A lovely well situated cottage on the outskirts of Keswick.

A lovely well situated cottage on the outskirts of Keswick. It had everything we needed for our stay. One or two of the nooks and crannies had been missed by the cleaning team but on the whole it was clean and tidy. The beds were a little bit uncomfortable but not enough to put us off returning to polperro.

We really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and well equipped. The conservatory was my favourite place to sit and look out at the garden and the the distant hills. The living room is really spacious and the bedrooms were a reasonable size. Just a little warning though as my elderly mum finds steps challenging and just managed the steps at the front and rear of the cottage and there is a fairly high step from the kitchen to the back lobby so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with severe mobility issues. Lovely cottage.

Lovely cottage. Only a short walk (10min) into Keswick, which was great. Slightly longer walk to Derwent water - our 5 year old managed, just. Has parking, which was very useful, a reason we booked. I think you could get 2 cars in front of each other if you needed. (Booklet in house had instructions on how to use garage too - but we didn't, not needed & wasn't sure how to get the door open!). As another review states, narrow gateposts - but my husband managed fine with our estate car. Nicely kept garden, we took a bbq and sat out a couple of days. Gravel outside conservatory so flip flops might be useful. The double beds are definitely double (as stated in the description...just I'm used to king size - and never sleep right with double bed sheets)! Not the properties fault. Again, this is normal - only comes with standard sized towels - if you are used to a bath sheet take your own. Large lounge, nice conservatory. Dining room slightly odd as the conservatory has been put on the outside - leaving this room with no outside windows (double doors to conservatory though). There is a spar shop/garage practically over the road (2min walk). Loads to do in this area. We enjoyed (with family of 4 with kids aged 5&8): - Pencil museum (5 min walk!) -Hiring a motor boat on Derwent water -Trip to Lake District Wildlife park -Gruffalo trail in Whinlatter forest (gets busy) - Other walks from Whinlatter - Walk up Cat Bells via boat from Derwent water to Hawse end (&back) -Lunch at Lingholm / walk round small garden with info about Beatrix Potter -Thekeld Quarry (random/old school but fun, go on a day with a steam train). Our kids specially enjoyed panning for minerals (think they throw small gemstones in a river for kids to 'find'). - Crazy golf in Hope park - Puzzling place illusions museum (busy even with timed entry on rainy days) - Lakes Distillery outside cafe (our kids were slightly too young for the tour - think you need to be 6) Overall well equipped cottage in a good location, we had a great break. Good bungalow well equipped, decor lovely but settees in the lounge were uncomfortable as cushions were sagging. Lovely conservatory where we spent most evenings. Good size garden and was great to have garden furniture. Little extras like the puzzles and games and a few books were a nice touch. The bungalow was situated just a short walk from the town centre and if you wanted to travel around in the car it was just a few minutes from the main road. There were 4 of us staying so we had plenty of room. Just a word of warning about one of the double bedrooms although plenty of storage the room to move around the bed was very limited. Would go back again.

A lovely, well equipped and furnished bungalow in a great location with views both back and front. Great showers and fluffy towels. Enough space, both inside and out, for 4 adults and 2 young children. Would score as 10/10 , but for the near miss our youngest grandson had when one of the ornamental mirrors in the hall fell down due to it not having been secured properly to the wall - he had a VERY near miss as the broken glass was all around him and the driveway plus garage which did accommodate 2 cars, a mobility scooter and a pushchair, but as it is a tandem/narrow driveway, the cars had to be moved each time the pushchair and/or mobility scooter were taken out of the garage. A lovely lady came to change the bedding and removed the second hall mirror when we found that it was not properly secured to the wall and offered to contact the owner/office on our behalf. On our arrival there was no highchair (as booked and paid for) a call to the office resulted in one being delivered within a few minutes.

We visited here in September 2019 and found it to be a very comfortable bungalow.Only minutes away from a well stocked SPAR supermarket/garage and about 15 mins stroll to market square. The lakeside takes about 25 mins stroll to get there.The only criticisms would be there are no instructions on how to adjust boiler heating times so we had to do this manually. The driveway is very narrow and I think you would struggle if you had a large car. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Furniture/ Sete had to be moved so that we could all see the TV. The front bedroom was very dusty. But overall a very comfortable bungalow , nice and warn.Enjoyed the conservatory. Not for disabled as difficulty getting up the 2 steps to the front & back door. The garage could not be used as it was cluttered so our 2 cars blocked the pathway for easy access. Non of this really distracted from our enjoyment. ,
