This property is in a fantastic location and very nice. We walked to the shops and it was a beautifully landscaped walkway. Gorgeous home and yard. We noticed the dishes were oily and decided to just wash them before using. That didn’t bother us much. However, the last day my brother was stripping the bed and there was a large brown spot that looked like human feces on the pillow he didn’t use. Unfortunately that is the lasting impression we have of this place. After checking out we notified the owner. He stated that if we had told him he would have sent over someone. Well we were checking out and contacted him as soon as we noticed the extremely unsanitary condition of the bedding in that bedroom. I have a picture of the pillow but do not know if I can upload it here. If I owned this property I would immediately dismiss whoever I had cleaning the property and hire someone new.

Beautiful property

We had a great little vacation in Carmel. This little property was everything we were looking for. Convenient location. Beautiful backyard, lots of room for outdoor sitting and room for our kids to play and dog to run around. We would definitely rent this home again.

Charming home in perfect location

We loved our short stay at this storybook home! It is absolutely lovely and in a gorgeous location. The pics don’t do it justice. The grounds are meticulous, and the home was very well laid out to accommodate our family. We all slept well and truly enjoyed our stay! The host was responsive and helpful as well. Totally recommend!

Nice cottage near D/T Carmel and 17 Mile Drive Gate

Everything was as advertised in the home. Very comfortable beds and a great back yard for hanging out. Would recommend some more patio furniture for future guests to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Carmel climate, but wasn't a problem for us. We'll rent again when we're down playing golf on the worlds finest golf courses.

Lovely location for a getaway with friends

This place is ideal for anyone looking to have a nice getaway in Carmel. The house was great size for our group. (we had 6 people and dogs) The outdoor area was spacious and fenced in, so it was perfect for our dogs to run around and enjoy the outside. It is within walking distance from downtown Carmel, and 15 min drive to Monterey. We had a bit of issues with the door code not working, but the host was quick in responding and resolving any questions/issues I had throughout the weekend.

Great location easy walk to Carmel village. appeared to be recently remodeled. all accommodations or as described with expansive deck and backyard allowing for plenty of daytime guests and accommodating dogs as needed. Adhered to local parking regulations. Moderate Wi-Fi and some electrical lights not fully functional.

Adorable house and close to town. There is a nice deck and hot tub. Home is on the older side, but nicely furnished inside. Beds are very comfortable. We had no issues getting our SUV over the dip in the driveway. Only issues we had were very low water pressure in master shower and house is on a very busy street with road noise. House could use a deep cleaning. We asked owner for early check in when we first booked. We were told to ask again the day we checked in. We did. Owner said they would let us know when cleaners left. We walked around and waited for his email, but never heard so we just went to the property at 4 pm after check in. Not a big deal, but wish there was better communication from host.

Location

The location of this place was awesome. It was walking distance to Carmel Village. We hung out in the backyard with our two dogs. The only complaint would be how busy the street is. There was a large hole at the driveway and I have a 250 Ford pickup. My friends had a small Toyota. We bottomed out with our bikes on the back. The internet went down because the next door neighbor shut it off.

Lovely space, bedrooms are good sized with very comfortable bedding. Kitchen and living areas are comfortable and easy to use. The backyard is beautiful, with a nice propane BBQ, and having the hot tub was a nice bonus. It is a pet friendly home and I always appreciate high quality properties with fenced yards and the dog was very comfortable here, as were we. I'd definitely come back.For older guests or those with difficulty walking up/down hills, please know this is not walkable to downtown. It is convenient and a short drive but the walkway going downtown is extremely uneven and steep in segments to downtown Carmel. No issue for me, but not doable for my parents (80s).We found it best to back into the driveway because backing onto Ocean is tricky as it is a main thoroughfare. Major construction on the street started our second day there, which was very noisy, but the workers were wonderfully polite and helped block traffic when we came in and out of the driveway. They also worked reasonable hours, so aside from a slightly deeper ditch going into the driveway, it wasn't a problem. However, sleeping in in the front bedrooms would not be an option. If you're staying here in the next month or two, hopefully the property owners will have information to share in advance so you can plan, as we were not notified.The day we arrived we had one question and the hosts got back to us right away, which is always a good sign. Overall, I highly recommend this house

Not All As Expected

We were disappointed in many aspects of this property. There is a great deal of noise from the main street location which continues long into the night. The rooms are much smaller than we anticipated to accomodate 6 people...not even enough furniture in the living room for 6 people to sit. Typical items one would expect just weren't provided - for example, there were no floor mats/rugs in the bathrooms getting out off the shower. The kitchen was not very well appointed - plastic plates, mismatched glasses and silverware, old pots and pans. The stove was filthy and the bbq was as well and was rusted and burned out in spots making it completely useless. We have rented in two other homes in Carmel and had fantastic experiences. This was our first real disappointment.

Hi Jill, Thx you for your insightful feedback. I will make sure to provide bathroom rugs, clean the grill and update the cooking pans/pots. Please allow me to make this right and offer a 300 discount if you would stay with us in the future. Regarding the size of the rooms, they are standard rooms, each with a queen bed.

When we arrived at the property, the house was a mess. We had to contact the management in order for them to send a cleaning crew to the house, and then wait outside on the street for 2.5 hours while they turned the house around. The cleaning fee was NOT waived and the owner refused to give any sort of discount on the back of this.

This home is in a great location. It is just a short walk to the down town Carmel shops, restaurants and the beach. We enjoined walking around to see all the fairy tale cottages nearby. It was a clean, well stocked, comfortable rental property.
