Courtyard Home Downtown // Reno + Close to it all in Chestnut Hill

A fully furnished, rustic modern home boasting 2 full bedrooms with queen beds, 1 bath accommodating 4 guests.

Ideally located in the heart of Chestnut Hill on West Walnut, close to it all. A historic home completely renovated by 2 designers with the goal of providing a unique guest experience. The home is centrally located and a short walk to everything from F&M college, central market, coffee shops, restaurants, shops, galleries and bars.

Private chef available for breakfast, lunch & dinner as well as pre-arrival shopping, decorating, floral, massage, hair & make-up and other concierge services.

The space
The Slaymaker Lock House is a recently restored and renovated historic home with no attention to detail missed. Our goal was to create a space where guests can create their own experiences and memories -- hopefully inspiring them to come back again and again.

This listing is for the back unit complete with 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, bathroom and courtyard. The house has 2 units in it so if additional space is needed inquire about booking the front unit with 4 additional bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living room or the full house listing that can sleep 12 guests.

Home Features //
The 2 bedrooms have queen beds, 1800 thread count sheets and comforter and new cool gel memory foam mattresses with multiple pillows. Each closet has hangers and dressers in each room.

The full bath has a tub, marble top vanity and slate flooring. Plenty of towels are supplied for all guests.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, plates, glasses, wine glasses, cooking dishes and more.

There is a dining area off the kitchen or you may also choose to dine or enjoy morning coffee in the back courtyard.

Technology has been incorporated throughout the house with Sonos speakers throughout that you can control from the houses iPad. A TV is perfect to relax and enjoy your favorite movie or shows in the living room with guest access to Netflix and Hulu.

The basement has a full size washer and dryer and an ironing board and iron.

Restoration Process //
We took great attention to detail in bringing back the original character and charm of the home through refinishing the original hardwood floor and trim details. The home is a mix of restored elements, contemporary finishes, found objects and family collections that we just love. Enjoy the high ceilings throughout and perfectly curated areas to relax, recharge and enjoy!

We encourage you to explore the amazing city of Lancaster and enjoy the unique cafes, restaurants, shops, farmland and culture that makes it so special.

Wonderful relaxing stay!

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. This unique house was the perfect spot for a friend and I to enjoy the city for a couple of nights. It is in a great location in short walking distance to many great restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again!

Aspectos positivos: Llegada, comunicación y ubicación

Could be great: Needs to be better equipped and cleaned

Owner and location great--owner very accessible and helpful. Location in historical area wonderful, walkable. Could be so much more though. Overall: No wifi info (when we got it, it did work great), no trash disposal info or outdoor trash receptacle, no info that there were cameras plugged in top and bottom floors. TV was private subscriptions only. No infor on local attractions or distances--even brochures would help Kitchen: No utensils of any kind, no silverware, only two sets of plastic in otherwise empty drawers. Old rotten sponge. Kitchen sink old and chipped and dirty. No garbage disposal. Moldy coffee filter in pot. Floor dirty. New stove, oven and microwave. Bathroom: One old piece of used soap, tub dirty--not moldy but I wouldn't want to sit in it for a bath. Two towels for two people over three days, one hand towel. Sink faucets had missing or loose labels--none for hot loose for cold. Toilet seat very loose and slid around. Floor dirty. Molding poorly painted. Courtyard: Could be great, but...outdoor table old and questionable stability as fourth chair was broken apart and laying against the house. Pile of loose unused mulch next to the gate. My wife did not like the cameras or blinking blue lights on the AC unit--she thought it was suspicious.

You will feel right at home the moment you walk through the front door. The house has been beautifully remodeled from top to bottom while maintaining its charm and details. There are vignettes and curious objects throughout to explore and enjoy.
