Luxury historic cottage

THE SCHOOLHOUSE WOODEND
Built in the late 1880’s as a state school for the children of the local community, the 150-year-old Woodend Schoolhouse has since been converted into luxury boutique accommodation for two persons.
Sorry no pets.
Retaining many Victorian features of the era, the Schoolhouse Woodend has high vaulted ceilings and an open wood fire which adds to the historic ambiance.
A perfect couples retreat set 3 minutes from the Woodend township right in the heart of The Macedon Ranges. 10 minutes to Hanging Rock and Kyneton.
VERY LARGE ROOMS THROUGHOUT.
Features separate bedroom with queen bed. Side tables and lamps, electric blankets, doona, spare blankets and pillows.
Large separate dressing room with dressing table and modern ensuite bathroom.
Spacious lounge/dining room with big comfy couches, lamps, coffee table, television, and 4 seater dining table. Open fireplace.
Modern kitchenette with double sink. Good size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and toaster , electric frypan , sandwich maker, egg poacher. ( everything you need to prepare a meal in house)plus an excellent selection of glassware, cutlery and plates and bowls. note: no built in cooktop or oven.
Also supplied are toasted sandwich maker, chopping boards, sharp knives.
Milk, sugar, salt, pepper, coffee, plunger coffee, coffee pods, hot chocolate and biscuits supplied.
Outdoor BBQ may be provided on request.
The Schoolhouse has extremely effective gas heating but if you prefer an open fire please note you need to BYO firewood and kindling. We supply enough for first night only. Please note that the long Easter Weekend is a minium three night stay.
ONE NIGHT STAYS ARE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.
NOTE: AN ADDITIONAL $80 WILL APPLY FOR ONE NIGHT STAYS AND INCLUDES CONTINENTAL BASKET.

The schoolhouse is charming and very spacious. Suzanne has equipped the property with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect for exploring the area. Super quiet and relaxing. A gorgeous garden to use. The weather was freezing when we were there so the open fire was put to great use. There are many small touches, jigsaw puzzles, well selected books and dvds, snacks and fresh flowers that showed Suzanne had anticipated what her guests might like.

What a wonderful weekend.

This little cottage is peaceful and cosy. The building has beautiful character and there is plenty of space. Just gorgeous. Kitchen doesn't lend itself to much cooking, but there are lots of great options in the area. Suzanne is also a wonderful host.

A little piece of paradise!

The Schoolhouse was everything I’d hoped for and more! Spotlessly clean, quiet, old world charm with modern conveniences. Lots of thoughtful extras - chocolates, biscuits, fruit and lovely breakfast supplies - even marshmallows for the hot chocolate! Assorted books and DVD’s were supplied to keep us occupied. Nothing was forgotten. Surrounding gardens were beautiful too. I would highly recommend this little gem for a peaceful getaway!

Old Schoolhouse Charm

Lovely stay at this Historic Old Schoolhouse. Most comfortable bed, wonderful fireplace..all set up on arrival..Our host Suzanne was so lovely. Brought us a breakfast basket with everything imaginable..bottle of sparkly was nice touch also. Stayed 4 nights..very quiet set in lovely 2 acres of garden few mins from Woodend town and 10 mins from Macedon. Enjoyed very much. Lily & Con.

Woodend Retreat

We had a lovely time at the gorgeous, old schoolhouse. The character and history of this building was very interesting and the fact we could light a fire in the evenings was great. Also, the many heaters and electric blankets provided seriously helped with a very cold Woodend weekend.

Comfy, Cosy and Charming

The schoolhouse is perfect for a getaway - not a long way from the city but far away enough to escape the hustle and bustle. The accommodation is surprisingly generous in size and has everything you need to unwind and relax in comfort. The owner is very helpful and responsive to messages.
