We were a Red Hat Ladies group of 5 women of a “certain age” who came to Schulenberg to see the Painted Churches. The house was the perfect place for us to stay since it is located just a short distance from the Chamber of Commerce where the tour started! Also, the house is located right across from the police department:). All five of us enjoyed the “Victorian” decor and home. It is beautifully decorated but thoughtfully done with plenty of seating and places to set luggage. Lighting is accessible and plentiful in each room. A Hoosier cabinet served as a great coffee and spice cabinet. There were many coffees and teas to choose from. The keurig worked well. You will enjoy all the rooms of the house and the many surprise little nooks and areas to use. We all sat out on the porch comfortably enjoying the evening cool breeze. The owner was so great to share much information on eateries and places to see while in this area. There was a minor glitch with opening the front door as the timer of the door did not match my watch on the time but Jesse responded quickly to assist. The thing to understand about the home is that there is one bathroom and it has a clawfoot tub so the tub may not be appropriately safe for “people of certain ages” to use. This didn’t bother the five of us since our stay was only two nights.and we did not use the tub. All five ladies said that this was such a fun, beautiful, relaxing trip and this great home provided the comfortable sleep.
