The home and host were lovely - simple check-in and check-out. The house was very clean and well-appointed - we appreciated the hosts attention to detail, including plenty of high quality linens/towels. This place captures all there is to love about Maine.

Perfect Lakefront Property

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing stay at this gorgeous home which is just as pictured. The open concept first floor allowed us all to engage in our activities while enjoying the stunning view. The first floor master suite was spacious and the bed very comfortable. I also got to watch the sunrise each morning from under the covers through the sliding doors in the room. Our adult children stayed upstairs and was very private. Our two grandchildren both wanted to stay in the bunk room even though there is another bedroom available - they ended up sleeping separately - I didn't realize how much they would both want the bunks. The house is well stocked in the kitchen with cookware, dinnerware - even down to martini glasses and cocktail shakers. We picked up our food provisions at the Hannaford about five minutes a way. Bridgeton is a small town close by and we enjoyed some of the shops and ice cream store. We picked up lobster one night and made our own rolls and pizza from the local spot for our last night. We brought hammocks for the yard, which were perfect, along with flotation devices which I would recommend. We had great weather and the lake is amazing - picture perfect. Communications with Curtis were quick and simple. A gracious host for a stunning property. Highly recommend.

Stunning lake front property.

My family stayed here. Two little, grands and even a great grand! Plenty of room. We have rented in past years but will definitely be coming back here. The home is extremely cleanly and stocked with things you need. I saw some negatives about the trash process but the dump site is truly right down the road. It’s not an issue at all. Don’t let that sway your decision. The view is worth the $$$. Having coffee on the deck alone was priceless. Thank you Ranta family for sharing this space with us!

Beautiful home

Clean, quiet, comfortable home with beautiful views. We enjoyed the ping pong table and separate space for kids and cooked some large meals in the well-equipped kitchen. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We hope to come back!

Absolutely perfect!

This was the 2nd year for us at this property and just like last year...it was wonderful. Three generations ranging from 4 months to mid-fifties, and everyone enjoyed it. The home is stocked with everything you could want and more! This property was amazing last year, yet we arrived to find upgrades. No question that this homeowner cares about both his proprty and guests. Thank you again Curtis for allowing us to rent your gorgeous home!

Winter Fun

We loved our stay at this property. We really only used the rooms on the first and second floors. The bedding was soft and comfortable. There were ample pillows. The owner, Curtis, was responsive via text. We had some icy conditions during our stay and when the ice melt was out he got his plow guy to come and sand the entire driveway within the hour. Bridgton is such a cute town. We enjoyed Shawnee peak for a couple days which was only 15 minutes away. Family lives in Lovell and the space was great to have them over for dinner. The grill had propane. The living/diving space was spacious for all of us to chat and eat. The kids loved the ping pong table and couch/tv space in the basement. Our only 2 complaints were that the bunk room downstairs couldn’t be used because it had painting supplies in there and didn’t seem safe for our two kids- and having to dispose of our trash ourselves. We have journeyed up to Nh and Maine these last two years and some vrbo owners don’t make you have to go to the dump. We would definitely stay here again.

home away from home

Beautiful home, very clean and well kept. The outdoor space was our favorite. It was perfect for our friends and we all had our own space when we needed it. Looking forward to staying here again someday!

Perfect!

Everything about this house was perfect. We were nothing short of pleased from the moment we arrived. This house was just as pictured and described. It lacked nothing! The entire house was very comfortable for all. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the open living and kitchen was perfect for all to gather and the family room/game area in the lower level was a bonus space for the kids. Everything from the linens to the furnishings were above what you might expect to find in a rental. The outdoor space was beyond comparison. The yard, dock area, views, kayaks and paddleboard were enjoyed by all. We had a couple of questions upon arrival, which were answered within minutes of a quick text to the owner. I would not hesitate to recommend or return to this one of a kind lake house.

Another great vacation time at Woods Pond

We all had a wonderful time in a beautiful home on a lovely, safe pond. Looking forward to many more weeks together there in the coming summers! Communication with owner regarding any issues was easy and handled in a timely manner.

