My husband and I spent the holiday week at this beautiful home in Oxnard, we were not disappointed. Even with a little rain the view of the ocean was so relaxing. Loved this home and all that it has to offer. Didn't want to go home.

Big, Beautiful house on the sand!

My granddaughters and I had the best time ever. Dave's house was beautiful, and the location was the best. It was right on the sand with gorgeous sunsets every night. The girls went to surf camp that was right up the street. A lot of stairs but everyone had their own privacy. I hope to stay there again next year.

Amazing Property

I would highly recommend this property. The house is absolutely beautiful. This is one case where the pictures don’t do it justice. The owner is great to work with and made sure every need was met. Silverstrand Beach is a hidden gem. It is a beautiful and well maintained beach that doesn’t get a lot of traffic. The sunsets behind the Channel Islands were amazing.

Wedding Weekend

We travelled to Oxnard to attend a wedding and decided on a beach vacation too. The weather was cool and cloudy, but beach walks, wildlife viewing and hanging around the beautiful house were all great. We had an easy side trip up to Santa Barbara; a lovely time all around!

Fantastic

The view from the house was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunset every evening from the living room that had floor to ceiling windows and glass doors out to the patio. We will rent it again if we ever decide to visit the same beach in the future.

Great House. Fabulous location

I stayed at David's wonderful house with my husband, daughter, son-in-law and 7 year old twins. The location is right on the beach and we watched our girls playing in the sand while we had our coffee inside. The house has all the conveniences one could hope for and communication with David was easy. The views from the house are incredible as the main rooms have floor to ceiling windows that provide unobstructed views of a large, soft sand beach. Can't wait to go back!

Just a great place to stay RIGHT ON THE BEACH

The owner, Dave, is very communicative and a joy to work with. And the property is simply stunning. Two walls of GLASS overlooking the sand and ocean. We took walks in the evenings. The kids boogy boarded in the surf. It was a 10 minute drive to WHOLE FOODS OR COSTCO and the kitchen has all the great amenities to cook. Just a great beach getaway. THANKS!

Dream modern home on the beach

Wow! What a gorgeous place to stay. This home is located right on the sand and is full of every modern convenience. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean and stylish. The living spaces are comfortable and there are various places to sit and relax throughout the property. This rental is the top 2 floors and doesn't include the bottom floor. At first I thought this might hinder our enjoyment of the beach, but it didn't at all! It's an easy little walk around the house to the sand. There's a nice shower to wash off the sand on your way back to the street-side courtyard and the door to the house. Dave was super easy to work with and very responsive to our requests. My family and I loved our stay! Thanks Dave!

Great space

Great home. There were a few surprises. When we first booked home the listing stated “entire home 3,500 square feet”. Upon check in owner was very nice however at the end mentioned he had a friend that might stop by and stay at the lower level studio. This was very misleading as we were expecting the entire home. Also, it turned out the tenant was there every day! There were no issues with the tenant however we felt uncomfortable with the set up as we always book entire homes. We don’t even stay at condos as we prefer a complete private getaway. Since our stay they adjusted the listing to just state home instead of entire home. Also, they updated that I friend stays in studio. Wish we were told sooner as this is very important to us when we choose a vacation. The master bedroom was a great size however if closet space is important to you then be prepared to have no closet as it was locked. We have never had a closet not be available to us in a master bedroom. Also, there is no garage access. Overall beautiful views and fit the 5 of us.

Dear guest, Nothing has been changed in the listing regarding the self contained studio, adjacent to the house. That was always included in the listing since day 1. There was absolutely nothing misleading about it, we mentioned it to you again because sometimes guest don’t read the entire listing. You did have the entire home to yourself. The studio has a private entrance. Regarding the closet, there are several closets in the house, including a wardrobe in the master room. Have you read the listing entirely the garage is not included in the listing.

