Cozy & Quiet Space in the Heart of East Vancouver

We are centrally located in the heart of East Vancouver in the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood. A short stroll to Commercial Drive - 'old world' Italian cafes, boutiques, restaurants, craft breweries and the East Village - a burgeoning, hip scene with great bars, restaurants and shopping.

More about the space:

The unit has been completely renovated with radiant in-floor heat in the bathroom and new Scandinavian-inspired furniture and flooring. Cozy and warm in winter and cool and light in summer!

Located on a quiet, tree-lined neighbourhood in the heart of East Vancouver, our unit is a warm and inviting retreat perfect for a single traveller or a couple.

Private entrance and private outdoor sitting area. Please note: guests do have to walk down a few steps to access the door to the suite.

This is a basement unit. Ceiling height: 6'4".

This 1-bedroom space features a firm queen bed with a Bloom mattress topper and plenty of pillows for a restful night’s sleep.

The bedroom also has a large walk-in closet offering plenty of storage space for luggage, coats etc.

The kitchen is fully equipped with essential cookware, utensils and dinnerware; everything you'll need to prepare all your meals. The dining area has a small dining table that seats two, perfect for enjoying meals or working on your laptop.

The bathroom is clean and modern with radiant in-floor heat and a full bathtub with shower. Fresh towels, and essential toiletries are also provided.

Laundry: Access to the washing machine and dryer in the main house may be arranged upon request.

Please note that my husband and I live upstairs so normal, day-to-day sound transfer can be expected.

This place exceeded my expectations. The owner was so thoughtful! Reusable bags, umbrellas, books on things to do, typed out suggestions in a binder for things to do and places to see… The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in, in a long time. Parking is easy, great location, and it’s SO ADORABLE.

Very Satisfied Guest

From the moment we opened the entry door to the unit until the time we departed, the entire stay wad comfortable and exactly as advertized. Sylvia and Boyd not only made us feel welcome by providing a living space that was spotless, they recognized our 25th wedding anniversary with a table centerpiece and bottle of wine. Should our travels take us to Vancouver in the future we will stay at that address again. Wonderful location in order to visit many different parts of the city.

Great location

This basement suite was in a nice quiet neighborhood of East Vancouver. It is well equipped and very clean. We’ve stayed at several VRBO properties and this by far was the best equipped and cleanest property we’ve stayed at. We love to walk so we walked everyday to the vibrant Commercial Dr. where you will find countless restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. The hosts live upstairs and are very quick in responding to messages. If you are big into watching TV it is very small. It wasn’t an issue for us. Laundry is only available for a cost of $10 but there are a couple of laundry mats on Commercial Dr. Highly recommend staying at this property.

Everything was fine..Place was clean and owners were nice people...A little small quarters , but had most everything required to cook and eat meals...Close to most tourist attractions...Central location!

Perfect little get away

This one bedroom get away is tucked away in a great little neighborhood. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood at night and checking out the variety of houses The size was just right for us. If one of your party is an especially tall person (over 6’2) then it might feel cramped with the lower ceilings but it was great us (husband is 5’11) Other than that, the place is well outfitted, the bed was comfortable, and the owners are super nice. The dog was not a big deal. Pup barked once but not for long at all. The location made it easy to get to the north side of Vancouver or to town. Overall it was a great fit for us.

Wonderful weekend!

This property is very well located ,, just outside of Downtown Vancouver. The suite was cozy for two people. I went with my daughter for her birthday and this being our first time in the west coast, the rental made it worth the visit. The host provides perfect detail in instructions and an accurate description of the home. Definitely recommend. Thank you again for having us

Vancouver stay

The location and apartment itself was very good. However, two things were unknown prior to our visit. First, and most irritating, was a yappy dog next door. The houses are two sidewalks apart with the apartment having a back-of-the-house entrance via a fence gate into the background. The dog was frequently in the neighbor's fenced backyard and had a very good ear. We are not dog people. Had I known about the dog, I would have selected another property. Second, is that the owner neglected to inform us about outside house work that was performed the day after we arrived. She provided an email update that was delivered while we were in transit and then followed up by coming to the door the next morning. We were experiencing jet lag and were not expecting anyone at the door. Neither one of us was in the mood for conversation. The email would have been adequate notice.

Very clean, very cute, not always very quiet

We stayed for ten days between returning from vacation and moving back into our condo. There is a private entrance with keypad. The place is cozy and comfortable. Kitchen is well-equipped with most everything you would need for a short stay. The bed is comfortable and there is a large storage area for clothes. Soft sheets and towels. Even a bathtub! Unfortunately the neighbours' dog barked intermittently throughout our stay. Sometimes this could go on for over an hour. There is a private area to sit outside on sunny days, but if the dog is barking, it wouldn't be very pleasant. It is a basement suite and the owners live upstairs and are quiet. However, it is an older house so you will hear them, but not uncomfortably so. For us, although the neighbourhood is very beautiful, it was a bit far from downtown. The bus takes about thirty minutes with a walk to the stop of about five minutes. It is too far to walk into the city; however, there is a grocery store only minutes away. Restaurants would be about a twenty minute walk. If you have a car, it's safe to park your car, and then the location is fine. They do have laundry facilities but there is a cost of $10 per load. About a twenty minute walk, there is a laundry mat that can be used and we chose to do that. Overall, the neighbourhood is lovely, the suite well-designed, very clean and comfortable. However, the barking dog affected our stay and, personally, it was a bit far from downtown Vancouver.

I have lived in Vancouver my entire life and my husband is originally from Victoria, BC but has spent the majority of his adult life in Vancouver. He is a music educator and Taiko drummer and I work as a Voice Artist and Director. As an avid mountain biker, my husband can tell you exactly where to hike and bike if you're an outdoor enthusiast. I love cooking and eating great food and drinking delicious wines and can offer recommendations on local eateries.

We can be hands-on or hands-off depending on your needs. We live upstairs and do our best to keep noise levels to a minimum but some day-to-day sound transfer can be expected. We are centrally located, close to Commercial Drive and the Hastings Sunrise area but on a quiet street where you can enjoy a good nights rest before heading out the next day to enjoy the surrounding area, downtown Vancouver or the North Shore mountains. The space is immaculately kept and cleaned and super cozy in Winter and lovely and cool in Summer.

Clinton Park across the street, free street parking, Wi-fi, NETFLIX, shared laundry (upon request and for a fee), 15 minute walk to local craft breweries, 20 minute drive to the North Shore mountains, 1.5 hour drive to Whistler mountain and village. Affordable, clean and comfortable accommodation in the heart of East Vancouver.
