The cottage was in a great location for exploring the area. The front opens onto a green space with a short walk to shops, a grocery store, restaurants, the steam train station, and a castle. We also made day trips to Whitby and Helmsley. Be aware that the GPS will take you to the front of the cottage. The instructions sent by the manager were correct, but it was a little confusing. There is very nice secure parking. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked with pot, pans, etc. There was plenty of room to spread out with 2 den areas, the master downstairs, and 2 bedrooms up. The only issues I had were that the knives needed sharpening, I could not find a hairdryer anywhere, and the recliners were hard to close. However, if I were ever staying in the area again, I would definitely book again.

The house is in a fantastic location with ample off-road parking at the rear.

The house is in a fantastic location with ample off-road parking at the rear. The home is very well-equipped, and is ideal for a longer stay (we stayed a week). There is a great bakery virtually next door called 'Amazing Graze', a brilliant butcher about 100 yds away, and the Black Swan pub next door to the butchers is excellent for drinks, ambiance and food. The picture on the TV in the first lounge tends to pixelate, so we watched in the other, leather sofa, lounge on the SMART TV instead. The fact the cupboard door doesn't fit on the fridge door is a bit annoying and the house instructions aren't clear and are out-of-date. Put the general waste bin (green wheelie) out on a Wednesday for early collection on Thursday. For recycling, use the collection skips in the car park by Lidl.Overall, we loved the house and had a great stay!

Lovely cottage for family holiday Access to parking which was very useful for two cars. The cottage had two excellent large sitting rooms, dinning room and kitchen, we had the downstairs bedroom suitable for elderly or disabled. Lovely well equipped cottage very close to the centre of Pickering.

Lovely well equipped cottage very close to the centre of Pickering. A 5 minute walk to Lidl to get provisions for our continental breakfast. Cottage has a shower room and bathroom and two reception rooms, although we stuck to just one of the main rooms. Beds were comfy. The owner has put safety rules in place for the pandemic so we felt safe. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
