Perfect vacation

This house is amazing with everything you could think of! We traveled with 12 people and there were things to do without even having to leave the house. Very clean and the pool was amazing. Definitely recommend!!!

Great house for handicapped travelers which is hard to find. On top of that the pool is great and private, and the house, while in a community/cul de sac, feels so private and isolated. The large back yard is great for the doggies to run. LOVED that each bedroom had its own private bathroom. This is a fantastic property. The teens liked that there were lots of restaurants, shopping, walmart, grocery stores all 1 mile away from the house. Thank you!

Wonderful vacation at Serene Dream!

My family has stayed at Serene Dream multiple times, the home, property, location, and owner engagement never disappoints! Very close access to the beach w/private beach parking. Secluded away on a beautiful lot on the canal. Fishing, kayaking, and swimming in the private pool all on the property makes this home one of the best vacation destinations.

Quiet Comfort!

My family absolutely loves this place. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is just minutes away from anything you could want to do at the beach. This location offers the quiet comfort that I need to recharge my batteries and is close enough for the rest of the family that wants to be on the go. Ron is the best host and will address any need asap. He will even call to check on you during your stay and tell you to call him if you need anything at all. Doesn't get any better than this in my opinion.

October friends getaway

The home is in a beautiful location in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The home is extremely well appointed- the kitchen has a great supply of pots, pans, dishes & anything we needed. The owners were responsive and communicated clearly. It was a wonderful relaxing get-away week for our group of 5 friends & my mini Aussie.

Relaxing

The home itself is clean and tastefully decorated. The yard, pool and canal area were equally as well kept. The neighborhood is a lovely, quiet residential area. Great place for families!

"Best. Trip. Ever! A Fun and Fabulous Getaway!"

Initially, we were a bit nervous about not being Oceanside, but we quickly realized it was the perfect mix of ocean and sound waters! This place has everything you could ever dream of—an amazing kitchen, spacious and comfy bedrooms, a fun game room, and an incredible outdoor living space! Everything, from the pool to the hot tub to the living spaces, was sparkling clean. The canal location was a bonus for fishing, crabbing, and kayaking. There’s something for everyone to enjoy! The ocean is just a hop, skip, and jump away! We loved the privacy and seclusion of this spot. A definite 10/10 from the Aldrich family! Ron and Marianne are the sweetest and super responsive! We’ve been coming to OBX for years, and this house is hands down our favorite. We can’t wait to book again!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation at Serene Dream

We had a wonderful vacation at Serene Dream with our family - kids and grandchildren. The grandchildren were ages 9-19. The house was great. It was a lovely home and had something for everyone from the well appointed kitchen, to the game room for the kids, to the pool for all. The parking passes to the private parking for those who wanted to go to the beach were a life saver to keep from having to hunt for and pay for parking. A couple of the older kids rode bikes one day that were there in the garage. We cooked on the grill every day. The kids and adults alike enjoyed the fishing and crabbing from the backyard. You really didn't have to leave the house if you didn't want, but if you did, everything was right there nearby and easy to get to. However, you would never know it by the way the house was tucked away in the cul-de-sac and trees on the water and was so peaceful. The owners were so nice and easy to get along with. We will definitely plan on staying here again.

Family Vacation

House, amenities and grounds were all excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was always something to do both inside and outside. Had a blast discovering what the OBX are about from the historic end to the beach end. Comforting knowing you had the house to come back to and continue the day with fishing, crabbing or inside game room. The house was stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need. The hosts were very friendly and responsive when needed. All and all a great time. Peaceful and relaxing

Excellent Location and Property

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our spring break stay at this VRBO location. The convenient location made it easy to go to the beach, the store, and wonderful restaurants. We were traveling with two 12 year old boys and needed an area where they could ride their bikes unsupervised without the worry of dangerous traffic. The boys found nearby parks and trails leading to the beach plus many areas to safety ride their bikes.The property had basketball, large yard to pass ball, a recreation room and the canal to fish, so the family had plenty to do even when it rained. The location was close to the unique area of the Duck shopping center (always a favorite pastime.) The home was so well laid out with plenty of room for my husband and daughter to work. Each bedroom had access to their own bathrooms and televisions. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and plenty of eating spaces. The hot tub was conveniently located off of the great room. Our hosts were excellent to work with and provided answers to all of our questions! We all were very delighted with our stay!

