This 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom property is ideally located if you are wanting a relaxing family getaway. This is the ideal location for enjoying everything Port Fairy has to offer, with a short walk to the very popular South Beach and just 15 mins walk to the centre of town. Offering a comfortable layout with open kitchen/living and dining area. This property has electric heating and a wood fire (wood is provided) for a warm and cosy stay. The 2 single bedrooms each offer a single bed, as well as an additional roll-away single in each. This property offers both front and back garden areas and decking with some outdoor seating, and ample space for kids and small pets to run around and play. A bonus feature is the separate rumpus area for kids to enjoy DVDs, music, and a variety of board games. There are also bikes to borrow for even more reason to explore!

Perfect size for a couple and small children Located close to Pea soup beach Generous supply of firewood which kept us very warm Only setback was trying to unlock the key safe on departure apologies for leaving the keys inside

Great place to stay

Nice house in good location with great amenities and lots of nice touches. Very clean and cosy - and the beds were super comfortable! Would be great to have a coffee table or side table in living area but we were able to bring in small outside table so not a huge problem. Nice secure back yard for the dog.

Recharge and relax with fruends

The cottage was nice . Fire was cozy and warm. Bathroom could do with an update. The fans need a clean. Beds were good but an electric blanket would have been nice.

port fairy

cute little cottage with wood fire & great secure yard for pets. not far from beaches & town. However,the bathroom was not cleaned before we arrived ( used soap, shampoo & flannels in the shower & toilet not cleaned. the antenna cable needs fixing. no WIFI & limited mobile service.

Port Fairy accommodation

Very disappointing, don't let that picture fool you. The front garden has no such furniture, just a very old, dirty couch which we never used. The back outdoor chairs were woeful too. Inside was clean but couch was only a two seater and then two additional chairs. It was a quiet location but you really needed to drive into town or be fit enough to walk the 15mins or so to the shops. It was chosen because it was dog friendly and that suited us, but just because a place allows a dog doesn't mean it shouldn't be nice too. We had a dishwasher and washing machine, the latter in the garage which is therefore a walk in the rain or cold if you are staying in winter. Only left one little pack of dishwashing powder and a small amount of dishwashing liquid for the week. We also ran out of toilet paper and had to go buy some more. No coffee maker of any description either. If the place was listed as cheaper then it could be a sale, but we paid a lot of the 8 days of stay, and it was certainly not value for money. Also I forgot, water pressure in taps and shower were really bad, sometimes just a dribble, sometimes really hot all of a sudden. You have to be careful if you are taking kids or the elderly. Wouldn't stay there again. Sorry.

Thank you for your review Nancy. We are disappointed to hear of your concerns as other reviews of Willan typically range from Very Good to Excellent. We checked all issues raised on your departure, and are happy to clarify a few points. We feel your comments that the house is not as it appears in the photo on our website are unjust, to clear up any confusion the chairs on the deck are now inside the house, and can be taken outside if a guest wishes. We are sorry if you felt this was misleading. The couch on the deck is an all-weather couch, and the owner is in the process of replacing the couch cover that is looking tired and worn. Guests often remark how peaceful the location is, but yet still close to town. We are sorry that you were disappointed with the supplies provided, we always provide guests with a starter pack per stay which the guest can then purchase or bring extra. There are also two coffee makers in the kitchen cupboards - sorry you missed these, we will leave one on the bench for ease. In regard to the water pressure, we have discussed this comment with the owner who informed us the standard water pump has a slight pulse as it clicks on and off, which is sometimes noticeable in the shower. We thank you for taking the time to write feedback, we are sorry if you felt disappointed this time but hope next time we can assist you with finding a property more suitable for your group.

Clean, simple & cosy

The fireplace was toasty, everything we needed (except warmer blanket for bed). Some gardening needs doing & there is no ping pong table as promised. Minor faults here & there, but we’d certainly stay again.
