Wonderful family beach getaway

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Surf’s Up. My interactions with Village Realty were professional and provided excellent customer service. The home was clean, organized, provided unbelievable amenities and we would highly recommend other families or large groups to stay.

It was just my husband, myself, our teenage daughter and our 2 dogs enjoying a peaceful fall break overlooking the ocean. Large home with plenty of space and a fenced backyard for the dogs. We stayed in at the house a lot just hanging out as a family playing ping pong, watching movies, sitting on the deck with the dogs, and enjoying some good food. Well stocked kitchen, they even had an air fryer. The view of the ocean from the front top deck was our favorite part of this trip.

Overall the house was a good place to stay.

Overall the house was a good place to stay. However it could really use some good maintenance (i.e. there is painters tape holding the kitchen counter together) and a deep clean (carpet feels a little dirty, porches were covered in webs and bugs, etc). Other than that the house was fine. Great location with great views of the ocean, close to restaurants, away from noise, and plenty of room in the house.

Incredibly Surprised

I genuinely wasn’t expecting to be blown away by this property. Other places we’ve stayed in the area felt half-cleaned and not well kept. I was surprised when I could smell how clean the house was. Everything was so easily accessible and the neighborhood was even quieter than I thought it would be, being so close to the water. Will definitely stay here again!

Great Location with Plenty of Room

Large 4 bedroom home steps from the beach with great unobstructed views of the ocean. Clean and well maintained for the most part. Kitchen well stocked with glassware, plates, bowls flatware, small appliances etc. spacious living room and game room (lower level). Fenced in yard for pets, kids. Some items to consider, yard was not well maintained with many "Sand Burrs" ok for adults but bad for pets and kids, it was unusable for our dogs. The propane grill was unusable and completely covered in grease/soot. Overall a good place to stay but somewhat dated and tired which is fine if you are just there for the beach :)

The house was beautiful and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and the proximity to the beach. My husband and I especially enjoyed the view of the ocean from the third floor porch. Our only problems were that whoever stayed in the house before we did, didn't clean the yard up after their dog(s). It was pretty bad, but the heavy rain helped. We could never get the internet or TV to work for more than an hour at a time. We started two movies and it froze about a half-hour in. Also, the refrigerator stopped cooling.The young man who came out to fix the internet was very nice and professional. He also fixed a loose step on the stairs going up to the second floor.We hope to stay with you again!Jackie Massie

You can't beat the view!

Having the ocean as your next door neighbor is absolutely the way to wake up. We loved this place and watching the ocean from the top floor of the house made our trip. We went in winter and there were still some nice days to enjoy both the beach and easy access to the dunes - much better when it's a nice cool day. This house was easy to get to and comfortable for the family.

Had a wonderful stay here! Very nice hot tub, beautiful views from the balcony, very quick walk to beach, central location in Kitty Hawk that made it nice for day trips. Tons of outside toys, games, movies, ping pong. Honestly have zero complaints about this place!

MLK Weekend 22

We enjoyed our stay at Surf’s Up. The booking and check in/out process was simple and the property manager was responsive to our concerns. The house is well-appointed and all beds are comfortable. The house is clean, though showing some signs of age/use (dining room chairs stained, veneer missing from kitchen counter). Everything is operable, and the hot tub works very well. The house is also very water tight - we had almost two inches of rain and gale force winds overnight on our last night and didn’t wake to any issues. Other than some cosmetic touch-ups, it might help to have supplies on hand to pick up after pets in the back yard to encourage guests to do so - we came with our own and did clean, but it was evident other renters had not even though there are signs posted to do so. Overall, an enjoyable stay at Surf’s Up, and Village Realty was a great property manager.
