The apartment is in an excellent location, quite close to the castle and a lovely walk to the downtown of Lisbon. We found the space clean and comfortable, with several amenities that made living there easy, including a stocked kitchen. Communication was mostly good. We locked ourselves out and the management company responded relatively quickly and charged us a fee to be let back in. Please note that Ubers will not bring you to the guest house. They are not permitted to enter the castle area. I would have preferred that the company made this clear in the “getting to there” section in their description instead of simply including a Google Maps link. As other renters have noted challenging walks with luggage, it is odd that the management company does not provide clearer guidance either formally online or via informal communication. We had to haul bags uphill for about 1/2 a kilometer. Apparently normal taxis are able to enter for 15 min - consider when coming from the airport. We did note that two of the three fans were not functioning and this was during a heat wave. The management company struggled to replace them during our stay, noting a supply shortage. It was disappointing that we had to follow up with the management company on this issue several times, without proactive follow-up on the part of management. Ultimately no fans were replaced and our last request for follow up was left unanswered. We would still recommend the space, perhaps not during a heat wave.
