The Beachhouse- absolute beachfront!

Kate & Nick worked in the airline industry in Hong Kong until recently. Now retuned to NZ and with a new home for Australian, Nick, along with our 4 teenage children, we're excited to explore NZ with it's incredible array of activities and places to visit on offer. We love the beach lifestyle, fishing from the beach, collecting tuatuas or lazy evenings with drinks and nibbles, friends and family joining us. We love meeting new people who have come to do the same and love the idea that we can provide you with a place to relax and enjoy friends & family with the backdrop of our beautiful beaches.
We also holiday let another 2 adjacent properties- ideal if you want to invite another family or friends to join you on your vacation but you need more room. Just enquire.

One of the few rental holiday houses you'll find that is situated right on the beach. Impossible to be any closer! Quiet eastern end of Papamoa Beach with good swimming, surfing, fishing and tuatua shellfish gathering. There is no need to cross busy Papamoa Beach Rd. There is a vast expanse of beach reaching all the way to Mt Maunganui in one direction which makes for great extended walks on this very long beach or lovely strolls any time of day or if you prefer more privacy turn right towards Pukehina where the houses become more sparse until there are none.
The beach is ideal for beach cricket or volleyball, sandcastle making or just digging a hole or your own paddle pool. The surf makes it a popular area for surfers and boogie boarders too.
200m to quad bike beach access for great surf-casting and fishing opportunities.
We also love that it is close to a lovely set of quality shops so we never need to go further afield if we don't want to.
Nearby, down Parton Rd is a skate park which is a spot our teens like to go to.

The Excelsa is a newish complex situated at the other end of Karewa Pde, on the corner of Golden Sands Drive and Papamoa Beach Road by the roundabout, with just about everything you need for your holiday! It's about a 10-15 min walk- which you can do via the beach. There you will find a popular coffee shop (Henry and Ted), a wonderful bakery (Rise), Four Square, Burn Fitness Studio, Papamoa Pines Medical centre and a Unichem pharmacy. If you've been neglecting yourself until you're on holidays, there is an excellent hairdresser and barber at Refinery Studios, and a Hollywood Nails.
One of our favourite things to do is catch the latest block buster at the family run movie theatre Tivoli Cinemas, where you can enjoy your movie with a glass of wine or craft beer.
Restaurants include the highly rated Great Spice Indian Restaurant, Papa Mo's has a menu for everyone in your group and Grill & Green has eat in or takeaway with popular dishes and a Hello Sushi.
Further along Papamoa Beach rd there are more shops with fish and chip type takeaways and a bottleshop.
Off Domain Rd there is plenty of shopping to be found at Fashion Island & the Plaza Shopping Centre including Pac’n Save, Countdown, The Warehouse, Mitre 10, a Bendon and Bonds outlet shop and many other shops.
Thursday Dinner in the Domain is one of our favourite things to do over summer. It’s Thursday evening and has an artisan food market/ food truck held at the Papamoa Pony Club, 491 Papamoa Beach Rd. Take a picnic blanket or nab a table. Includes live music or DJ.
Another must do activity is the walk up or around Mt Maunganui. Drive to the Mount (about 20 mins) and find a park as close as you can to Mt Maunganui, ‘Mauao’. Walk around the base or climb to the top, both are extraordinarily beautiful walks. Finish with an icecream from Copenhagen Cones and a wander through some of the beautiful boutiques and shops downtown the mount. Some fabulous cafes and restaurants to also enjoy.
