Magnolia House | Hot Tub | Beautiful Location

Built in 1923 by Edward Stein, the Magnolia House was consistently voted one of the top B&Bs in Fredericksburg since 1991. It has been converted from a B&B and is now a premier vacation rental in which you can rent the entire five bedroom house for a gathering with friends and family or as spacious suites with separate sitting areas, fireplaces and private entrances. The home features the Lilli Marleen & American Beauty suites, which include 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, and the Magnolia and Bluebonnet suites are each 1 bedroom and 1 bath. The property is spotless and well appointed with high quality linens, fluffy towels, signature toiletries and luxurious spa robes- all selected with your ultimate comfort in mind. After a long day enjoying the beauty of the Hill Country, relax with a glass of wine next to the koi pond or enjoy a soak in the hot tub. Come see why the accommodations at the Magnolia House are some of the finest the Texas Hill Country has to offer!

LOCATION - 7 blocks north of Main St
HOSTS - Home completely to yourself. There is separate cottage at the rear of the property where the groundskeeper lives but your privacy is always respected.
SLEEPS - Up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms; 4 king bedrooms downstairs & 1 king bedroom upstairs
BATH - 5 baths; There are 3 baths downstairs & 2 upstairs. All have tubs & showers
KITCHEN - A fully equipped kitchen is available for the Lilli Marleen Suite with regular & Keurig coffeemakers. The Bluebonnet & Magnolia Suites each have a coffeebar with a Keurig.
BREAKFAST - No breakfast; coffee and teas are provided
AMENITIES - Electric fireplace in the Lilli Marleen Suite, Wi-Fi, Smart TVs w/ Roku, patio area with a hot tub, outdoor dining & seating, a fountain & a beautiful Koi pond, large front porch with comfy seating

The house itself was so beautiful and you can really feel the history it is amazing. Tons of space for our family and the kids absolutely loved it. The location was excellent. Everything was extremely close by, the host responded really quickly and check in and out was very easy. They had cute amenities like monogrammed robes in each room and we had an overall awesome time!! My only real gripe was that the water pressure in some of the bathrooms was really low causing some hiccups in getting ready and the bedding seemed to be needing some refreshing. In the end, I would stay here again! Definitely recommend for a large group.

Host very responsive to internet interruption. Home was furnished as a home rather than a rental. Made all the difference in the purpose of our stay, which was downtime and a time to reconnect.

This a well-kept older house in a quiet residential neighborhood. It was great for family because of everyone having a separate bedroom and bathroom. There was a lot of open space where we could gather for conversation and for dining together. The home had several entrances and included large outdoor areas.

The cutest house

This is the cutest house with so many bedrooms. We loved the wallpaper, fancy carpet in the 2 living areas, all of it. I appreciate the many Keurig machines all over the place. The hot tubs were on when we arrived, which is nice. I would book this house again, the management is very responsive with any questions that you have.

Quirky layout

We had 5 couples so the 5 king beds and 5 full baths was a bonus. However we didn’t realize the layout is quirky and it took some negotiating to figure out which bathroom each couple would use and which entrance they would use to avoid interfering with other’s privacy.

Quiet Nice Home Close to Main Street

This house is deceptive at first but once you go inside you’ll be surprised at how big it is. Very old timey feel to it but that’s what makes it great. Location is awesome too since it was only a 5 mins drive to Main Street. Our group loved the house, would definitely stay again.

Great House

This is a beautiful old, historic house. We had 8 adults, and we all loved the house! It was clean and well taken care of. It’s in a great location in Fredericksburg. I would definitely book it again.

Fun Family Trip

The charming, historic Magnolia House is spacious, clean, tastefully decorated and gives you a nice, comfortable feeling. It was a great place for our family to get together. The layout is unique but knowing that the house was a former bed and breakfast, it makes sense (two rooms have outdoor entry access if you do not want to go through the house). Wish the weather had been a little cooler so we could have enjoyed the outdoor amenities. Very easy check-in and check-out.

Great old style house. Inside well done, comfortable and decorated. Lawn care has been neglected. Home advertised as blocks from historic district. True, blocks from northern boundary of historic district, but many, many blocks from downtown historic district.

Enjoyed our Stay

It was a charming old house that was just the right size for our group of 9. The layout of the home was a little odd but the rooms were a good size. Our only complaints were that it did seem to need a little TLC since it was a little in disrepair. We enjoyed the hot tub in the back of the main house, we did not use the second smaller one, but it never really got warm hot enough for us. Other thank that really really enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at the Magnolia House for three nights was very comfortable and satisfying. The house made our Ladies Trip enjoyable with all it's Vintage decor and modern amenities. Close to the shopping and the local eateries and wineries we so love . Neighborhood was quiet all night and awakened to the birds singing each morning. Thank You Gasthaus !

Weekend Getaway

There was plenty of space for four couples to enjoy a long weekend exploring the area. Very convenient to downtown yet far enough away to be quiet. Because of the age of the house, the bedroom / bath arrangement was unique but functional. Kitchen wasn't stocked necessarily for robust culinary efforts and some of the glassware needed to be washed before using. Hot tub was in great condition and very relaxing.

Not a bad house at all if your very close family. Very huge and wide spread. Upstairs never got cool, so noone stay up there lucky we only needed 4 bedrooms. But overall was very happy.

The house was perfect for the 10 of us!!! I had the impression that each bedroom had its own bathroom but that's not the case....only 3 bathrooms downstairs.....Good thing we are all great friends!!! The hot tub could have been warmer than 90 degrees.....

Large space for group!

The house was in a convenient location and very close to Main. Having 5 king beds and 5 bathrooms was a plus. The house layout is very odd, and I do feel like there was wasted space, but compared to some rentals where beds are in closets it was better to have more space than needed.The kitchen was the biggest issue. It is small for the house overall, but missing many key items but also had duplicates of other items. Many items were not clean (no dishwasher pods provided either!) and no kitchen towels available. I would pack a frying pan, dishwasher pods, extra dish soap and foil/parchment/wax paper to coat cooking surfaces
