This home was perfect for what I needed. House was very clean and all amenities were perfect. Chip was very welcoming and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Bed was comfy and great neighborhood and location.

Chip’s place was exactly as described and perfect for our stay in Austin. The house was clean and well stocked, and Chip was a great host. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Bunkhouse!

Our stay at Chip’s Bunkhouse couldn’t have been better! The location was perfect - just a short drive to the Circuit of the Americas, located in a quiet neighborhood, and close to several great restaurants. The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated. Chip was very responsive to all our questions. We’d highly recommend staying at the Bunkhouse.

Perfect place to stay on south side of Austin. If you’re looking for a party place - this is not it. Just a clean, cozy, quiet place to call home for a while.

Peaceful place to stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Bunkhouse. Comfortable and located in a very peaceful spot. Chip was quick to respond any time we needed anything. We will definitely stay again anytime we are in South Austin.

Perfect Stay

Not a single thing to complain about.. from the neighborhood (cool and convenient), the owner (came by to say hi and then was invisible the rest of the stay), to the home itself (clean, comfortable, inviting), this might be the best overall short-stay I've experienced.

Our Getaway from the City

My wife and I were very pleased to stay at this nice cozy house to spend some time together and visit the parks in the area. The place was clean and cozy in its very peaceful neighborhood. Will be coming back in Spring or sooner. It was also a pleasure to meet Chip.

Just what we needed and nothing we didn’t want.

We were looking for a No Pets place to stay (allergies) near Austin. This fit the bill. Not a party place. Just a nice clean comfy place to call home when we are in the area visiting our son.

Beautiful, great spot, all the comforts of home.

This place could not have been more perfect. It is on the outskirts of Austin so you miss the traffic. It is beautiful and we felt at home as soon as we walked in. The decor is western with a real Texas welcome. There was wine waiting for us when we walked in and after a full day of driving we were happy to drink it. The back yard is like an oasis in the desert. It is shaded by beautiful trees and we were able to sit out all evening. The owner was very helpful and informative and yet did not invade our privacy at all. We completely enjoyed our stay and if we head to the Austin area again we will asking to stay at the "Bunkhouse".

The Bunkhouse

My wife & I recently enjoyed 2 weeks @ this tastefully appointed first rate vacation rental-actually a free standing small house situated on a separate lot next door to the owner's home in South Austin. Although originally a rural location, Austin has grown out to surround this lovely spot which along with the contiguous property encompasses several acres of lawn & beautiful live oak trees under which we sat outside & enjoyed the fabulous fall weather (mornings & evenings). There is plenty of privacy although the owner is accessible & responsive to any needs you might have. In keeping with the bunkhouse theme there are numerous western touches in the decorations, art & furnishings. There is an HD wide screen Sony TV & cable/internet. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking (even supplied with coffee, filters, sweetener & half/half ) as well as a convenient laundry just off the kitchen with detergent bleach , etc. There are excellent nearby stores such as HEB, Central Market, Whole Foods. Numerous restaurants, music venues, western wear & attractions such as Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Park & walking/biking trail (bike rentals available) around Town Lake in Central Austin are only a few minutes away via I-35. So much to do—be sure to avail yourself of your gracious host’s deep local knowledge of “what’s happn’in” in Austin!

Absolutely Perfect in every way

If I could give a rating of 10 I would. Perfectly located...near to Austin but feels like you’re in the country. Plenty of parking and the neighborhood is lovely. This unit has everything you need to make it your home away from home. Granddaughters, and Nana, loved the fenced in backyard. Will definitely stay here again.
