Anteriormente una capilla congregacional que ofrece unas vacaciones únicas en Pembrokeshire

Antiguamente una capilla congregacional construida en 1865, ha sido restaurada para mantener sus características originales mezcladas con un diseño interior contemporáneo y una mezcla de muebles tradicionales y contemporáneos. La propiedad se encuentra en el pueblo de Carew Newton y está a poca distancia a pie del castillo de Carew, Tidal Mill y, por supuesto, Carew Inn.

El interior incorpora pisos de pizarra natural y piso de madera en la planta baja, con habitaciones alfombradas. Todas las habitaciones disponen de baño, uno con una gran bañera independiente moderna. El interior de la Capilla presenta techos de 19 pies de altura junto con un área de balcón interno. Una estufa de leña de hierro fundido es la característica central de la sala de estar y se suma a la atmósfera general del interior.

Hay una gran área de cocina que originalmente era la sacristía y cuenta con grandes puertas acristaladas que se abren a una gran área de terraza, un pequeño jardín con hermosas vistas sobre el campo circundante.

Excellent property in an idyllic location

All three generations of our party loved this conversion of a former chapel..The accommodation was light, spacious and tastefully furnished. It was also clean, well equipped and maintained and all bedrooms having their own en-suite was a definite bonus. The sunny outdoor seating was perfect for enjoying the quiet location but only a short walk from the beautiful Carew Castle, village shop and pub. A short drive took us to the lovely local beaches and Tenby.

Peaceful & interesting property.

A beautiful Chapel conversion in such a lovely & peaceful location. We were blessed with amazing weather, so it actually felt like we were abroad. The only negatives were the poor water pressure, which made showering & washing a chore and the downstairs bedroom smells musty, so didn’t use the wardrobe or unpack suitcase in that room. The acoustics in the lounge made the TV a little difficult to hear too.

Dear Stephen, Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated. We have had a few problems with the water pressure which we resolved after your stay. The problem existing with a pressure valve within the system which we hadn't been able to rectify previously. We will look into the musty smell in the downstairs bedroom cupboard as we were unaware of this. Finally, the acoustics in The Chapel are what made it the place to sing, all those years ago. We introduced surround sound to assist with the television reception and we had considered relocating the television to the study in future. Great & special place to stay

We have had a great stay in the Chapel with 3 persons. Obviously we had plenty of space, given it is rated for 6. But even with 6 there is still so much living area! And of course, given it is a Chapel, it has a special atmosphere. The area is very quiet, with only 3-4 cars coming by in a day. The house is very well equipped. Nice bedrooms. Decent bathrooms/showers. Kitchen is very large. Please mind there are 2 small refrigerators which provide plenty of space, but you will have to bend over to reach them. Nice patio, although the planks bend a bit when walking on them, but you get used to it. All in all, we have had a very good stay and would recommend this to anyone visiting Pembrokeshire. Some comments/remarks/tips: + Do not leave the bedroom windows open during day, as birds may find their way in and do "droppings". + The bed in the master bedroom upstairs is "romantically" small but appears to be quiet unstable and "creaky". I would put in a much better bed. The other beds are much better. + The only thing we did miss a bit was a machine dryer, which was a bit miscommunicated in the VBRO text as dryer, which according to the owner meant "drying rack".

Ein traumhafter Urlaub in einem besonderen Gebäude

Trotz sehr durchwachsenem Wetter hatten wir 2 perfekte Urlaubswochen. Das Haus ist ideal für Ausflüge / Wanderungen in South/Westwales und für 4-6 Personen sehr geräumig. Peter hat aus dem alten Gemäuer sehr gelungen ein cooles und besonderes Ferienzuhause geschaffen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter ist sehr herzlich und unkompliziert. Wir wären gerne noch ganz lang geblieben.

A very pleasant stay was had by all!

The property was clean and well maintained and as it was south facing we had sun on the patio all day. The location of the property was very peaceful and also great as it was only a short walk to a lovely castle and mill and a super pub which served tasty food. Nearby was the Pembrokeshire coast and it's excellent beaches.

Love this place!!

The Chapel is such a great place to stay, loads of space for us and our teenage daughters!! It has everything you would expect of a holiday property but the building itself is amazing. I love the location too, so calm and peaceful but only a short car journey to the beach (Freshwater East is our favourite), Pembroke Dock, Tenby and more. This was our second year here and I would go back again.

Rest and relaxation in an amazing and unusual property

Who could ask for more? Fully equipped converted Chapel in a very peaceful location. Just what I needed for some rest and relaxation, but also very close to some very beautiful beaches if you want to do a bit of driving. Highly recommended.

Review

Unclear communication where to leave keys on departure. Pain having to drive to cross hands to collect keys. Would have liked a 6 person comfy seating area (Only space for 4-5 on sofas), as Property held 6 sleeping. Otherwise terrific.

Brilliant week in superbly converted Chapel

First time at the chapel, but not new to staying in the area. Love thIs quirky chapel: clean, very spacious and warm. The Pembrokeshire weather was variable, but it was a pleasure to stay inside during Storm Frances. The local beaches were as beautiful as ever.: We’re already planning our next trip! Thank you

Brilliant base for exploring Pembrokeshire

The Chapel was perfect. We had a lovely week getting away and enjoying Pembrokeshire. We were lucky with the weather and bbq'd outside for most the week on the bbq there. There was ample space inside the Chapel as well. And with lots of bathrooms which was really useful for all wanting a shower after getting back from walks and swims. The location is great with a pub within walking distance in Carew and the castle which is worth a like walk around. From the Chapel we explored lots of south Pembrokeshire going for walks everyday along the coastal path and fun swimming in the sea. We have saved the Chapel as a place to recommend to friends and to come back to as it was perfect for us.

