of the holiday. Larry was in residence and was an unobtrusive but always helpful host. The countryside setting is peaceful but Lessay is minutes away by car and is well served by two supermarkets. A delightful vet - who speaks English if needed - has a small surgery opposite Intermarche. Beaches are easily reachable by car - Riley and our granddaughter enjoyed St Germain, Agon-Coutanville and Pirou. As our holiday was short we needed somewhere not too far from Cherbourg and this property was ideal - I hour away and we broke each journey at Valognes. Coutances with its superb cathedral and gardens, one of our favourite places, is easily accessible. Larry and Lesley's property was a real find - it gave us a perfect family spring break and I cannot recommend it highly enough - I would happily have stayed there all summer. Hope it's not fully booked when we try to return!

Très belle location bien rénovée et confortable

Dans le bocage normand agréable et reposant. Il ne manque qu une seule chose : au moins 1 chaîne française quand il pleut ! A conseiller !

Entspannte Ferien nahe Lessay

Wir (3 Erwachsene + Hund) haben unseren Urlaub bei Lesley und Larry sehr genossen! Das sehr gepflegte Ferienhaus ist liebevoll und praktisch eingerichtet, wir haben nichts vermisst. Auch unser Schafpudel Nelson hat sich sehr wohlgefühlt und in dem großzügigen Garten immer ein schattiges Plätzchen gefunden. Larry war ein sehr aufmerksamer Gastgeber, der sich immer wieder erkundigte, ob alles in Ordnung sei und uns mit den Nachrichten des Tages versorgte. Es ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt zu den oft menschenleeren Stränden und vielen schönen Orten an den Cotentin-Küsten. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder :)
