Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Easy access to public transport and in walking distance of the ferry. The property was clean and well equipped and maintained. Showers were fabulous under the stars. Gardens like a mini rain forest. Loved our stay. Thanks Monica

Peaceful Retreat

My experience renting at Shambhala was effortless and my time there was extremely peaceful from the time of booking to leaving.

Well provisioned and relaxing abode

A wonderful stay in tranquil surrounds - great pool, everything we needed to make our own food, comfy beds, gorgeous unique garden bathroom. Bus at the door, supermarket up the road, easy times! We will stay here again for sure.

Bali style retreat with a few drawbacks

Our accommodation was more suited to a family rather than 4 adults. Bunk bed was very uncomfortable, position of ladder made it difficult to get in and out of bed. Bunk bed shared same room as dining table and entry so not a lot of privacy. The position is close to Nelly Bay and reasonably quiet - the next door neighbour started up outboard motor on boat around 9.30 am sunday morning and revved it hard for around 45 minutes which we felt was pretty ordinary form - not the fault of the owners but beware if you are staying there and looking for a sleep in. Nice pool, but cold for swimming at this time of year but would be great in summer. One thing we really get annoyed about is gas running out on BBQ and sure enough it happened after 5 minutes on saturday night and that ruined dinner. It was fixed next day but too late by then. All up - ok but we have definitely experienced better at other places on the island

Peace, Harmony & Tranquility

This is an absolutely fabulous place to relax, unwind, chill out, get in touch with your inner self. Everything you could wish for, courtyards, barbeque, gardens and pool. Totally self contained. Previously a wellness centre. Within walking distance to shops and beaches, although bus service at the door. My new home when visiting Magnetic Island.

FABULOUS & VERY RESTFUL

If you want restful surroundings & don't care if you wash dishes (no dishwasher) this the place. Lovely garden's, pool & BBQ area. Possums & curlews by night. Clean with comfy beds. No need to bring a thing. Great Value. Thank you Monica.

Glad we chose to stay here.

Great place. An easy walk to the supermarket, or you could hop on the bus that stops outside and go exploring. Our 6 year old daughter spent time outside discovering all sorts of interesting things in the garden. The pool was refreshing and there were a couple of pool toys to play with. We would stay here again, if ever we came back.

We loved staying at Shambala. A great place to relax and get away from it all. A quiet and peaceful location, well located, bus stop very close by. We loved the uniqueness of our cottage, the outdoor shower was a treat. Good value. We would definitely stay again. (Family with 2 children, age 6 and 8)

We stayed for 1 week at the Shambhala Retreat at Nelly Bay {Magnetic Island} .It was a fantastic cottage and a delightful garden with a very nice barbecue area .We enjoyed every minute staying there .Very peaceful and we intend coming back again .We have travelled all over Aussie but this was the best place we stayed so far no doubt .Jack and Tina Oostra.

We loved staying here!! It was the perfect retreat for us for our stay on Maggie Island. We really felt like we were 'island' living as this retreat offered beautiful tropical gardens, a pool, very secluded and the accommodation was very comfortable! Can't wait to stay here again :-)