Wow! What an amazing conversion this chapel has undergone

Wonderfully in keeping with the original building’s use, the three en-suite bedrooms are very well done and you don’t loose the feel of the original chapel area in the living/dining space. The kitchen was very well equipped with two under counter fridges, both with freezer compartments, and a huge array of cooking equipment. Perfect for self catering holidays. The road outside had so few cars passing it felt like a private driveway! Very safe to stroll down the short distance to the castle and local pub. Regarding location we found it very well situated being only 10-15 minutes drive to wonderful beeches, castles, theme parks and a wide range of other forms of family entertainment. Communication with the owner was clear and prompt, even after my numerous questions before arriving. We were a party of two adults and three teens and would highly recommend this accommodation.

Glorious

The Chapel conversion makes good use of the space and having multiple ensuite facilities add a touch of luxury. Super location for Freshwater East beach and close to local supermarkets etc if need. Really peaceful and a good find. Suited our family of 4 perfectly. Cutlery and crockery could be cleaner.

Great place to explore Pembrokeshire

The Chapel was big enough for the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 children 9,6,2). Location Is great :near Tenby, near Carew Castle, Not far from the Green Bridge of Wales. We really appreciated the quietness of the Chapel. We would love to come back!

Wonderful Rural retreat

Wow! If you like staying somewhere out of the ordinary then this property is for you! We ( A family of 6 adults) had a fabulous holiday visiting the many beaches and attractions nearby then were able to relax in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Having a pub within walking distance that serves good food was a bonus but this is the first house I have stayed in that had large enough cooking pots to cater for 6 hungry people. The weather was gorgeous and you can just glimpse a tower of Carew Castle from the Chapel garden. Bear in mind for your stay that there is only a small fridge with an ice box and as it was so hot this year it would have been perfect if there had been an additional small drinks fridge available for the many cans and bottles 6 adults get through in a week! This house is very stylish, comfortable and well appointed and we will definitely stay here next time we holiday in Pembrokeshire. We all loved the Chapel, Serendipity finding it and that it was available for us to book this summer.

Fantastic property in a superb location

We (family of four children's ages 9 and 7) had a great week long stay at The Chapel. I would recommend people visiting South Wales to stay here as it is very quiet, walk-able to the pub and to Carew Castle. It is only a short drive to Tenby and Saundersfoot, Amroth and Pendine. Folly Farm was great, we stayed all day, the Blue Lagoon was okay, the children loved it. The Chapel is well equipped, and is set in beautiful surroundings. We will be back! It was that good!

We first visited 'The Chapel' in the summer of 2008 & couldn't wait to return this year in August......it was as great as we remembered! Peter was as helpful with information & advice as he was 2 years ago & the property was clean & tidy with everything we needed for our weeks holiday. Our group consisted of 3 Adults, 2 15 year old boys & a 5 year old boy, we found activities & attractions for everyone, Quad biking @ Ritec Valley, Mackrel fishing from Tenby, Dinosaur world, St Davids, Beaches including Manobier, Freshwater East & Pendine sands, crabbing in Saundersfoot, walks to Carew Castle & Mill, Bicycle rides to The Milton Arms & Cresswell Quay & of course......Our daily visits to The Carew Inn for a cold glass of refreshment(!) on our way 'home' to The Chapel! The Carew Inn also does fabulous food in the bar & restaurant & twice a week does lovely Barbecues! We will definately be back to do it all again & again & again!

Great Location

The location of The Chapel is excellent, in a tiny hamlet with lovely views and at the end of the lane is Carew Newton Castle. It is a great location for all tastes and ages. Stunning beaches. Good walks. Rural, but not too far from market towns when you need them. The property description is accurate. It is spacious, well-equipped. Just one point. We were a party of six and stayed for two weeks, so we did find the larder fridge rather tiny. The owners were helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends and relatives.

The chapel Carrow Newton

Stayed here 18-25 sept with our two grown up daughters & boyfriends. Great modern space to stay in and beautiful tranquil location,good size kitchen, would have benefitted from a freezer,great dining area,lounge good size and lovely log burner, very clean. Negatives however were lack of crockery, sofa's in lounge not adequate to seat 6 adults at once, but as we spent our evenings playing card/games as a family in the evening it did not impact too much, however the downstairs bedroom had a pervasive smell of damp as there was a leak in the ensuite ceiling from an upstairs bathroom, overall the inside was tired and in need of a touch up which i understand the owner is due to do at the end of the season. Despite these niggles we had a lovely week and would reccomend this area to anyone with families/ couples etc.We chose this area as our children & boyfriends had plenty to do on the doorstep however be aware if you go this time of year attractions may only be open wkends or part time.

I have worked within the commercial interiors industry for the past 25 years and I've always been interested in the restoration of buildings. Restoring The Chapel was a wonderful experience as the building was falling into disrepair.

I was born in Pembrokeshire and even though I now live in the South East my heart belongs to West Wales. My old school friend Anthony introduced me to the building one day on the way back from being at Barrafundle beach. I immediately fell in love with the place and the hamlet of Carew Newton being located so close to Carew Castle and the Cleddau Estuary.