Early Thanksgiving

Our family consisted of nine - one 4 year old great-granddaughter; two grandsons and their wives; our daughter and her husband; and ourselves (seniors). Ron, the owner, was exceptional to work with... kind, generous, helpful, answered all questions, and most of all, a very caring man. It had been quite a few years since we'd been to OBX so this visit/stay was special. And the weather for this time of year was perfect! I highly recommend this property for family and friends to gather for any occasion... wonderful location!

Best stay we've ever had

We loved everything about this property. The house is gorgeous with everything you would need. Trees on the sides and front give it a very private feel and is on a cul-de-sac so there is virtually no traffic. The back yard is right on the canal and provides a very peaceful setting and view. Shopping for groceries and a Walmart is very convenient at less than a mile away. The owner of the property was great to deal with and contacted us to make sure that everything was satisfactory. We would definitely choose here again on our next trip to the Outer Banks.

This was a repeat stay at this property. It has it all, 5 bedrooms, spacious living area, pool, hot tub, yard for pets, canal to fish in, game room too.

Southern Shore Vacation

I spoke to Ron prior to leaving for our vacation to his property. He never mentioned anything about the air conditioning unit not working properly on the second floor. He called to tell me there was a gift certificate for cookies and we would have to pay a few dollars because they increased their prices. His daughter was at the house and she used one and had to pay. He was upset that the cookie company was charging us. He should have informed us about the air conditioner when he called. As posted in the previous review on September 6,2023, the air conditioning was not functioning on the second floor. We arrived on September 9, and still not working. Ron offered to reimburse us for fans and inflatable mattresses. There were 3 fans at the house when we arrived. His daughter was there the week before we arrived. The nighttime temperatures were cooler than our week. The upstairs nighttime temperature was 83. We carried mattresses downstairs so everyone could sleep where it was comfortable. Our granddaughter slept in the primary closet. Our son slept in the dining room. It is a beautiful home at a great location. We enjoyed the pool and the beach not far from the homeWe had a wonderful time and made the best of the situation. Ron did refund us an additional $100.00 stating it was what he would have reimbursed us for an inflatable mattress. We paid for five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and a huge game room. We could not use two bedrooms, one bathroom and the game room.

Stay at Kitty Hawk

The House advertised on VRBO as 5 Bedrooms, 5 baths etc. Only 3 Bedrooms and 4 Baths were were inhabitable, the upstairs Cooling was inoperable. the Temperature upstairs was around 92f during the day then around 85f during the night. Needless to say you cant sleep in that comfortably. I will use other means on the next Family Trip.

My family has been coming to the Outer Banks for almost 25 years. We fell in love with this wonderful beach area the first time we stayed back in 1987. We returned 3 weeks after our first trip to visit again. We built our home because the area it is located is so peaceful and serene. Each day when the sun goes down you hear the birds finishing their chirpings and the crickets coming to life. It is truly a calming place to come and relax away from your hectic everyday life. We wouldn't give it up for anything.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

You can walk out the back door and go fishing, crabbing and kayaking. If you are unlucky and have a rainy day there is a game room with Air Hockey, Foosball and a large Poker Table. The game room also includes a dry bar with a refrigerator, microwave,
blender and flat screen TV. If the game room is not for you a Movie Library with over 300 films and a new Ping Pong Table are available. There are also over 75 Paperback Books available for you reading pleasure. If you are not done reading when your trip is over please take the book with you. Almost anything you might need is less than a mile away with 2 big Grocery Stores, Seafood Store, 2 Chinese take Outs, Subway, Deli, Pizza, Walmart, an ABC Liquor Store and 6 Banks.
And on those sunny days you can take a quick few minute ride to a our Private Beaches, jump into the pool (open May to October) or play a pickup game of Basketball right out the side door. At night, if feeling a little achy from your fun filled day you can take a nice dip in the Hot Tub on the back deck or go night swimming in the solar heated pool.
