Just a short stroll to the waterfront and opposite the Sunday Farmers Market, The Retreat at Saddlers House offers a city-centre haven that embodies its industrial roots with exposed brick, natural textiles, subdued artwork, and black metals. A cosy, undercover balcony offers space to relax in the sun, open plan living is air-conditioned for year-round comfort, while two bathrooms, free parking, and lift access add to your convenience. Saddlers House began its life as a purveyor of leather goods in the late 1800s, specialising in shoemaking. It has just undergone a creative restoration and houses four high-end apartments right in the city centre amongst the buzz of cafes, restaurants and specialty shops.
The apartment retains many original features, including polished floorboards and brick-clad walls, which add to the ambience of the apartment in a vibrant part of town. Kick back on the sofa or armchair in front of the smart TV, cook up meals in the gourmet kitchen and dine in style at the four-seater table. A balcony offers seating for two so you can soak up the area’s industrial vibe.
Two bedrooms sleep four guests. The primary is set with a queen bed. Sleek built-in cabinetry offers ample space to store your belongings, and an attached monochrome ensuite makes it easy to freshen up. The second bedroom offers flexibility with two single beds that can be made into a king upon request. The main bathroom is a sanctuary for unwinding, offering heated floors and a deep freestanding bath.
Additional amenities include in-unit laundry with a washer and dryer, free onsite parking, and fast WiFi to keep you connected. During your stay, you and your group will have the entire apartment to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!
You're right in the heart of the city, yet the apartments are such a peaceful haven. In this part of the city you'll enjoy the many dining and shopping options, with a great selection of local restaurants and eateries right on your doorstep. The popular Criterion Street cafes are just a stones through away, offering the best coffee and breakfast in town, with outdoor tables and a friendly, relaxed feel. If you love your Tassie produce, the farmers market on Sundays is a must do, and is located on Bathurst Street just a minute from the apartments. If you're after some great Tassie wine, then go and see Tim at Cool Wine just across the road.
If you like to explore on foot, It's just an easy stroll to the wharf precinct, Botanic Gardens, Aquatic and Tennis Centre and Brooke Street Pier (MONA ferry).

Absolute comfort in the heart of the CBD.
Everything you need in an extremely comfortable apartment right on the edge of the Elizabeth St Mall. Very quiet, lovely balcony to sit and read, coffee, food, groceries and retail at the doorstep.

Loved the property, beautifully appointed details in every room. We were a large family group so 3 apartments close suited perfectly. Only issue was parking as we were in and out during the day and car park was often full. Easy walking around town and waterfront.

Was not easy to find at 10pm, there is no signage only a glass sliding door between two restaurants. Wasnt advised of No parking and parking in the area was expensive, I would not have stayed if I was made aware of no parking.
Shower needs sealing as it leaks around behind toilet. Spotlight shines directly into bedroom at night making it super bright even with blinds shut. Had to call to get access info as it wasnt emailed to us prior to stay. Lounge was absolutely disgusting and stained, we had to cover it to sit. It is close to all the city sights but I would probably not stay there again.

A great place to stay
The apartment was outstanding in every way! It was incredibly well appointed and in a fantastic location for us. No parking is provided but this wasn't a problem because there is the Vodaphone multi story parking facility basically out the back door of the apartment and overnight parking is pretty inexpensive. We'd stay here again without hesitation!!

Hobart stay
The apartment was beautiful inside and had all the latest appliances. The location was great as long as you take into consideration parking if hiring a car. You can park between 6pm and 8am for free but during the day it is costly on the street. There are nearby carparks like the Woolworths one or Vodaphone that is worth using. Ok if you are out most of the day like we were. The beds were extremely comfortable.
More information about how to use the appliances would of been good and knowing that the extra bathroom only had a bath not a shower would have helped but otherwise it was great and comfortable. the view in the pictures is deceiving as it is just a wall with graffetti that you look out onto but this was a small negative and quite funny in the end.

Thanks for your review Lawrence, we're pleased you enjoyed the apartment. We don't offer parking, in fact we smention nearby parking stations as there is no parking at the property. Parking is available on the street (free) overnight.
