Matterhorn es una hermosa y espaciosa casa de vacaciones perfecta para varias familias o un grupo grande. Another wonderful weekend

For the past nineteen years our family has enjoyed a fall weekend getaway. For the past for years we have stayed at the Matterhorn Chalet. There are fourteen of us aging from 8 to 75 and this is a perfect fit for our group. It isn’t fancy but is a comfortable place for our four night stay. We make good use of the many beds and bathrooms. The living room is very big and the dining table plus the stools at the counter seats the entire family. The area is beautiful and there are endless opportunities for hiking and many great beaches to enjoy. We highly recommend and hope to return again next year.

Great Place to Stay

This place is a great place for a large group. We had 12 people and loved that each room had its own bathroom. The gathering area is quite large as well.

Highly recommend this place

We enjoyed staying at this resort. Very well stocked with everything you need. Grocery stores, hospital, places to eat and a brewery with in 15 min drive.

A nice place to return to.

We have stayed here twice. It is kid friendly and in a very quiet location. It would be nice if the hot tub was available during the off season, but understandable.

A lovely get-away

My adult children, their partners, and I all enjoyed our stay. Easy access to numerous hiking trails and we spent one day at the Apostle Islands. All the amenities were as described and house was really fabulous.

The second day we were there they groomed the hill by the house. It was great that the kids could ski right to the hill.

Ski trip with friends

The house was very comfortable and easily accommodated our group of 11 adults. It was clean and well stocked. There was plenty of room to hangout and to play games.

Wonderful family time

Matterhorn provided my family with a wonderful space to enjoy a four-day weekend. There was plenty of space for sleeping and and family meals. We spent a lot of time enjoying the area hiking and everyone had a wonderful weekend. we will definitely be back again!

Spacious home!!!

We had 7 kids and 9 adults and we all fit perfectly. Lovely location for waterfalls and Lake Superior. Home was VERY well stocked with slow cookers, electric griddle, cookie sheets, and more. No complaints.

Great family house

We had a great time. The only hiccup was that the run and lift the lodge was located on wasn’t open when we were there. It was remedied by a quick 3 minute drive.

Family trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Matterhorn stay

Matterhorn is a absolutely perfect place to stay to visit Bessemer and it’s Beautiful surroundings.. including our relatives who live in Bessemer. We have stayed there many times and it feels like home.. one thing I might mention is the little ants 🐜 that hang out in the kitchen. Dishwasher, and countertop.. The large tv was awesome for us to watch the soccer play off. Thank you for keeping it up so nicely. Hopefully we can stay there again next year.

We loved our stay. This is the second time we stayed there. But as much as we love it, we have been disappointed that we were not able to ski in ski out either year. So sadly. We are booking a different place next year.. if this place does not work out. We will be back . Our only complaint is that the whirlpool tub and the floor are showing their age. Last year it was not very clean so we brought cleaning supplies this year . Also, there was no dishwasher soap . Other than that....we loved it there.

Very enjoyable

It was a very enjoyable stay mostly. The only real issue we had is we couldn't figure out how to turn on the air so it got kinda toasty at times. Also there was no gas for the grill. Other than that was a very nice stay. But it could use some maintenance on the house. The house was pretty well clean. But could really use some extra deep cleaning in parts of the house

Lovely chalet

We had a lovely time staying at this property. There were 16 of us altogether, ages ranging from 3 to 60+. It was wonderful that each bedroom had it’s own bathroom, and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and play, read, or play games. The only problem we had was that the key access was listed at noon, and we mistakenly thought that was the time we could access the cabin. This caused a little mixup with the cleaning person, which we regretted. Other than that, everything was lovely...in good repair and very clean. Would love to stay here again sometime… Thanks for making us welcome and helping us have a great family vacation.

Large accommodations for a large family

We had a wonderful weekend at Matterhorn. This is the perfect setup for our 18th annual fall family trip. There is a bed for everyone and each family has their own bathroom. The kitchen is great for our family to cook and enjoy delicious meals with enough seating for the entire group. The living area has plenty of seating and the children have room for playing games. This year the weather was perfect for the kids to have fun running around outside. We love this property however it is beginning to show signs of heavy use. Some of the drains were running very slow, there are water spots on the kitchen ceiling, the cupboard doors are getting a little loose, the carpet is stained but this really didn’t impact our fun. I bet that we will be back again next year and maybe if we are lucky the place will be spruced up a little bit.

Great stay but no A/C

We all enjoyed the stay we had in this property. The rooms were nice. Facilities were good. However, the biggest drawback was that this house did not have air conditioning. It was so hot in the middle of the summer and mot of the occupants of the upper floor bedrooms could not sleep even after opening the windows. It looked like this house was not equipped with air conditioning at all. The front door opening was also a problem. It did not open even after we entered the security code. Then we had to call the property maintenance person and he informed us to rotate the lock handle upwards and then it opened. Please mention it to the next guests. Apart from the above mentioned two things, it was a pleasant stay.
