Family holiday fun and relaxation at Pohara

Two spacious fully furnished houses all under one roof in central Pohara, lending itself to the perfect holiday escape for two families or a group to gather and enjoy the sunshine. 2 min walk to the beach, superette, cafes, children's playground and other amenities. Pohara boasts a safe swimming beach, tennis courts, cafes and more. A short drive to the local 9 hole golf course and ample walks within the Golden Bay area. A 10 min drive to the town of Takaka, where you have access to supermarkets, many shops and eateries

Front House:
Warm and sunny two-bedroom, one bathroom home. Bedroom one features a queen bed and bedroom two, two singles. The recently renovated bathroom provides a shower, toilet and vanity.

Open plan fully equipped kitchen and living area with an additional spacious sun porch featuring two single beds. This area is adorned with books, games, puzzles and ample room for children to play. Our sun-soaked living areas make this home a warm and inviting place to share with friends and family. Additional heating option available is a gas heater.


Back House:
Spacious three bedroom house with a large living/dining area opening up into a fully equipped kitchen. Featuring a compact freshly painted bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. The effective new wood burner creates a cozy environment on cooler days.

There is a shared laundry with a washing machine, tub and ironing facilities.

Each house has a TV with freeview in the living room and Wi-Fi is available for use.

There is 1 highchair, 1 port-a-cot and a stroller available.

Towels, sheets and pillowcases are not provided. Otherwise, all bedding is provided along with tea towels and hand towels.

Outdoors:
Safe fenced property with off street parking for three cars. There is a BBQ and two additional outdoor areas with sun cover and seating for relaxation and entertainment.
We welcome your pet dog to share your holiday, you will find a metal dog cage at the property where you can contain your pet for sleeping or if you wish to be out and about, you will just need to bring their bedding.
Within the locked garage you will find kayaks paddle board, bikes, games, tennis rackets, golf carts, sun loungers for your use during your stay.

We had a great time at “The Bach”, what a spot! Location was awesome, a real kiwi bach. Had everything we needed - lots of cutlery, platters & salad bowls for all the BBQs we had. Comfy beds, and the place was clean & tidy. Would love to stay again sometime - thanks guys!

Perfect for groups

Great location and awesome amenities for family groups if booking both units. Rachael was great with comms throughout too! Would definitely recommend!

Extended family getaway

We had 12 people (3 generations) of family staying together so the property was ideal for that with the two separate houses joined by the carport and veranda. Beach access was easy through the holiday park and great facilities for cooking, washing, socialising etc.

Amazing getaway

This property is just perfect. Great location to beach. We booked both houses with our family of 10. This was by far the best set out we have had on our holidays around the country.

Well equipped property in a great location

This is a lovely clean and tidy pair of baches. The owners have supplied lots of equipment to use at the beach and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Pohara comfort

We had a great stay at the Pōhara accommodation. We were 2 families with children aged 8-14 and everyone was very happy with the space. Very tidy, comfortable and great location.

Family Friendly

A perfect spot for our three families to spend Christmas. With two three bedroom houses the young adults went into one and the oldies into the other. Very well quipped kitchens meant Christmas catering was a breeze. Some great beach toys in the garage. Lovely beaches nearby. All in all a fantastic property.

Beautiful Golden Bay. A true Kiwi holiday, so close to the beach were we had our paddle boards and swam. Everything we needed in our house were we could spread out with our grown up children and grand children. So much easier than tents :) Thank you for our first family Christmas away from home.

Brilliant set up for 2 families

Excellent location, clean, tidy and well set up. Well equipped kitchen, we appreciated the extras like bikes - the house was even nicer than the photos too.

Family bliss

We so enjoyed our stay at Pohara. The 2 units meant that the families could have space from each other when needed, but the lounge room, dining and outdoor tables in unit #2 were large enough to seat all 11 of us for together time. We had teething issue with a water pump and the owner was extremely responsive and communicated action promptly. The beach is beautiful. We enjoyed daily swimming and the short walk to the shop for real fruit ice-creams. Overall a lovely relaxing stay. Thank you

This is a family owned property that we now as an extended family love and would love to share with others.

Golden Bay is a magical place to visit and stay at, the region boasts beautiful safe beaches, sunshine and warmth, numerous walks/bike rides and ample activities should you not wish to be just relaxing and rejuvenating the soul.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

This property has the advantage of 2 baches that are separate but attached thus giving a larger group the opportunity to be together yet with space. Having two kitchens, two living areas, two outdoor entertaining areas and two bathrooms takes any pressure off a group gathered.
It is extremely close to the beach (2 minute walk) and all cafes, bars, shop, playground to name but a few!
