Cottage Shorefront en Northeast Harbor Maine

We do not understand this outlier review, as all our other reviews from 2023 are 5’s - consistent with years of previous VRBO “5” reviews, seen below. In addition, all the 2023 VRBO reviews comment on cleanliness and how much guests loved the house. Further, the guests who came the next week (October 28th to November 4), texted us “we had a very nice stay this week. Thank you! Howard” (Nov 4, 5:54 AM). These guests also wrote in our guest book: “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The view was spectacular and the house cozy. This house is conveniently located near Bar Harbor, as well as, towards Acadia National Park. There were also several lovely places to eat. Wonderful location, we enjoyed our time here! Thanks!” This outlier review ignores the fact that Tropical Storm Philippe battered the island days earlier, leaving debris, and that the guests also experienced continuous rain and wind in their first three days of their stay. A subsequent examination of the screen door track revealed no mold and that a small, broken plastic wheel, on the bottom of the screen, caused its dislodgement. This was quickly replaced. It also ignores that the photos on VRBO clearly show the style and attributes of the house and its furniture, and that the house is 75 feet from the private beach (Town of Mt. Desert Ordinance). These guests never contacted us during the week, although they had multiple opportunities and suggestions to contact us if they needed anything. We heard nothing throughout the week about any issues (including where alternative placemat sets were located).