Great stay

Te entire family enjoyed the long weekend. Plenty of kayaks, and canoe's to enjoy the water. Close to the town of Bridgton and it's amenities. Would defiantly consider going there again.

great house for winter play

I stayed at the house for 3 nights with my family (husband and 3 boys ages 13, 10, 8), my mom and my brother's family (his wife, their girls ages 3 and 1) and their dog. The view from the kitchen/living room/dining area is phenomenal. The kids loved the ping pong table and being able to sled in the backyard and skate out on the frozen pond. We had plenty of space for everyone. A few issues: The queen size mattress in the basement bedroom (where my husband and I slept) needs to be replaced - it was truly awful. The bunk room in the basement has no door - it would be great if there was at least a curtain there. And the baseboard heat in all but the bedroom in the basement wasn't working at all during our stay (living room, bathroom, bunk room thermostats). We brought this up to the owners but they were unable to get someone out to look at it until after we left. The main issue with this was that it was well below freezing at night during our stay and while the house held heat well, it was particularly uncomfortable to shower in the cold bathroom. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Great family spot!!

Amazing spot for a family of 8 or more!!! Phone and internet service was spotty at best but the outdoor activities more than cover that (and if it rains, head to the Magic Lantern down town for a table service movie theatre!!! Or spend the day at Bridgton Books (amazing comes to mind), a book store just like we grew up with!! Just loved this spot, we’ll be back!! ~Karen

Most beautiful and peaceful getaway

My husband and I had the most perfect vacation with our friends at the house on Woods Pond. The house is lovely, open, spacious, and has great water access. We loved being able to use the kayaks and spend our days floating on the lake. The house was truly perfect and we hope to return again.

Perfect location

House was great. We had a group of 10 for an annual trip and we’d definitely come back here. Plenty of room for lawn games, swimming, fires and great for just lounging around. Lots of room and lots of fun!

Great Home on a Gorgeous "Pond"

We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Valerie was great and extremely responsive during the booking process -- we didn't need anything during our stay though. The house was well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend. The "pond" is really a small lake and was super clean and delightful. Valerie has a nice little dock that juts out into the water and the kayaks were great to use. The house was clean upon arrival, check-in was easy and the property was gorgeous all around. I would definitely recommend this home for a nice weekend getaway! It's about a 5 min drive to Bridgton, which was a cute town with coffee shops and a Hannaford.

Beautiful home, Wonderful location

The house is brand new, very tastefully done. The living room and master bedroom both overlook the beautiful lake. Very private, dead end street. Plenty of parking. We visited during January. The lake was frozen and allows ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating. The owner was very easy to communicate with, she always responded very promptly. It is definitely on our return list.

A property with several features and a major deficiency.

There are numerous features of this beach side property that our three generation family of seven adults and five youngsters enjoyed during our vacation week in August. A spacious front lawn along with a few shrubs and trees provided a flexible mix of sun and shade to meet the needs of everyone in our party. The small sandy beach with a gentle slope into the water was perfect for toddlers. The water is clear although out deep the bottom is rather mucky. Although the kitchen is hardly equipped to satisfy the needs of a demanding chef, the conveniently located barbeque served as the centerpiece for preparing most of our meals.  The additional but limited seating on thedeck provided a pleasant alternative for taking our mid-day meals. Measured against most lakeside rentals, the HVAC and water supply are excellent.  Our list of deficiencies could be shortened by addressing some of the following limitations: Garbage cans with secure lids would deter nighttime scavengers from creating a mess, Auxilliary storage to shelter our seven bicycles and numerous strollers would have been a big plus, And a wifi signal with enough bandwidth to read the newspaper was notably absent. All members of our party would have applied a higher rating had the bedding been of at least minimum quality. Regrettably, the noisy and uncomfortable mattresses contributed to numerous sleepless nights. For many in our party, the living room sofa and excess futons became the bedding of choice during our stay.

Several generations of my family owned lake property in the Berkshires. We enjoyed watersports and boating activites during our summers there and even some skating and xc skiing as conditions permitted. We used to have property at Sunday River and in recent years, we have enjoyed many mountains and lakes in Maine and New Hampshire, which are closer to our homes in Boston and the North Shore of Massachusetts. We are eager to continue to make memories with family and friends in our new home-away-from-home on the shore of serene Woods Pond. We are pleased to be able to offer our home for others to enjoy responsibly during some weeks of the year.
