Disfrute de la reclusión de esta casa de vacaciones OBX, ubicada en la sección de tracción en las cuatro ruedas de Outer Banks, Carova Beach. Esta casa está ubicada a 7. 4 millas de donde terminan las carreteras pavimentadas en Corolla y se requiere un vehículo 4WD para acceder a la propiedad. Great Beach House with everything we needed

We loved everything about this house. From the location to the decor and it was stocked with everything we needed. We had horses in our yard every day and the sunrise views from the pavilion were absolutely beautiful! We will definitely be back.

Perfect house for our family!

Beautiful, well kept house on the most beautiful dunes! Sunrises are amazing and we spent a lot of time relaxing in the hot tub! The house fit our family perfect and we felt at home as soon as we stepped in. We saw several horses on the property which was amazing! Would love to return in the future.

Excellent property

We loved this house! It was clean and exactly as advertised. The 4x4 beach was definitely an adventure. The house was equipped w everything we needed. The short walk to the beach was convenient. We went for my husbands 50th w a small group of family and friends and everyone enjoyed it. We would def recommend! Hopefully we will be back! Well done Bears Inn!!! Thank you for an enjoyable week 😃

Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated

Beautiful home that fit my family perfectly (we had 11 family members at the house). Very well decorated and very clean. We had an amazing time and loved seeing the wild horses walking around the property! The only downfall was the heavy flooding in the area after a severe rainstorm. It was our first time visiting Carova Beach, so I didn't realize how badly the sand roads flood (not just this property but most of the houses in Carova Beach). If you get beautiful weather while there, then it's not a problem. Overall, we really enjoyed staying at the house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 4th time staying at Bear Inn. We love it here. The place was exceptionally clean upon arrival. The kitchen is the best equipped kitchen of any place I have ever stayed. There is no need to bring beach chairs as they have plenty of nice chairs. Beds are comfortable. The house was very comfortable for our family of 8. We had a brief time without water and the “Water Man” contractor was immediately at our house to repair the pump. I would highly recommend staying at Bear Inn!

Not all we hoped for

The house is low so it doesn't actually have an ocean view unless you walk out to the gazebo. Getting out into town via the beach was inconvenient because you had to adjust your tire pressure in and out and it was slow travel on the beach - you can't just run out for things quickly. Overall it was a fun experience for the kids but we won't do it again.

A pure gem

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time staying at Bear Inn. I was worried things might have changed with the new owners, but to our surprise everything was just how we remembered it, if not better. I was disappointed to see the same old gas grill and no longer see the charcoal grill. Last we cooked over charcoal because the gas grill would not cook our food. This year I removed the flame guards and cooked directly over the flames and had no problem until the last day when I went to change out the propane tank and realized that both tanks were empty. Would I recommend this place to anybody? No, I would love to keep this place as a secret gem and we all ready have our 2024 stay booked. See you next year!!

“Just OK”

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: “The difference between something good and something great is attention to detail.” For a 35 year old home, Bear Inn is good but needs some “attention to detail”. Overall we enjoyed our two week stay but we arrived to find the ice maker not working and several light bulbs missing. At dusk we discovered the gazebo lights and the carport lights were out as well (very dark on the street side for walking dogs). The “legs” of several pieces of furniture were about to fall off which could potentially cause injury to guests. All of these issues were reported to Beach Realty. On the positive side, there is a great gas grill (advertised as charcoal) and the beds were super comfy. We did see the wild horses on several occasions which is always delightful. As an FYI for those who love to cook, bring knives and skillets - all of the knives were dull and the skillets scratched and warped (due to pass guests’ disregard for property - I purchased some cheap non-stick skillets and left them in the house). We would not choose to rent this property again but it is still a good property.

Second Trip to Bear Inn, OBX

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Bear Inn two years ago and absolutely loved it. A house in great proximity to the beach. Perfect for our family.After looking at many other houses in Carova, we discovered that Bear Inn was available and so we couldn't wait to book it again.Now we know and accept that there are wild horses on this part of OBX. We love to see them grazing in the front yard, and even under the house at times. But we arrived to find that there was a huge pile of horse **** in the one parking area, as if the horses had been using the same toilet for weeks. We drove through it during the week and tried to not get any on our feet.The cleanliness of the house was poor. Dirt and hair on the floor, dust bunnies in the corners, dog hair on some pillows, , missing lightbulbs, beer cans and bottles (and half smoked cigars) in the yard. The dryer lint trap was jam packed with lint, as was the vent underneath the house. The outside shower needs some TLC and a simple $1 lock from Home Depot. There is a great new deck with a grilling and sitting area. The first night my son cooked the steaks while I pulled weeds from between the deck slats. On the north side of the house there is a little nook with a table and chair, just outside the master bedroom. We didn't use it because of the mildew that covers much of the siding.In the ground floor storage room there is a hole in the floor. Someone stuck an umbrella in it as sort of a warning to others. While packing up to leave, my son was carrying a cooler and fell through the floor at another spot, cutting his leg in several places.When we pay $5,000 for a week in OBX, we expect a bit more from the homeowner and rental company. We will likely not be back to Bear Inn in the future. I can't share pictures on this review, but am happy to share them with managementAll this said, we still had a wonderful time in OBX. We laughed at some of these issues, and got pissed at others

Where the Wild Horses Roam

Being surrounded by the grassy sand dunes, this property gave the feel of having a secluded beach while enjoying everything the Outer Banks has to offer. Daily sightings of the wild horses coming to and running through the property, including two sightings of 4-6 horses running along the beach. A short drive to Corolla to pick up food and other supplies. This property is well appointed and is in a perfect location. And the fact that dogs are allowed is a guarantee we will return. An all around great stay at a great place!

There were horses all around us and came in our yard on our last day. This is a vacation that my granddaughter will remember for a lifetime. The 4x4 beach was challenging at times but added a sense of adventure and fun that we all enjoyed. Thanks for the memories!

Relaxing family vacation

Only complaint was dog hairs on pillows, beds, bedding, furniture and trundles required that we sweep the entire home upon arrival. Had to do some bedding laundry too when we arrived due to dog hairs.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Bear Inn this summer. This place is great and provides fun for all ages! It was clean, comfortable and the accessibility to the beach was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again in the future.
