Nice place just needs some TLC

The house and grounds were nice. There were some irritating issues. The place was dark and needed light bulbs in every fixture, the AC down stairs didn’t work well, the coffee pot didn’t work well at all,

Poor communication

I am reaching out because I was disappointed with my stay for several reasons. I reached out to Tai on Sunday to ask for the pool net to clean leaves, spiders, and large bugs out the pool. He said he would come by the following day and clean the pool. I also was concerned that I could not lock the guesthouse when I was not there. He stated the keyless entry may need a battery and would also come check that. For this reason I was not able to use the guesthouse as a living area as it is not secure when no one is inside of it to physically lock the lock. Tai did not come the next day. My fiancé reached out to him and again he said the place that has the pool supplies was closed but he would come the following day. Tai never reached back out to us. On Tuesday I text and said that it was our final full day there and I would like to enjoy the pool. He came in the afternoon while we were gone and cleaned it. He did not call or attempt to reach us. The keyless entry to the main house was not working when we returned. My son entered through the upstairs balcony to allow us access. My issues are lack of timeliness and communication with our property manager. Our stay was from Friday until today, Wednesday and the pool was not cleaned until Tuesday afternoon. The keyless entries were not working properly and I did not feel secure in the property The property itself also wasn’t clean. The cabinets and walls are dirty, there is hair in the bed when covers pulled back, socks were dirty

Reunion

We selected this property because of the openness for an extended group. In addition to the 10 residents, we had an additional 10 locals and hotel visitors. It serviced us well. The living room, outside, kitchen and dining room all worked well. My wife and I hosted this tradition going back to the 1890’s and it is different to do that without complains but we largely achieved that. I would agree with the website that it is not recommended for those mobility challenged.

Reunion in Richmond, TX

This property is excellent for groups with several living and dining areas inside and out. We staged the most recent addition of a family reunion dated from 1890 on this property. In addition to the 10 staying on the property another dozen who live locally or stayed in hotels met here. We felt comfortable and not crowded. All kitchen and other facilities were as represented and exceeded expectations. I would repeat the website notice that the house is difficult for anyone mobility challenged.