A Gem in the Silver Strand

This stay as well as the property have exceeded our expectations. As we found out this beautiful house was built by the owner for himself, and you can definitely see the personal touch in both the architectural and the interior design. Furniture, rugs, and appliances are hand selected and of superior quality. Everything is designed for the coziness and convenience of use. The kitchen is set up well, you shouldn't need to bring anything, unless you are an avid chef and require your own set of tools/pans. Linens and towels are clean and crisp, and the onsite laundry room will help you keep it this way. Bathroom amenities and cleaning supplies are well-chosen and stocked. Every corner of the property is set up for the most use and comfort. It definitely feels like a lived-in house, not a rental or a hotel. The host has thought of even the coconut oil at the entrance to remove the occasional tar you get on your feet at the beach. The beach is a separate beauty. A long strand, well taken care of by the city and the residents is inviting and clean. Great for walking, playing, chilling, never overcrowded, always awesome. There are a couple of local breakfast places, a bar, and a bodega walking distance from the property. Major stores, like Ralphs, Trader Joe's, Costco, Wholefoods, Walmart, and others are about a 15-minute drive away. Plenty of little streets and the length of the beach for extended walks. DEFINITELY recommend this property and look forward to renting it again.

People who live in glass houses should clean their windows...

I feel like I need to be honest so the next renter does not have the same experience as my family did. This owner has no experience in the hospitality field. He personally cleaned the home himself & it was NOT clean! Now I am a very clean person so the only way to describe this situation is for you to think “The Odd Couple” I am the Felix to his Oscar. I thought his “rules” about not dragging luggage on his new floors etc meant that the house was going to be super clean– I was wrong. Uncleaned toilets (mold/urine under the seat), dirty refrigerator with food, questionably washed dishes put away in the cabinets, dirty unwashed laundry (men's underwear) on top of the washer/dryer & a thick layer of dust on the furniture in living room (I have pictures of everything). We booked this 2 days before our arrival date as a last min special which made him feel like he owed us nothing. I wasn’t entirely sure if the sheets on the beds were clean at this point so I pulled them all off to be washed – I wished I hadn’t. The mattresses looked like they might have been found on the side of the road about 20+ years old, soiled, stained – disgusting. I began calling professional cleaning companies and I miraculously found one that came THAT NIGHT for 5 hours with 3 cleaners. THANK GOD for the downstairs tenant, Thomas, who was AMAZING. I waited to get our 5K deposit back, and to see if he would do right by us – at the minimum repay us for the cleaning – he did not. I was very disappointed. However, I do want to say that after the house was clean, and we no longer had to deal with the owner, my family had a great time. It really IS a beautiful house, and we LOVED the beach. If you are prepared to deal with someone who doesn’t understand the value of hospitality, kindness, and does not possess the ability to show compassion - then INSIST that the house be professionally cleaned for you, and ask if he has replaced the mattresses! I truly hope that this review will encourage the owner to hire someone to professionally manage this property for him. If he wants to continue in this business he must change his ways – PERIOD. He robbed me of 24+ hours of my vacation, and caused great stress to my family and was simply unable to provide any kind of meaningful apology, or compensation. If someone complained like I did I’d have at the very least comp’d them the fee for their horrible first night, and paid for the house cleaning. I am so disappointed that he did not.

kelly G and her husband waited till the day before to book this property.We started our dialog a week before the check in date and i told them i needed advanced notice......still they delayed with the idea that since there credit card " didnt work" that they might be able to pay with a check the day of ? What a request, i declined......I was out of town since it was so last min so i never got to meet them. I always have my house professionally cleaned but because of the day before bookingi wasnt able to. The dishes were clean, the towels and sheets were clean , i know because i washed them myself....I also gave them the option of a full refund when they first arrived and were dissapointed but they wanted to move forward with hiring there own maid who did a poor job and created more work for my cleaners....MORAL OF THE STORY....BOOK A FEW DAYS IN ADVANCE AND DONT TRY TO GO AROUND RVBO

What a beautiful beach house!

From the check in process to following up with us after we left, the entire stay was awesome. The house was clean, well equipped and David was very responsive and helpful. For anyone looking for a relaxing place on the beach, book here without reservation. Great property!
