Recién restaurado Cuna Mt casa 12min a Nat Parque

Nuestro lugar está cerca del Parque Nacional Montaña de la horquilla, en 100 acres con un arroyo (con ornitorrinco), manantiales naturales y selva nativa alpino. El paisaje es muy bonito, con una abundancia de vida silvestre y la serenidad.

La casa es una de las pocas propiedades en esta zona donde se puede preparar su propia comida. Se adapta a dos parejas o una pequeña unidad de grupo o familia. Una habitación tiene una cama doble y dos camas individuales, el otro tiene una cama de matrimonio, así como una breve sofá-cama nido que podía dormir dos niños pequeños. La casa tiene un baño nuevo, con una profunda bañera de hierro fundido, una nueva ducha, un WC separado (en séptico nuevo) y una sólida cuenca de roble de Tasmania de la renombrada diseñadora de muebles de Tasmania Laura McCusker

Nos tomó seis años restaurar esta casa en las tierras altas. Estamos muy orgullosos de poder compartir ahora. Cuando encontramos la cabaña en 2010, estaba en mal estado, prácticamente abandonada. Su habitación individual original había sido extendido para agregar dos habitaciones; también tenía una serie de cobertizos corrugado cerca. El techo de tejas de madera se había cubierto de hierro corrugado. A pesar de al menos 70-80 años de habitación intermitente, no tenía electricidad, cocina ni baño cuando comenzamos.

Nuestro objetivo era restaurar y adaptarlo para el uso moderno, sino también para preservar su atractivo único e integridad como High Country Shack. Siempre que sea posible, hemos materiales (continuación demolición de gran parte de la reconstrucción de la cabaña) reutilizado, o utilizado materiales reciclados como el hierro corrugado y madera, la cocina de mediados de siglo y la bañera de otros lugares.

Lo usamos como una casa de familia, y nos gusta cocinar y caminar. Tenemos una gran cantidad de DVDs y juegos (algunos muy pasada de moda) para el clima húmedo, y la estufa de leña Tassie Barrell significa guisos pueden ser lento-cocinados y malvaviscos tostados

Wildlife at your door

We all loved, the seclusion, the landscape, the wildlife, the homey comfort, the proximity to Cradle Mountain, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, great claw foot bath, games and jigsaw puzzles too.

Cozy winter stay

It really didn't matter what the weather was up to we were so comfortable inside. Beautiful bush block to explore and a short drive to Cradle Valley and many other walks. We had the best time.

This house was a joy to stay at. It was cosy, comfortable, well-stocked, and just a perfect place to wind down. Mornings on the porch with a cup of tea watching the mist rise across the land were glorious, especially on the days when the resident pademelon hopped over to say hello. Genevieve is helpful, responsive and lovely. Thanks very much for a wonderful start to our Tassie trip.

Great base to explore the local area

Rustic cabin on the outside and the necessary amenities on the inside. Comfortable layout with delightful verandah where we enjoyed long summer evenings. The property has some short pleasant walks. Genevieve is a generous host, very easy to communicate with.

Modern rustic solitude

Don’t let the “Shack” appearance nor name fool you. Inside is more modern amenities than other “luxury” homes. Towel warmers in bathroom, and bed warmers and fully outfitted as any home. I would stay here again. Even came with a “pet” wild wallaby who shows up for coffee on mornings and wineoclock asking for her share of snacks.

Loved it!

This is an amazing property! The house itself has been built/restored beautifully. Very cozy when it's cold outside. The surrounding land is great for walks with a couple of forests as part of the property. It's a short drive to Cradle Mountain National Park too. All up, a great place for a holiday...will be back.

Peacefull accomodation!

Lovely and well restored tinny house. Well furnished with all you need for cooking, to set up the fire, and even an high chair for a baby. The highlight was the neighbours… no one, expect some kangaroos who came out on the evening to eat the grass - was amazing! Highly recommend this house and would love to come back.

Perfect peaceful getaway!

My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Moina. The property was such a tranquil setting for walks and endless hours of play and discovery. Inside the refurbished hut was quaint yet homely. Holding the character and cosiness of an old mountain hut with homely conveniences. Ticked all the respite boxes. Highly recommend and thank you for your hospitality.

Can’t fault this exceptional property. The perfect property for exploring Cradle Mountain

Staying at Bull Plains was the absolute highlight of our Australian holiday. We stayed with our daughters who are in their 20s and we all fell in love with it. It has been lovingly, tastefully and authentically restored. The owners have thought of everything and it is exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. The icing on the cake is the location, surrounded by beautiful bush, with wonderful and varied flora and fauna and a host of native animals and birds. The photos do not do justice to this magical house. It offers easy access to Cradle Mountain National Park which is only 15 minutes away. We stayed for 4 nights which gave us 3 full days to explore the Park, which felt the right amount time to explore the main trails. We don’t think you can find anything better this gorgeous house.

Food for the soul

Bull Plains was all we'd hoped for and more. The property was stunning to wander and explore, while the house took ample care of our creature comforts. We only wish we'd booked to stay longer. Our kids loved it so much they wanted to move in! And we didn't turn the tv on once. My favourite moments were taking a chair from the verandah, sitting in the afternoon sun and soaking in the nature all around me. Genevieve was an excellent host, making sure we got access instructions and responding promptly and with care when a small issue arose. Thoroughly recommend this stay to anyone wanting to get off the well worn tourist track and immerse themselves in a little piece of Tassie wilderness.

Character cottage in the wilderness

The perfect place to get away from it all and wind down. The house is cosy and comfortable with a pot bellied fire, books. vidoes and games. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed exploring the property spotting birds and wallabies. It was a great base from which to lainch our Overland track expedition.

We came for Cradle Mountain, but this shack was the best surprise of the trip!

This place is amazing, I hope we can come back. It was easy to find, easily accessible to Cradle Mountain and checking in was a breeze. The property itself is wonderful, we enjoyed strolling along the bush tracks and creek trying to meet the local wildlife. The house is everything you could possibly need and more. It has a wonderfully homey feel, fully equipped kitchen and the house has everything you could think of to keep the whole family entertained. The host is very generous with sharing their own supplies/belongings to enhance the overall experience of the stay. During our stay it was cool and rainy, but with the woodfire, it was the perfect way to stay cosy. After hiking, the bath is a welcome reward to finish the day. This is nothing like staying at a hotel but in our opinion it was infinitely better!

Rustic but has it all!

So peaceful, glorious bush, marvellous Tassie pot belly stove that kept us warm all night, such a comfy bed, so cosy. Loved walking around the forests and creeks, enjoying the friendly wallabies and a smattering of snow. Unable to spot platypuses on this trip (after very heavy rains) so must come back! We also had a great day at the Cradle Mountain National Park, which is easily accessible from here.

Family Fun

Genevieve was so helpful. Perfect place to switch off literally, no phone, internet or TV service but acres of forest to explore with gum boots provided! Board games, lego, marbles, puzzles and the fire is perfect for toasting marshmallows. We loved our stay and can’t wait to visit again 😀

A special place

This place was one of our most favourite places to stay in Tassie- considered and creative touches whilst being respectful of the beautiful natural environment. Truly a special place and so convenient to Cradle Mountain and all its magic! Our family loved our stay here.

Just gorgeous

This was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The environment is stunning, the hut so authentic. Warm and comfortable with everything you could need. Easy access to Cradle Mountain NP. I wish we'd stayed longer. Highly recommend.
