Piper Haus Chalet Unit 2

Piper Haus is a classic, cozy ski cabin for a large group of friends or family. We're one of the largest chalets at Big Powderhorn Mountain. The Piper Haus has two, separate units (this listing is for Unit 2 only), each with 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, its own kitchen with cookware, flat screen, and wifi. Each side also has its own hot tub, sauna, and indoor fireplace. (Hot tub and fireplace usable Sept-April.) The two units share the deck, grill, yard, and outdoor fire pit.

We are right across the street from Big Powderhorn Mountain, only 15-minutes from Blackjack Mountain and Indian Head Mountain, 1 hour from Porcupine Mountain State Park, 35 minutes from the Whitecap Mountains, 35 minutes to the spectacular waterfalls along the Presque Isle River, 18 minutes to sandy (and often empty) beaches on Lake Superior's Black River Harbor, and 10 minutes to Copper Peak. Snowmobile Trails, Snowshoeing, Cross-country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and ATV trails are all close by.

Regardless of the season, natural beauty and outdoor adventure are all around Piper Haus. Hit the well-known highlights, or find your own hidden treasures.

Wonderful Ski/Snowboarding Retreat

A great weekend retreat for friends and family! Super close to Big Powderhorn Mtn for our skiing and snowboarding group, and the hot tub & sauna were clutch for relaxing after a full day on the mountain.

This place was perfect, owners were even better. We are definitely coming back! We had a huge ice storm back at home, and they let us book another night and stay until the bridge was open.

Family reunion

We had a wonderful time at the Piper Haus! Great accommodations, made many precious memories celebrating our parents 60th anniversary. There was no one in unit 1 so we were able to utilize the whole deck for eating, playing games, chatting…There were 13 of us. The host responded quickly to all messages and inquiries, check in and out was seamless. We would go there again.

Powderhorn side by side duplex

House was just what we needed. Perfect location to all of the ski hills. Perfect location To watch New Years Eve fireworks over Powderhorn. Host was very helpful and quick to reply to questions!

Dated but effective

The 6 bedroom house is dated but prefect for the group of UTV riders we had. Plenty of trailer parking and large backyard with a fire pit. large deck with gas grills Thanks Again

We had the best time lots of room to park because we rented both sides spent time on the deck everything was good. The grass wasn’t cut because of so much rain but they came and cut the next day.

We were a group of 10, 5 couples, for a friends getaway 4 wheeling and SxS

It was a great location, not far from the trails, plenty of rooms available for each couple to have their own space, beautiful location!

Perfect getaway

We spent 3 nights at the piperhaus and we very happy with our stay. The other side was not rented so it felt like the entire outside area was ours I really liked that. We had some rain showers but still made the best of our trip bringing along games from home that we enjoyed. Saw 2 deer, one skunk and one gardener snake during our stay.

Great Location and personal service

Kim was very welcoming and gave excellent recommendations for local events and restaurants. A large platter of homemade sweets greeted us along with delicious local brew. This was our first trip to the UP and thoroughly enjoyed the slow paced culture. Unfortunately, the Powderhorn ski area was closed during our stay..still it was close to the waterfalls though.

perfect getaway for a large group

We had an excellent time at Piper Haus! It was incredible that all 23 of us were able to live in the same house for 4 days! The location is great for proximity to Walmart (groceries) and hiking trails. Bessemer is so beautiful in the summer! We all had such a great time playing cornhole in the backyard, roasting s’mores on the fire, eating meals on the deck, and enjoying the refreshing AC. Thanks for the memories 💕

Perfect spot close to the hill

Lovely spot with loads of rooms for a big group. Loved the hot tub and sauna after a day on the snow. Kitchen was tight but manageable for the big group size and everything was a breeze to check in/out.

Clean and spacious

House was clean and spacious with a great view of Ski hill. Loved being able to have a wood fire after a day of skiing. Everything worked as it should!

Great place for a ski weekend!

Overall we enjoyed the property. The check in and out process was very easy, the place was very clean, and we were just a few minutes from the Powderhorn lodge. Only downside is the kitchen and living area is a little small, if you expect to fill all 6 bedrooms with guests, making meals and spending time in the main living area is not convenient for a larger group if people.

Great place, highly recommend

We stayed here for a ski trip with 7 adults and had a great time. The property was extremely well maintained and the owners were very helpful and responsive. Each floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. I would highly recommend this property to any folks coming to the area.
