Nestled in the bush around a 300m walk to the beach, Grassy Head Schoolhouse is a secluded retreat by the sea. Originally built in 1893 as the Eungai Creek schoolhouse, this home has character and a relaxed charm.

Our stay at the Schoolhouse was fabulous! The property is well-maintained and the location is lovely with only a 6 min walk to the beach. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very helpful. We were looking for an alternative to Scotts Head this trip and Grassy Head was the perfect option. the Schoolhouse is right next to the road so there's a bit of vehicle noise but apart from that, we highly recommend this property for a restful and rejuvenating stay.

Awesome place to stay the school house was amazing everything was supplied down to the tiniest detail of a teapot for loose tea leaves to sit and have breakfast amongst Mother Nature So relaxing Jimmi has put a lot of thought into the accomodation and what guests would need to relax and the outside kitchen a bonus for families we are going backThank you so much just what we needed with no noise just Mother Nature glorious

The Schoolhouse is set up beautifully in a most wonderful location. Great access to the beach and a short drive to other beaches and things to explore. We really enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the rainforest setting. Highly recommend!

The School House

We had a lovely stay at the school house. Good property, very clean, but was a bit hard to access the driveway with a boat trailer. Overall we loved it, very welcoming.

A stunning break away from it all

Wow! What a place! It was characterful, clean, cozy and so comfy! So many nooks and crannies to relax and soak up the peace and quiet under the swaying trees. Everything was so well thought out and the outdoor rain shower was a huge hit. The host was so informative, attentive and helpful. Such a beautiful part of NSW with so much to see and do. We absolutely loved our stay and didn't want to leave. Highly recommend.

Perfect, quiet paradise and access to the beach

Beautiful setup and peaceful surroundings. Everything that you need for a relaxing stay. We were doing a screen time detox for the whole family so it really was paradise for connecting with each other again, reading on the hammock and hanging out in the tropical surrounds with the birds. Just perfect.

Peace & tranquility

Cosy & comfortable little cottage with beautiful tranquil surroundings. All the little extras included made our stay very comfortable. The wood fire was a lovely feature that kept the cottage nice & warm on the cooler nights. It was great that the beach was only a 300 metre walk away. Great holiday spot if you’re after peace & quiet surrounded by nature.

Perfect place for our young adult family to reconnect and enjoy the beach and environment at Grassy. The outdoor shower and bbq area function really well, loved our stay and hpw to be back.

Hidden gem

Absolutely fantastic property, tucked away in natural bush privacy with every homely luxury you could imagine. Indoor and outdoor living for every possible weather scenario. Could not ask for anything more, some of the best sleep ever in the most comfortable beds ever!

A dream house

What a house!!! Love the entertainment quarter and the outdoor shower with hot water (what a treat after a morning down at the beach). The house is lovely decorated and well stocked. Lots to explore around. James was really helpful and proactive. Will definitively come back 😊

Excellent, relaxing beautiful accomadation

The property was absolutely lovely, clean, great amenities. The new outdoor area was amazing we had all our meals out there, it was ideal. The kids enjoyed the space and being in walking distance of the beach. We would definitely stay again.

Private and relaxing

Wonderful stay at the school house. Beautiful surrounding bushland in a private setting. The house was clean and comfortable. The beds were good. The owners had completed renovations with freshly sanded floors and a new outdoor deck, BBQ, toilet & fantastic outdoor shower. A few minutes drive to Stuarts Point to go fishing, a 5 minute walk to Grassy Head beach and a 8 min drive to Scotts Head. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Delightfully quaint

Our stay at the schoolhouse was dampened by wet weather but we still had a wonderful experience. The rooms were all unique & the outlook from the covered verandah was lush & tranquil. The family loved the local kookaburras who graced us with their presence every morning and afternoon.
