Our 2nd stay

This was our second stay. The house is perfect for our family of grandparents and two families with young children. The location to the beach is our favorite part with the crow's-nest a close second. It's not fancy but has everything you could want and is comfortable and clean. The laundry room is stocked with chairs and some beach toys. We also really enjoy the bikes! Thanks for another great year Bob!

Family Memories Made

Being our third visit to this house within 5 years that says how much we definitely love this beach home. The short walk to the beach is a must when you have little ones to take. The three floors give privacy to multiple age groups, and the main floor is spacious to include everyone. The private pool is clean, and the crow's nest gives a wonderful view of sunrise and sunset. This house has rustic charm mixed with the essentials of a great beach vacation. We are so blessed to have found this perfect spot...thank you Ted and Lynne for sharing this place with others. You have granted us endless family memories.

Fun Place for the Family to Stay

Little to nothing to do (peaceful)

The house was absolutely beautiful lots of steps, very close to the beach good access but as for amenities, everything was very far away and the town closed way too early even the liquor store closed by 6 PM so if you’re looking for a party type environment This is not the place for you if you’re looking to relax at the beach and read a book it’s perfect. There was a few things that were not the cleanest, but I don’t wanna post those on here because I believe it’s really not the owner’s problem as far as what was messed up. I think it’s there cleaning crew Not doing their job correctly.

Duck House fits the bill!

We stayed here for our Spring Break week with two families for a total of 4 adults and 3 teens. The house has so much room that we could have brought a whole other family and still had plenty of room. The teens enjoyed having their own floor and separate bedrooms with plenty of TVs and a desk of their own. The game room with a pool table and foosball tables came in handy and was a great addition. The Crow's Nest was absolutely one of our favorite parts and our friends watched almost every sunrise and several days of dolphin watching. The pool wasn't supposed to be open but we asked after saying we didn't originally want to use it and they were able to open it for us on Tuesday! We actually got some use out of it even though it was cold weather. The hot tub was amazing and we saw one beautiful starry night. The beds were very comfy as well. The bikes are a great thing to have and were used several times. The only things that we would change are the top floor bedroom door doesn't stay closed and could be easily fixed, more toilet paper, no extra charge for sheets and towels and liquid soap instead of bar soap. This house was absolutely phenomenal and we would 100% come back again! Thanks for sharing!!

Off-Season Stay for Ultra Marathon

We came to the OBX to support a family member running the Blackbeard's Revenge 100-mile race in March 2025. This house is great for a group or large family because of the variety of sleeping arrangements possible and the number of bedrooms that each have a private bath. We also appreciated the game room and laundry on the first floor. Beautiful decks with ocean views, including a screened-in porch. Great trip overall!

Perfect Getaway- Spacious home for entire family

So close to the beach, great house with plenty of room for everyone. Location was perfect. Game room was a plus! Easy check in and check out. Would rebook!

Memorable beach access for emotional family gathering.

We gathered as family for our mother's burial, and this home was just right for a very emotional visit. There are plenty of places for family interaction, especially the crow's nest (watched dolphins from here!) and hot tub. Our host was very responsive and helpful when responding to our questions. A couple of minor suggestions: 1. Suggest better lighting in grill area (near parking). Bottom step near grill is half height, so lighting extra important. Could the grill be placed upstairs on balcony? 2. The main areas were clean, but housekeeping needs to better vacuum bedrooms. Thank you for a memorable experience.

We had a great time. Its the second year in a row we have stayed here. We love the location and home 🏡 The key pad to unlock the keys to the house has been hard to open both times but orher than that everything is great! Until next time! Highly recommended.

Nice Place - Nice Location

Wonderful accommodations with nice amenities. Gracious hosts. Location was very conducive to our activities. Several good restaurants in close proximity. The beach can be seen from a couple of levels and is located just across a private drive and the protective dune. Lots of wildlife around. Recommended stay!

Beach and family friendly!

The house is big enough for everyone to have their own space but also big enough for everyone to be together! We loved the short walk to the beach, and the views from the crows nest. We had a great time and would definitely rent again.

Great place

Location, house and owners are all amazing. You can't beat the walk to the beach and the view from the crow's nest. The oweners are great communicators and very accomodating!

Excellent but needs upkeep

We stayed in Duck at this lovely house because our own, somewhat newer and better maintained beach house in Corolla was booked for the week we needed to accommodate one of our kids' families. Location is great, just steps to the beach, and the house is nice and large with room for all 12 of us. Our only complaint is that small details, like broken blinds and places needing fresh paint, are being ignored, which is a pity since the overall experience was excellent.

Hope to return!

We've been staying in OXB since 2015 and this house has been a favorite and we hope to return next year! It's well stocked and you can't beat the location and beach access. Bikes, chairs, umbrellas, pool, hot tub are much appreciated bonuses to the awesome views and short walk to the beach (it's not even a walk, maybe a skip) The owner had good communication when the AC froze up and a very nice manager was there within the hour. We hope you'll have us back! Thank you :)

In raising our two kids in Virginia, it was natural for us to go to the Outer Banks to enjoy the ocean and some of the best beaches in the world! Over the years we talked about the possibility of getting a place of our own in the Outer Banks, and eventually we were able to make it happen.

We looked at many properties in the area, but kept coming back to Duck. There was something special in Duck. As a real estate friend told us upon asking him what made Duck unique, he said, in all seriousness, "because Duck is Duck!" What that meant to us is that Duck offers all the benefits of a beach vacation getaway, along with a sense of community and civic pride, in addition to parks, shopping, dining and night spots.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The most appealing quality of our home is its proximity to the beach - it is literally just a few steps from the front door. In addition, the crow's nest offers a wonderful spot to savor morning coffee and watch the breakers roll in, or enjoy a sunset over the sound. Pool and hot tub provide just about all you might need, and the house is comfortable and easy to live in.
